DO NOT EVER DEAL WITH CVT NZ. They are nothing but useless. I called them Monday as i was wanting to go up to Rockhampton for the weekend. Told them i need new CVT fluid for the cedric but they must send it to me asap so i can receive it well before the weekend. Gave over my credit card details and they charged $1390. Little did i know that they are only sending 8 litres of the 11litres i need to flush the transmission. Called on Wednesday and it hadn't even left yet. They gave bullshit excuses then promised i will recieve it before the weekend. Tracked the parcel and it has just arrived in Sydney, which is always helpful! Now i have to pay $316 worth of duty and taxes. So that makes it $1690 for 8 litres of CVT fluid. Nissan quoted $450 per 4 litres with ETA of 2-3 weeks. Thats $1485 INCLUDING GST delivered for 12litres. Again, DO NOT EVER EVER EVER deal with those lazy NZ (unts.

I brought this car in for my wife and since she refuses to drive it as its too big (size does matter!) its for sale. Beautiful car to drive and has plently of grunt. 1999 Nissan Y34 Gloria Ultima 4 Speed Automatic with power and snow modes VQ30DET (3.0L V6 turbo) producing a quoted 206kw 6 disc CD stacker + tape deck! wow! with 7 speaker sound system including a stock 10" subwoofer in the rear shelf OEM DVD player with RCA inputs in the rear Sat navigation, which can be converted to Aussie for a few hundreds dollars. Brand new 20" rims with new tyres. ABS TCS Power steering Power windows Power seats Remote Keyless Entry Auto close boot Auto close windows and auto lock doors (programable via the OEM ECU) Dual air bags Air purifier system Tri zone air conditioning (Driver, Passenger and rear) Presidential style window tinting Steering wheel controls for the AC, Stereo and Navigation Lots more to mention. Seriously one of the best cars i've owned. In excellent condition being 10years old. Exterior is prestine, interior is prestine (even though the shots make it look dirty) and mechanically perfect. Located in North Brisbane (Strathpine). Ben 0417 366 372 [email protected] Price is 21K ono. Or 19K with standard wheels.

Well, i knew it would happen. The wife thinks the gloria is too big for her. Thats what happens when you drive a 3 door echo i spose. lol. Check out the for sale section as its now up for sale. Looks good with the new rims though

yeah 3" should make it go very hard. I threw on a filter and she sounds awesome. It has the R34 GTT turbo noise, but with added V6 induction note. Unreal. In regards to coolers, you'll have to hack up either the front bar supports, or some other bits and peices. I recon it would be better to just get a really good side mount one and make some good pipes to go with it.
-
NOTE to all. Removing pre-cat, mid mufflers and pipes whilst keeping OEM cat and rear muff is a fruitless excercise. Here was i thinking the OEM cat would flow better than a dodgy compliance cat... NOPE! Theres virtually no engine noise at all, so i think the OEM rear muffler certainly works well indeed.

and this: CVT

and for those thinking that the 6 speed CVT is useless and wont take power, check this out: Extroid Last section of the page.

no idea on the excess. Make sure when you talk to a shannons person you tell them that your a car freak and attend/enter many car shows/competitions. That way they will usually let you into their "crowd". That price was with 20's exhaust and filter.

Black 2000 6 spd CVT Cedric now insured for 26K full comp through Shannons for $85 a month! Bet you just cars cant beat that!
-
well todays the day the cedric gets registered Then im off this arvo to find some really nice 20inch wheels. Cant have a VIP without 20's....
-
turns out the error was "Closed TP SW Circuit" which means closed throttle position switch circuit. Cleared the code and all good. Must have been me pulling a 10amp fuse the other day trying to reset the ECU. Thanks heaps. Ben

date translations this might help
-
Hey all, need to have the following translated as much as possible. Its on my car ATM after a warning light appeared saying not to speed, which is strange since it was sitting on a hoist at idle. Thanks in advance! Just want to make sure its driveable so i can take it to a mates place that has a diagnostics machine. Ben translations.doc

just got a price from shannons for insurance. For agreed value of 23K its $1579 a year or $132 a month. Pretty dam good i recon. Considering the old aristo was the same price and only valued at 19K. PS - Im 25 and listed it as being locked up everynight in a garage, but driven daily.

Illegal Import Help!
sbyder replied to vice5500's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
the car has been flagged on the system by DOTARS. When the new owner tries to register the car, the inspectors will have fun tearing it apart for closer inspection then removing it from your possession. vice5500: as I've told you on the phone a MILLION times, you cannot put a new VIN on the vehicle and think everything will be ok. It wont! I dont care if you recon your transport department said it could be done, it cant and they will work that out once they get the whole story. What I recon has happened is the car was complied and PASSED compliance mid last year. Then somehow you have obtained either a written off car or a car with a copied VIN. 1. The car was written off and all compliance plates including the original VIN on the firewall was removed by the insurance company. The owner bought the car back, then redid the VIN number fixed the damage and sold it to you. 2. The original car is still registered somewhere in Australia and what you have is another car that has had the VIN copied from an already complied vehicle. Obviously you cant have 2 VIN's on the road in Australia, so you're screwed. 3. The original white car was written off then the VIN was copied onto a donor car/half cut to fool you into thinking that its roadworthy. Why they gave you a fake invoice with my company name on it saying that it failed compliance, then has the details for compliance of a VZ-R Pulsar on it with balance owing of $1800. And of course they gave you a front page of a import approval that is meant for a VZ-R pulsar. Obviously this was done to try and make it look legit to you, but you really didnt think or look much into it before handing over your money. Why would a compliance shop charge $1800 to fail a car for compliance. Usually we ask for our documentation fees and tell the owner to take the car and piss off. Heres a tip for you. Dont try and register the thing, get rid of it legally otherwise you will get into trouble. Even if you manage to fool the local transport authority, they will eventually find out. Remember, they have all the details. If a deal looks dodgy, it usually is. -
you'd have to hack it a bit as the stacker is tiny compared to a single din. I'd just throw in a hi band receiver and leave it stock. Eventually i'll work out what all the jap language means, or i'll get Kristian to do it for me Yeah they have purifiers, well at least both of mine do.

Rear centre speaker PN: 28138-AG005 List price out of japan is $360+GST+Freight. Looks like i'll be doing a "how to replace the stock sub with an aftermarket fitment" guide soon.
-
Good stuff man! Cant wait to get it and take some pics for ya! I have been told that the turbo is similar to a R34 GTT turbo, so boost should be limited to 14psi due to the ceramic turbine wheel. No idea on the head unit aspect yet, but it will be a pain in the ass. The Navigation for the radio, CD/DVD, NAV and A/C all come up on the one screen, so who knows what would happen if you try and fit an aftermarket unit. Not to mention the dramas in making a new surround to make it fit. All i can say is the orginal sound system pumps hardcore. Definately better than my old aristo's system even though the aristo had a 12" sub and the Y34 has a 8". My Cedric has a blown sub (the surround falls apart due to the heat in the sun), so i'll be checking out how much an OEM replacement is.

The VIP models have the power rear seats and steering column, so just find a VIP and you should be set
-
my tip would be to pay him the broker fee and have him look for a VIP-Z. You should be able to find a decent one for around ¥600,000. That said, the CVT isn't that special.

These are 3 of 4 Y34's currently in the country. The 1st was a silver Gloria (very much the same as mine) and it was used as a test car for East Coast Compliance and was recently sold by the owner to a QLD guy for 22K plus on roads. It looks like the Iron chef will have his hands on the White Cedric in the near future, so keep your eye out for a slammed on 19's Y34 cruising around Adelaide in the next few weeks.... Cheers Ben PS - Check out the different interior, wheels and light options with the models. All wheels are genuine Nissan and made by Enkei. The VIP models come with electonically adjustable rear seats and electric steering column and automatic steering wheel/seat recline when you remove the keys.
