  1. haha fair enough, I would suggest prolly starting somewhere around 28psi, once they are hot they will start to stick more, but you don't want to go too low in the pressure as the handling will become sloppy. I would take them to a track day and start at around 28psi, as they start to warm and get sticky start letting them down bit by bit until it gets to the stage where it start affecting the in corner handling then pump them up a little bit. That's what I did to work out the pressure in my drag slicks (obviously didn't matter about cornering, but I did a pressure vs ET/Speed test). Odds are if you go to a decent track day their will be people there running slick (not nessacerily the same) but they would be able to give you a rough idea.
  2. that's so true, I dunno how many people I have spoken to who have complained about the tuning job such'n'such workshop did but it was like the first time they had even dealt with that ECU. I was speaking to the guys at UAS the other day about the PowerFC and if there was going to be anything to replace it from Apexi and they said they didn't have any info, but were going to start working with the E-Manage 2 in the not too distant future and said depending on the ease of tuning (and how long it takes the tuner to get it down-pat) it shoudl perform just as well if not better than the PowerFC.
  3. SkyGTRline....after looking at your avatar I think I spotted you in the carpark near the boat hire on Lake Burley Griffin on Saturday around 1-2pm
  4. man 20c for half, you got the rough end of the stick....was 20c for the whole one at my school. I dunno what you refer to as remember school thou....I have them in my freezer at home and at work every week !!
  5. I'd prolly look at a little higher than 24psi...but this depends on the actual size of the tyres. Do they have sizes written on them ?? Did you ask the bloke you bought them off what he ran them at ??
  6. are you using them for drag or for track ?? as this will change the pressure you want to run
  7. after finally getting my skyline I know need to sell my laser off as I can't keep 3 cars at home I have owned the car for about 5-6months, but was owned by my aunty prior to that for about 6 years, so it's been in the family for a while. 8. I finally picked up my r33 yesterday and it's missing a few small little bits and pieces that I wouldn't mind getting just to tidy it up a bit. I need: - the top half of the fuse box in the bonnet (the one that the battery leads run too) - the plastic surround that clips into the console around the handbrake - the 3rd piece of the center coin holder, the one closest to the driver I think that's it for now, will update this thread if I find anything else.
  9. might help if you let us know what suburb in canberra the car is located in, as I am sure some people won't want to drive 30-45mins to the other side to look at it...and never know your luck there might be a member just around the corner from it
  10. this might sounds stoopid but have you checked your wheel nuts are done up properly...I had a clunk noise in the rear of my 180sx that took days and about 4 different mechanic diagnosis' to work out, we were sure it was diff/tailshaft related but jsut needed to re-tighten the wheel nuts
  11. they did actually say that in the first instance you would only lose your licence for 3months, so I would say that would be regardless of how many points are obtained from the fine (depending on the nature of the incident of course). But in order for that to even be feasible I think they need to re-evaluate the demerit point and fines system for p-platers, as by taking p-platers off the road for petty things like having a blown lights, or a p-plate that fell off would be a bit rediculous. They were saying on the news this morning however that they are likely to be going to ban p-platers from carrying anymore than 1 passenger under 25 in the vehicle at night, and will be making the tests longer and more difficult....finally a step in the right direction I guess.
  12. yeah it was the widebody one
  13. only got up to the dyno shed late on saturday arvo...but saw "IENIL8" capri pump out 927.6hp But nothing made the crowd go off more than a blue r32 gtr laying down 727.5hp
  14. I had a similar issue in my 180sx...put another sr20det into it and when we tried to start it, it would turn over, and everything but just wouldn't start...sometimes it sounded like it was firing but still wouldn't run, turned out to be that I needed to run the same AFM as the ECU (I had swapped the ecu but not the afm).
  15. to hold how many gauges ?? I have a dash mount in the shed...it's for 3 gauges I think.
  16. sure that it's not a gts4 with a rb26 transplant ?? I find that to be more likely and practical then a gtst -> gtr conversion
  17. my resolution for my car is to actually get it LOL....wait for the workshops to reopen in sydney so I can get it blueslipped and rego'd and go pick it up....hopefully on this friday, hanging out for it for 3weeks now
  18. Autobarn have english manuals for most greddy/blitz gear IIRC, just pop in and ask the manager or spares bloke....if they have it they can download it from their intranet.
  19. lol yeah or the new blue spiked ones that were introdueced in mario kart 64....would hunt down the leader taking anything in it's path on the way LOL
  20. from my experience the ultrasonic sensors are more a pain the ass than anything else. I would just go for the glass break and not worry about the ultrasonic. If you lock your car all the time (which I would hope you would) then there is no need for the ultrasonic, coz they will have to break a windows or open a door to get into the car, both of which will set of the alarm anyhow. Even thou you can set the sensitivity on most ultrasonic sensors, I used to get most people coming back a few weeks after installing the alarm ask me to turn it off or pu the sensitivity as low as possible. Just due to they pick up any movement in the car. For instance you lock a flying bug in the car, the snesor will pick it up if it moves after the alarm has armed, also things like sun blinds falling down etc. Just a pain in the ass in my opinion.
  21. 5. Pipebombs and Laser mines - Duke Nukem 3D (just for the fact you could litter a room and destroy everything on entry LOL) 4. Redeemer - UT 3. Freeze Ray and Shrinker - Duke Nukem 3D 2. Railgun - Quake 2 1. Cerebal Bore - Turok 2 and if you haven't seen it have a look at this...the top 10 weapons in games..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q17oeFtLvvQ
  22. I had a manifold from them on my 180sx, needed a bit of tidying up around the ports and turbo flange to clear up some rough edges and rough welds. Also needed to elongate the stud holes on the turbo to make it fit onto the studs in the manifold as they were not tapped straight. Even thou I had to do all this still was good for the price (even after with the extra $$$ having to get it fixed up).
  23. does it go up slower than normal, or does it change speeds on the way up ??
  24. that's fine I would like a drive but a passengers seat is a good indication for now .....PM sent
