Oh and also guys I may have a spare seat on Sunday for the charity cruise but I will find out later on today. I'll let you's know if there is anyone who wanted to hitch a ride for the day.

im going on the charity cruise, i went last year and wouldn't miss this 1 for the world. And by any chance did the red 32 have black rims with like the front window half way down but crooked?

yup got the manual in it, and it drives much harder although still sifting out a few little issues but nothing major

+1 marty for all my work, and daz what kinda of interior do you have? dash cluster? if so will it fit my gtst?

not what I wanted to hear lol. So around 1000 to fix it? Will that include labour? And is it safe to still drive it around a little bit?

nah nowhere near the door trims that im aware of. and yeah its both controls on the drivers side and the 1 on the passengers side aswell.

OK well ive just had a manual conversion done on my car and now my windows are down and wont go up :-( My question is when all the wiring was done with the manual conversion could there be something that was missed which would not make the power windows work, or would this be an un-related issue.

well Ive just had my manual conversion done and everything seems fine except for the gearbox making a whining/rubbing noise. It makes the noise through 1st 2nd and 3rd gear but is ok in 4th and 5th. If the car is at idle it makes the noise but goes away when I push my clutch in. I'm new to manual gearboxes so I Dont know much at all, so any help or info would be appreciated.

no no I have that, apparantly theres something else im missing (from the stock shifter) to make it all fit

Car is R33 turbo After stuffing around with my auto box for long enough ive had a mechanic do a manual conversion for me. The last hiccup we've come across is that when I bought my gearbox it didn't come with a shifter. Now thinking this was an easy fix I bought 1 of the cheapo copy short shifters from 999 Automotive but my mech is telling me now that it doesnt fit and that I need some plastic cup thingy from a stock shifter to make it fit. He's other advice was to try a C's short shifter or get a stock shifter(no1 ive come across is willing to seperate this from their gearbox that they are selling) Will a C's short shifter fit properly? Or do I need this plastic cup thingy?. Where abouts do I start hunting for either of these items or a stock shifter with all the mechanisms.

who knows my car may even be ready by this weekend. will be good to drive it again

Im getting my mechanic on the sunshine coast to do the work for me. I did some calculations and it worked out that i would of saved more in the long run had i bought a half cut.

I am in the process of doing a conversion on my 33. If I had my time over again I would of purchased a front cut to save the hassle of sourcing parts (some took me hours of ringing around) and when its all done you can sell what ever is left over to recoop some $$$ Hope this helps.

Sourced the gearbox privately up here Jase, and yoke and flywheel and all other stuff from Asian Autos in Brisbane somehere. Just getting a 1 piece tailshaft made up now, so it's all coming together

I've pretty much got all the parts now for the conversion so it shouldn't be long before I'm back out in the liner :-D
