  1. Guys any thoughts on the work they've done to the track over the break? Any time in it?

    Tyre Widths

It will work, as long as it fits. I've run 295's on the front fwiw.
  3. I haven't looked at your PDF but it sounds like the document we've all signed (ADM owners). Ie. "normal" They should really tell you about these conditions when you buy the car (before you sign a contract) however I am sure if would likely baulk too many new prospective buyers.... From a warranty perspective there really isn't much difference with most other manufacturers ie. If you break it on the track, don't expect Nissan to fix it. The 'gotcha' in this case is the post track inspection, where they will download all fluid temp history, and thence make you replace them if you have exceeded thresholds. This wasn't for me, so I essentially threw away my warranty, because in the end, if you break it at the track, you have the factor in the worst case/likely scenario (you'll have to pay anyway). I am sure there are cases where Nissan replaced track abused bits, but for me I just didn't think it was worth it. If you're going to regularly track the car, the whole track inspection thing (and subsequent costs) just wouldn't work. I think you're better off finding a great mechanic and ditching the warranty. But if you're only doing one or two track days per year... Perhaps stick with warranty and all the constraints that come with it. It should be said that you can acquire superior fluids and components and other consumables far cheaper than anything Nissan would put in your car. They is a huge aftermarket for this car now.
  4. Wow, looks like a lot of fun, love the sound too, insane. Not much grip and arse looks a bit light over Corporate!
  5. Do you do this Mike? If so can you PM me.

    Can't Play Mp3's

Mp3's will work with CDR's (not DVD) on the 09. As mentioned above I don't think/know that you can rip those to hdd though.
  7. One thing is for certain you can NEVER keep everyone happy... Seriously though, legit door to door is something I admire (from a distance) I just cannot take part ATM. I have a few mates involved in ipra etc. And they do think that sprints is a tad soft... Meh!
  8. Correct r35 doesn't care about offsets, some of us have run some pretty stupid offsets, mainly due to limited wheel choice. Equal diameter front vs rear is important however. Must be within 2% or thereabouts. My experience is that anything less than 640mm height has issues too. Sorry I have NFI about the r34 system.
  9. Yah think I've heard of those, good fun for us SOFT types.
  10. The reality is, those who go out and actually race (door to door) feel that supersprints/time attack is SOFT. I've seen this attitude quite a bit & it's what is driving any angst behind this thread. Personally, those who don't want to have anything to do with sprints/time attack, well, they should stay the hell out of this thread IMO.
  11. my theory is you got a puncture; it then deflated relatively quickly and then was chewed up quicksmart
  12. Awesome stuff Stuart, it must be a hoot to drive.
  13. Great work Miles, I am dead set jealous! Great pics too.
  14. What changes have they made to Wakefield?
  15. Fair enough. Door to door is next on my list. One day. Just need the time/space/tow car (and race car..). Hopefully in the not too distant future.
  16. I hear you (you have a point from a certain perspective) but personally i'm not interested (nor can get involved in) real racing. I drive my car every day and just dont have time (or inclination) to build a race car. Horses for courses really. Sprints / time attack has it's place. Lot of guys do sprints etc. with reasonably priced cars and get decent results. Hell I placed 2nd in SVD in 2008 in a monaro (NSW sprint championship). You may need something extraordinary/special/seriously developed and likely expensive to win outright, but that's almost a law of physics and will be that way in any form of motorsport. You're kidding yourself otherwise.
  17. Stuart, you've got to get new tyres and go out smash the time Good luck.

    R35 Build

Excellent, look forward to hearing about results.
  19. In clubsprint, tyres are the biggest constraining factor. There are heaps of relatively low cost cars that can smash a 1:44 given decent r-spec rubber.
  20. Ahh ok, makes sense. Then again i doubt Stuart was racing? Anyway 58.4 for a qualifier and 59 flat racing, cool.
  21. 58.4 here: http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results.cgi?06/04/2008.WAKE.Q5 But i thought they had run a 57.xx at some point.

    R35 Build

Mark, what do these rear arms allow you do do, correct (excessive) rear camber?
  23. A few of us have run some pretty odd offsets, the computers don't really care. Obviously there are other issues which affect every car.
  24. I'm pretty sure their website is out of date. They've run quicker than that.
  25. I don't think you need $175k to run 1:44's at EC. But, you'll need to take on much more compromise vs the everyday drivability the gtr offers. That's the whole point of the r35. At any rate the biggest constraint with clubsprint relates to tyres. I don't see six figure mods overcoming this.
