Not sure where $250k came from!! Ha ha. I doubt Kalis spent six figures on his eve to win. My car cost $167k drive away, mods for that event included tune and tyres (didn't run the wing due to carbon boot, however carbon bonnet is apparently ok..). Anyway the r35 was acquired to run in sprints, wtac was fun but a secondary event for me. Would love $250k,... surely enough to win open.

The do and they are. I think ADR compliant too from memory. -
Michelin don't really know much about R35's, let alone three to four lap sprints. Mark i reckon you need to get the N1's - if they are still around. Michelin built the perfect tyre for the R35 right there (N1) they were by far the best combination of compound and sidewall construction i have ever used. Iinteresting with the new S7's - we only got 5~8 heat cycles out of them only, and when they went off, they were worse (much worse) vs thrashed S9's which would have done 10~15 heat cycles. As others say, the 2nd to 4th lap on a fresh set will yield the absolute best times. Absolutely phenomenal grip. Once you experience it, well let's just say it's crack for rev-heads!
-
I'd consider it surprisingly slow, seconds a lap slower than a few road going R35's (in an outright/qualifer sense anyway). is it just because it's stuck with production specs? they run slicks right?
-
On that topic it has to be said by someone, why is the DK R35 so slow? is it because of production spec constraints? Also any more detail on the Mosler incident, tyres?

I still don't see how you can get a pair of rears here for less than $1000. I think it will be more than that, and attract taxes and duties etc, adding a couple of hundred. Based on this i don't see the saving any more than $300 in total, and even then you have to pay for fitting and balancing (say $100 at best, for all four) so i see the real saving about $200. Not really worth it IMO, considering you can get them fitted tomorrow in Sydney. Unless local availability is an issue, in which case i have bought from tirerack a few times too. FWIW, tempe is $100/tyre cheaper than telebs atm.
-
Can you PM me who organised the shipping? cheers.
-
maybe buying fronts for $400ea US will work out well (+say $100 for shipping) but i doubt you'll get the rears here for under $1000/pair. where did $824 saving come from?
-
Tempe Tyres in Sydney have new R35 bridgestones for $650ea. After you pay shipping and taxes, plus fitting as well (price above includes fitting) i dare say the savings may not be worth it.

ha ha, classic!

With a stripper R35 i would say you will see about 1500kg (ex driver).
-
No, still for sale.

Just get a good job, work you're arse off and save your pennies, no drug dealing required! Anyway today fitted new bridgestone RE070RZ runflats, while the wheels were off i took some pics of the JRZ double adjustable suspension...

Yeah me too (kids, works, shopping, beer! you name it). I would love to go to the next level but it would involve making it a track-only proposition; so then i need a trailer, tow car, probably a DD too, not to mention a place to put all that stuff. Maybe one day. Down here we have stripper WRX's, Evo's (even a quick Civic or two) which are just as quick vs a race R35. Hell just look at superlap results. Anyway for the sprints etc. in NSW, all you need to do is become a member of a CAMS affiliated Club, and join up to the state CAMS championship. Sorry but i just don't know how it works up north.

Love watching your progress John. Entertaining stuff. -
I love the stated R35 ethos; "Anyone, Anytime, Anywhere" This is why i bought the car. I won two CAMS State Sprint championships using this road car. Most of my close competitors (90%) had trailered in race cars. I love the philosophy, and the low cost of this track weapon (relatively) vs other so called track cars (road registered that is). I dont think you can aquire a faster road registered four seater track weapon (let alone two seater). Nissan have done an awesome job. Of course, i can understand those wanting to push the envelope too. But, at that level, i think you can make just about any dedicated track car uber fast, given time, resources, money etc.

Hey guys I've had the dreaded clickining the front end for over a year... it comes and goes. Sometimes after changing wheels (at the track) it will go silent for a few weeks, then eventually come back. I think we've all seen the posts on nagtroc, every now and then someone finds a cure. Tie rod ends, dry axels, cv's, missing extra spring clip on calipers, etc etc etc.... Anyway i tried everything, with limited success. Until this past weekend it seems to have disappeared entirely (thus far). This is what i did: - Remove front wheel - Take 8mm socket and hand tighten all the disc rotor hat bolts by hand (not too tight) - Refit wheel, make sure you have at least 120Nm to tighten wheel nuts - Do the other side - Bravo, no more clicking! I think the clicking is related to either a) the disc hat bolts moving around or b) wheel nuts simply not being torqued to spec. Simple as that. if you have the clicking, try the above... report back and let us know. Now i know the rotor hats need to be torqued to about 15Nm... so doing them by hand probably isnt the way to go, but as an experiment worth trying if the clicking is bugging the hell out of you (was driving me mad).. .. Get the bolts torqued properly if going onto the track of course. Duncan

SOME PICS And one from the last round of the NSW SS Championship Anyone with spare time could buy the car for $120k with all the mods, put the stocker suspension back in, sell the JRZ's, carbon boot and active wing, race seat, wheels etc etc for $10k to $15k... If the car doesnt sell with mods, they will be removed and car will be brought back to stocker config then sold for much the same price. I just dont have time ATM to remove all the bits.
-
Looking to sell my R35 as is (with mods, ready for track duties). - If there is no interest (in car WITH mods) I will be returning it to 100% stock for sale later. - It will just be a pity to go through the process of removing all mods if there happens to be anyone interested. Mods / inclusions are: 1. JRZ Pro Silent Coilover suspension 2. Willall Titanium mid-pipe & catback 3. Cobb AP with live map switching - including three maps (E85, E85 Race and 98) – about 390awkw 4. Password JDM carbon intakes 5. Upgraded Fuel pumps and DW 950cc Injectors 6. Sparco race seat and base (not currently in car but 10 min swap to put in) 7. Aeromotions ACTIVE rear wing, mounted on carbon boot (swaps with stocker boot in 10 mins) 8. Set of 18x10 Enkie track rims 9. Sparco harness bar (not currently fitted) 10. Extra set of brembo front calipers (which need repaint and seals) 11. NSW Plates "35R" included in price (if you so desire) A few other bits and pieces, and I can help out with track rubber too. Car has stocker seats and bootlid fitted atm. Easy to swap in/out race wing, seats, wheels. Car runs 1:00.8 at Wakefield Park, 1:38.8 at Eastern Creek and 10.7 @ 132mph at WSID. The things is, this car drives 100% like a stocker, i doubt any cars running these times would have street manners like this. I have serviced the car myself, swapped all fluids every 5000km, so if you are after a Nissan service history you should look elsewhere (asking price reflects this IMO). Not much of factory warranty remaining anyway. Car has done 23,000km, probably $25k ~ $30k in mods included. Asking $120k including all mods above; relevant stocker parts included too. A few minor scratches (and some gutter rash) which I will have repaired for purchaser. Will post up pics as soon as I take some current ones If the car doesn't sell in this config (probably isn't much interest but you never know) I will return the car to stock for sale later. Any enquires please send me a PM! Thanks!
