  1. I didnt see any cars retire except the VL bathurst car (with the bonnet pin issue). Of course people leave during the day like all events, and things get quieter as the dazy progresses. Btw if you do the event, i reckon bring some old rotors and some lower temp pads. Pulling your car up on cold track pads from 250~270km/hr is not only hairy, but isn't kind to the hardware - my newish rotors are a certain shade of blue right now.
  2. I think the only restriction was no slicks? That's why i couldnt run 18's Here is one of my runs Not the quickest, i did hit 268km/hr on the first run
  3. Good actually with 3rd outright. Pipped by Marek (by 2/10ths) and the mighty VL by another 2/100's If i was running 18's, the further weight reduction and gearing.. things may have been different!! woulda, coulda, shoulda.. Anyway i reckon this event will become bigger over the next few years.. everyone will step up (faster) next year for sure. It was such a relaxed and fun weekend away. It was interesting in the sense that it was a relatively loose surface and no burnouts were allowed. It gave the advantage to the GTR's in that sense. If the event was held on a proper drag racing surface i reckon a few of the other cars would have run 0.5 to 1s faster (given a proper launch/60'). Well worth the trip.
  4. Everyone got five runs. it was an extremely well run event, one of the best i have ever been to! heaps of fun, and lots of good people to boot. I'll definitely be going again, it's a great weekend away.
  5. Guys, suspension and active wing still available. Willing to sell suspension for $3k or wing + suspension for $4700k Putting these on ebay soon
  6. I've had the clicking on and off for two years. Sometimes slight sometimes really loud. It got real bad recently, so i took the wheels off and put them back on, the clicking immediately went away. Then it got bad again so i torqued up the wheelnuts some more - it then went away again. It hasn't come back since (a few weeks now). But i am sure it will come back. It really has me stuffed. I've read about all the theories, i don't think anyone knows for sure what the cause is? Lot's of people think they know because they.. 1) take the wheels off then 2) make a change then 3) put wheel back on... with noise gone. People naturally assume whatever happened at step 2 (above) fixed it! However, i have done just steps 1 and 3 and the noise is gone (plenty of times). I think it's related to wheelnut torque, but have NFI why.
  7. The ute looks great
  8. Fantastic! thank you. The plugs look to be concealed under the engine surround thingo. giddy up. I just hope they connected the rears..
  9. Thanks Dom, but i can't see any reference to the harness in question?
  10. I recently had my OEM suspension re-installed (after taking the JRZ's off) however the guys that did the job failed to reconnect the wiring harness to the top of the shocks. I can't see where the wire coming out of the top of the shock plugs in to?? Can someone give me a hint? I can't seem to find the section in the electronic service manual either. In addition, does anyone know how the harness works on the rear shocks? I am afraid i will have to pull the interior apart to confirm it's actually connected. (fwiw, the guy that did the job is on holidays atm, so i can't ask him). Thx.
  11. Hi Guys, these parts are still available. Price drop (moving soon so need to clear out bits) JRZ suspension in near new condition retails for $7000AU willing to sell for $3950 Active Wing mounted on carbon boot $2950 Or I will sell the suspension + active wing system + bootlid together for $6000 in total (further $1000 discount on above prices).
  12. The first time i got a new map it took 10 mins or so, thereafter maps flashed in very quickly. So perhaps it is the AP setting up the 'environment' the first time you do it. Or perhaps the maps need to be prepared for fast flashing?
  13. does time attack encourage R&D? Well yes - i guess. To a point. Let's face it, at the pointy end of the PROESSIONAL game (which i think we all realise is something else) they already know the concepts, whys and wherefores about how to make a car go seriously fast around a race track. We don't need time attack to show us how it done in an absolute sense. But as an amateur endeavour, working within relatively tight budgets - starting with road cars - it's damn interesting to see how people achieve what they do. For me that's what it's all about, and nothing more. F1 engineers aren't going to be looking at WTAC for any guideance that's for sure. You have to recognise it for what it is, and the achievements acomplished within the respective arena/budget/context. Otherwise, you're mixing two worlds that really are very far apart.
  14. That's a fantastic shot!
  15. Ventus R-S3 (for clubsprint..)
  16. Marek was on Hankooks this year (OEM bridgestones or dunlops last year). They seem pretty good, some little tricks to running them / getting them to work though
  17. Nice work guys, Mark and Mercury. I hope you come back to EC soon Great times thus far and obviously more to come. These built R35's where a huge attraction over the weekend.
  18. No 19 or 20" semis that will do those times, no.
  19. Mareks car is not far off standard. Mid-pipe, E85 Willall tune (injectors and fuel pump) and some uprated shocks/springs. That's about it. It would be difficult to find many other cars with LESS mods in the class, put it that way. Anyway this thread is about Marks car, it was great to see it running around out there yesterday and today, well done guys, absolutely fantasic.
  20. congrats to Marek T. currently leading Club class with a 1:42.5 in an R35 daily driver, great time for street tyres on a 1700kg+ car. Also it was great seeing so many people, what a fantastic day.
  21. Yes, apparently they are attempting repair tonight.
