  1. Totally agree, they are tougher than most think, and if something does break a) they aren't that exxy to fix and b) you wouldnt want nissan to fix it or necessarily use stocker parts. Not unless ou just drive the car on sundays as a cruiser anyway. And if you're just doing that, buy the HSV or something else.
  2. Anybody going into sprints (a category invented for rego'd cars) should realise there is a big grey area (cams vs rta vs sprint rules). It's not perfect; how many cars in the SV paddock would technically comply with rta or compliance? i would hazard a guess 0%! And who cares. Like i've said many times if want more defined rules stop your bitching go to a dedicated motorsport category. Calling people out in sprints is lame and it's like shooting fish in a barrel really. Only seems to happen when people are breaking records though...
  3. I got to watch the SLS yesterday, from last on the grid up to pos 3 i think! awesome.
  4. Hate to say it Mark but 1500kg+ (at any power level or tech wizardry) will have no chance against the Lotus. Btw anyone get the email from SL asking people to register what tyres they are running, so the manufacturers are stocked up? You have to wonder how gullable we are i suppose!
  5. Agree, the comparison (whilst amusing) is a bit stupid. BCL, exhaust and tune will give you 130mph in the R35 fwiw.
  6. Car is still for sale! (nobody has even looked at it) please dont send me PM's for some reason i can't use the new 'personal conversation' system at home. Price reduced to $110k inc all mods. Ph 0458-488-532
  7. Mark certainly doesnt have a big head. But i would say 99% is an very unfair BS generalisation. How many R35's in the country? 300? i guess only 3 have their head screwed on right. The rest of us ae dickheads i suppose.
  8. These work great for r35' check the compound. S7, S8 or S9. If buying 2nd hand, S9's are best (harder compound, but last longer) with S7's being softest (only lasting a few heat cycles)
  9. that's odd, my DW 950's fit straight up, no mods required.
  10. Dom, Willall set me up with an E85 tune. I am running the DW 950's and upgraded fuel pumps. Currently i have switched back to 98 as i am not racing as much this year. No problems with the E85 tune. I've only used the E85 from United from Rozelle, i havent tried the Caltex variety, which i am told is more variable. Btw i picked up about 45awkw with the e85 alone, and the only other supporting mods i have are Willall catback and carbon intake snorkels.
  11. Great videos! Great driving and well done all involved.

    Suncorp Experience

Jesus guys, finance or cash, who cares. Horses for courses.. Damn look at how much cars depeciate, a car of this value is probably depreciating about 2k a month as it is. Just decide how much per month/year/whatever you are prepared to pay and get what you want. Fark, the cost to run a car at regular events makes finance and depreciation look ike play money anyway. Love that, in the face of all this, quasi accountants get their calculators into a tizz working about the optimal approach, makes me laugh. Wish it was that easy.

BCL sounds like they've stuffed you around, sounds ike a PITA. You may want to try St George (that's who i use) i've had zero issues with them (Chattel) and i didnt need to jump through those hoops.
  14. If you want to get some track time on weekends, best try supersprints or similar, they are always on weekends. As far as costs go, trust me the entry fees and license costs will be a very minor part of the equation, almost not work thinking about relative to running the car.
  15. my experience with the Japanese culture, is that they will politely agree to whatever you want, getting them to deliver is another story. but in this case, given who Mizuno is, shouldnt be a problem i presume.
  16. Wow, great results. Awesome. Great vid and pics too.
  17. Pound for pound nothing comes close to R35, as far as road cars go. Nice work. Take the baby seat out, there is a couple of seconds right there!
  18. FIA GT3 will be a v8 i imagine whereas the RC has VR38.
  19. WOW, great ending to your problem. Congrats. Very fortunate. Love to see the look on your dealers face.
  20. Some interesting points. Just quietly, i would never let a dealer inlfluence my ability to own this car. Even if it was an engine or blown tranny issue. I guess people just have different priorities. I consider it a massive previlege to own this car, and having tracked it for over 40 track days, the level of excitment and joy it provides (on track) easily dissapates any warranty or pole polishing i might get in a shiny showroom or service dept. Life is too short, just buy a new rim, and get to the track!!
  21. You have to SMASH the accelerator pedal, and i mean FAST/QUICK, as hard as you can. Trust me it makes a difference. You have to SMASH the gas pedal (once you have 100% brake that is). Try that. It will work.
  22. No, my box will now happily go above 4000rpm, but in the video (that Martin posted) it was only about 3000rpm. Quite tame really. To answer your other question, there are some workshops around with the consult product which can recalibrate your clutch relearn (which i am sure your dealer should be able to do).
  23. Domino i am pretty sure i could launch with VDC on, are you saying 2009 couldn't? I can't remember, i've since had my box go through the clutch relearn feature where i think they put a jap spec launch mode in, but not sure. I have some videos around somewhere.
  24. Perhaps ask the dealer rep what exactly he's saying you are not allowed to do. Ask him to be specific Would love to hear the answer.
  25. What problem are you having with launch control? I have a 2009 R35, and it worked fine right from the start. Have you ever used it?
