  1. I dont think you're doing it right. All R35s have launch mode.
  2. The bus setup has to be the ultimate solution, awesome.
  3. I am thinking about going to the 'next level' with R35 performance. Interested in your thoughts. I am kind of sick of competing with balls out evo's and wrexes built and tuned within an inch of their lives (drawing upon 10+ years of development) vs relatively simple catback+tune R35 (as great as that really is). Time to up the ante and rebalance the ledger i reckon. It seems Martin is getting 500+kwatws ala: http://www.nagtroc.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=49327 Can anyone say TIMEATTACK.... How far is too far with the R35? How much power can it handle?
  4. Willall mate. I've run their tune for DOZENS OF TRACK DAYS and never had an issue. Martin is a track centric tuner.
  5. Where do people get off on the personal judgements? FFS. This is probably more about how Nissan reacted/responded. Clearly there is some doubt about the situation, who kows what caused the crack; if Nissan dismissed it out of hand entirely straight up, or without offering a cler reason as to why warranty was denied, then i would back the OP.
  6. Dunno how this works. There are seven sensors that act as inputs into the VDC system. And i am not sure if the front/rear torque split is even part of VDC, is it? So does this HKS system FIX the front/rear split, or is it still variable? Interesting though,i would like to know more..
  7. Very true.
  8. If you are running greater than stock power, and you are after laps times, VDC ON will be slower. At Wakefield and EC i would factor in 1-2 seconds slower. VDC is good for out laps and a wet track though.
  9. As for R35 reliability, i can only assume there are lemons, like any brand i reckon. I must have done 40 to 50 track days in my R35 - i am not kidding - and with multiple track records (60.8 seconds at Wakefield fwiw) and i have had next to zero issues, the car has been rock solid. I've tried doing balls out track days in other cars, and they just aren't a patch on the japs. Perhaps i have been lucky, but i am more inclined to reckon the odd vocal few with issues are just unlucky bastards. It happens with all marques.
  10. Just generally speaking Dom. Basically the hoops Nissan would have any of us jump through if tracking the car. Too hard basket for my money.
  11. Back seats in the R35 are really only good for ferrying kids around, which i do with my lot quite often. But anyway whats even more spectacular are lap times. 0-100km/hr gets boring fast. Hell i am sure we could build a 600hp falcadore with a 4500 stall that will drag off a godzilla, for less than 1/4 the price. Where to mate?
  12. Wow, we've come a long way from a $75k crate motor situation! And/or not being able to even source a block. Makes the whole warranty thing even more of a joke.
  13. Are you sure you were watching them 100% of the time? That's pretty hard to do, and i've always feel it's a bit odd/distrustful The runflats are somewhat of a pain to remove, tyre fitters have damaged my rims trying fwiw.
  14. Work it out: 5000 home sites x $300k Get the calculator out... We're talking BILLIONS of bucks, and that's just land value. Imagine total money changing hands when you consider buildings and infrastructure for a whole new suburb. It's many many billions. Not to say the land owners got billions of dollars, but it's just about money.
  15. What's Nissans justification for denying warranty? I mean have they explained how they came to their conclusion. You might consider having the wheel/s x-rayed. Who's to say the others do not have the same flaw. If you want to buy a near new 2nd hand set of r35 wheels, the going rate is about $3k US on the nagtroc forum. Harder to find individual wheels though.
  16. wow were you losing tyre pressure before the tyre was changed at all? Have you thought the tyre place might have done it when removing the tyre? can you post up a full pic of the rim, square on. that might help see if it's still 100% round
  17. There are countless examples online of wheels cracking without visible evidence of abuse/damage. Could be a lot of reasons for a stress fracture. Let's see some pics of the entire wheel.
  18. That's a bugger. Could it have been a big pothole hit? When i had a couple of cheaper rims crack, a few people told me stories about QUALITY rims cracking, FWIW.
  19. Oh okay, must have been the tyres making it look cleaner vs EC in-car. Sounds like a bit of work nonetheless!
  20. Also pay attention to compounds people are using, look at session lap times carefully. If you want the time you'll have to pay; you may only see a single lap per session where some tyres will work.
  21. Great video. Had me on the edge of my seat, nice work Stuart. Looks to be a little more sorted now, with grip and/or setup?
  22. Going rate for a car of that value, for a casual rent, would be about $1000/day. You could get a Cobb AccessPort, flash in a "safe" tune, limit the RPM, for example.
  23. When do the entries open...????
