Car still for sale. Funny that hey, Selling a Mazda on a Skyline Forum plus it's not advertised anywhere else... Yet. I told the wife it's for sale and online but it's only a matter of time before she makes me put it on carsales or something. (I so don't want to sell it) C'mon guys, buy yourself a bargain collectors item. These are selling for around the 14K mark for a genuine Familia GTR and this is the rarer Rally spec. Great base for a race car project! Price won't come down more $9000 Firm

Righto, I need to sell this car so I can put more money into the 32. It is a very regretful sale and I would really prefer to keep it but my wife's a bitch and is making me sell it. I have owned the car since 2001 and have been the only Australian owner since it was imported. This is a very rare car, only 300 Familia GTR's were given the rally treatment from factory in the guise of the GTAe (sadly most of these met their demise in the GRP. A competition) and only 2500 GTR's were built for the road to meet homologation requirements for the WRC in the early 90's. For those that don't know much about these little rockets here is a quick rundown of Factory specs for the GTAe: Factory handbuilt engine BPT 1.8L 154kW and 250Nm; Squeeze cast pistons; Hollow camshafts (to save .5kg for each); Sodium filled exhaust valves; Match-ported exhaust manifold; Shot peened close ratio gearbox; Rear Viscous LSD; 43-57 front-to-rear torque split under static conditions, up to 60-40 under high slip conditions. Air to Air Front mounted intercooler; IHI RHF-6 VJ23 Ball bearing turbo; Brakes are 274mm (ventilated) at the front and 280mm (solid) at the rear; No ABS (to save weight) No climate control or stereo (comes with option of aircon) No electric windows or mirrors (wires add weight) Door trims 1.5mm thinner than road going GTR No sound deadening 15 inch Enkei wheels (195/50 tyres); 1210KG (10KG more than the Grp.A homologation threshold) These cars are very very quick and it's not very hard to get 200KW out of them with just a pod and a 3inch exhaust to free up the airflow a bit. Okay so that should do for that, if you need more information google is your friend. My car is still in standard form but it is still very much a good looking and quick car. The suspension is amazing and this thing will out handle most other cars on the road, even when rallying the teams left the suspension as is from the factory it was just that good. The car has 187000km on it and although it came with a close ratio box it is now sporting a rebuilt standard GTR gearbox. I still have the close ratio but it is in need of a rebuild. The gearbox was built by Jaustech in S.A but sadly they no longer deal with the Familia. Car has Blitz Sus power pod, Custom made 8.8mm top gun ignition leads, NGK iridium plugs, K&N oil filter, has had nothing but synthetic oils since day one, Microtech turbo timer, Very good alarm, tinted windows, Factory option Air Con, Sony xplod CD player, Kenwood 6x9's on parcel shelf (these could do with replacement as could the parcel shelf), MOMO gearknob, goodyear eagle GSD3 tyres. Since I got the 32 I have not had the car registered and it has been sitting in the carport gathering dust (it's a sad sight for me) so the car is sold with no registration or RWC. Car can be test driven but I will need to get new battery and a permit so that it can be driven. The car was my daily driver up until 2008 and the only thing that needed replacing were tyres, brake pads and the gearbox, it never ever missed a beat. Would be perfect for getting into rally or hillclimb and also good as a motorkhana, targa or curcuit car. It's great on the road too and is not a cop magnet like the GTI-R, it actually will chew a GTI-R to pieces too I can't say much more about it, if you need more information or have any questions just contact me by PM, email, text or call the mobile. Remember this is a GTAe not a GTX with a GTR bonnet and front bar. Price is $9000 firm which is a bargain. CONTACT JARROD - 0402 316 156, email : [email protected] (in engine bar pic below there is a Blitz BOV, this is no longer on the car. It is back to standard recirc BOV)

could be lots of things. I just went through all this with my 32R. Check out my thread for a full rundown of it. I'd say could be balljoint, rack ends, bushes or springs to get you started.

WOW WOrp3D!! way to pick posts apart. Do you need a tissue, it seems we may have hit a nerve.

BOV will be leaking.

W0rp3d you my fellow skyline driver are a hippocrite. You don't like people making comments generalising truck drivers and then you go and generalise the whole Victorian Government. I think trucks should have to use the middle lanes that way us cars can go around on either side of you. Even truck drivers would prefer this as it's been brought up many times before about making trucks stay to the left. The bridge is hell and why, because of trucks taking their sweet ass times lugging their trailers up the incline. Should be no trucks allowed on there at all IMO. As for the tunnel lane markings they even say on the overheads to "avoid changing lanes". It doesn't say not to, just says to avoid it and this was only brought into effect after the tunnel fire along with the then new 80KM/h speed limit on the westgate.

HAHAHAAA!!!! LOL @ Dibbie Van!!! Dude they can defect you, any cop can if they want. Just because they arent' traffic cops don't mean diddley. It's like saying a chef can't make you a hot dog because it's fast food, or I can't play golf because I've never played before. Ok they are pretty average examples but you get the point. Oh wait I got a good one, like saying that a CFA firefighter can't put out a fire in the suburbs because it's not in the bush... Ok I'm giving up now... LOL @ Dibbie Van!!

Oil bath FTW!!!

You need to start looking interstate if you can't find anything locally. Seriously, these days you can afford to do it because the cost of airfares is so cheap. Just another option, you can also find dealers that include RAC checks.

The spring tension is there to adjust how fast your BOV closes after it vents. The vaccum hose on the top is what keeps it closed under boost. This could be your problem right off the bat. If you have it at it's weakest setting like you say you do then your BOV won't be closing fast enough or maybe not at all (until you stab the throttle which will cause it to snap shut. Adjust your spring tension to be firmer and see how you go. The Blitz valve is pretty loud if you have the trumpet on it but otherwise I've been told it's average. Mine had the trumpet but seriously consider either stock, GTR or after market recirc valve as the rich running, idle issues and wank factor of teh pshht noise of a poorly setup atmo BOV are not as ideal as teh recirc valve that does the same thing (legally) as any other BOV without the loud noise. But yeah I seriously doubt it's your coilpacks or anything evn remotely to do with your ignition system. This has air leak written all over it.

I own Canon 40d and can't fault it at all. Needs some faster glass and a few long lenses but apart from that it's perfect. 6.5fps and up to 1/8000 sec shutter speed. If I had to pick a fault in it I'd say it could do with some environmental sealing (same goes for the 50d) new 7d has rectified this. Nikon D90 is a good camera too and comparable to the 40d and 50d but also more expensive and only 4.5fps but is has movie mode too. Also look at the new Pentax K7. Full weather sealing including lenses and a damn fine camera. I would have got one instead of the 40d but they didn't have it at duty free. All of these cameras are going to set you back more than 1500 for body only, then you add the lense/s you want and it quickly multiplies.

Nismoid is right, TMU are just specialised in traffic laws, like the drug squad are specialised in drugs. Any cop is able to issue a defect on any car that is deemed to be unsafe or not within roadworthy specification. Some of the laws are a bit shitty but they are the laws and you either abide by them or run the risk. On the alignment thing, if your tyres are worn on inside or outside edge then they will obviously put that down to alignment issues hence the defect. Just get it all fixed and you'll be sweet.

After Service/oil Change, Oil Temp Has Risen? Rb26
BeEnAr replied to ohno1's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
mine is usually around the 90 mark, unless it's 48c outside then it got up near 150!! -
dropping revs and stalling is most probably them sticking open mate. I had this BOV on the rally car and it was a shitter for sticking all the time. Try put a couple of drops of oil into the mouth of each BOV then vent the valve a couple of times to get it in there. Should help. I used to just stab the throttle a bit to force it closed. Went with a GFB Stealth in the end and never looked back although my GTR is still sporting stockers.
-
BOV could be leaking or sticking open, put a couple of drops of oil in the mouth of the BOV, that will stop the sticking, if it's a leaky BOV buy a new one and put the stock back on.

Yeah but the tunnels and the WG Bridge lines are broken by cats eyes so "technically" they are a broken line. The phone one is more indepth too, you are only to use your phone as a phone apparently, this is aimed at the SAT NAV apps for iPhone and the nokia mobiles. Only way you are allowed to use them is if it's mounted to the car and you are not allowed to use them while driving, so to change a setting or re-route your trip you need to have a passenger or pull over. Interesting one about the video screens though, "cannot distract other drivers" this would also include the massive roof mounted rear screens and rear headrest screens, they are visible to other drivers so unless your car has 5% tints all round you won't be able to use those either. New number plate slogan for Victoria.... Victoria - The Nanny State, or Victoria - If it's entertaining or fun you can't do it here!!

I would walk away and find a better one, plenty of nice 33's out there

32 Gtr Suspension Woes!
BeEnAr replied to BeEnAr's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
car back from centreline, cv joint reconditioned, squeek seems to be coming from shocks. Coilovers is next after the front inner ball joints are done. Can't give Chris and hisa team enough props! -
Mr Muffler FTW!!! Dalder exhausts is okay but if you already have the dump just go to your mechanic to get it done. It's not hard.
