I had this problem on the GTR and it turned out to be the AFMs. They needed the points re-soldered. Although yours does soung like it's caused by the BOV sticking open. Wind the screw in a bit to help it close off throttle and put a tiny bit of oil in the vent to give it some lube. I had to do the oil bit on my GFB stealth on the rally car all the time

Bridgestone Adrenalin Re001 Vs Toyo T1r's
BeEnAr replied to RBwhatever's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Sorry to dig up an old thread but I just got rid of my jap tyres for some Adrenalins on the GTR. I replaced 2 front Bridgestone Playz 245/45/17 and 2 rear Bridgestone Potenza GIII (bald) 245/45/17. I got the adrenalins in 235/45/17 as they are not that much narrower than the 245 in width and they were about $200 cheaper per tyre. Do you guys know we get 2 types of Adrenalin in AUS... we get the Oz made ones and the slightly more expensive Jap made ones. I ended up with the Jap ones for $230 each and gotta say I am more then happy with them. ON MY Mazda Familia I have driven on Kuhmo ecsta 711 (shite), Falken 752 (not bad), Good year Eagle GSD3 (excellent), Yokohama S-Drive (excellent) and I can say that the adrenalins are much better tyres than all of them except the s-drive which they are about on a par with. The tyres that were removed from the front (Playz) are very similar in tread design to the RE001 and they were an awesome tyre, not once did I get any slip from them, where ever I pointed the car it went there. The tyres are about 1000kms old now so will give an update as they wear in a bit more which won't take too long seeing as I do 500km a week just driving to and from work! On a side note... One thing I will never compromise on is tyres. They are what holds you on the road, although I went the cheaper size I only did this because the difference in width was marginal so not really a compromise IMO plus I saved myself an extra $800! -
take it to a panel beater. They repair them all the time

Maybe it was just my tune. I read that Mines tunes the ECU to the mods that are on the car, i.e. If you have kakimoto exhaust, apexi turbos, blitz FMIC, SARD 600s, HKS Cam Gears, they will tune to that. In my case that was what was done to the maps. Trent tuned my NIStune last Friday and all I can say is WOW! The software is very very good and trent got as much as he could out of my car with current list of mods done. made 240kW and 388Nm on 14psi. Next step is to check wheels on the turbos and see if they are ceramic or not, if not up comes the boost! I am extremely happy with the NIStune as the car is now tuned for BP Ultimate instead of the 100 octane that Mines tunes for

R33 Gtr - Tachometer Wont Go Past 2,000rpm

My Fuel gauge does weird stuff like this. I will have a full tank for example and sometimes it just goes all teh way down to below the E. Like I have turned my car off, no fuel light comes on so I assume it just lost power to it. Then it comes up to just under a quarter then back down again. To get it to work I usually need to go round a right hand corner really fast or belt through a roundabout. Then it comes back up again. Pain in the ass really. -
I have a Yokoma Drift car but it certainly wasn't $130! more like 7 or 8 hundred when you add radio gear, ESC, Motor etc

As far as I was aware you can make holes so long as they are not structurally damaging hence the need for the Engineers cert. probably cost you a hundred bucks or there abouts to get it checked but good luck finding an auto engineer that is still open for business now. BUMMER!!

Licence Suspended - Busted Driving On Suspended Licence.
BeEnAr replied to r32gtrv-spec's topic in Victoria
You you are fast approaching the point of known repeat offenders police little black book. Once you're in there you'll soon realise you get pulled over a lot more. You'll get no sympathy here and if you do then that person is as young and dumb as you are. You'll cop 12 months on top of your 3 months so 15 all up plus a fine (and it's a steep one at that) expect no change from 1 grand including driving a turbo car on green P's and all this because you were to silly to take the train/tram/bus/bike or walk to where you needed to go. Hell even a girlfriend, mum or mate could have let you shotgun. Hope you learn your lesson from this one, if not, I don't expect to see you driving around in your GTR very often (at least licensed that is) -
Have my Dyno charts from last night re the above post. Here you go.

+1 for Status Tuning. Got my 32GTR tuned there last night and all I can say is TOP WORK!! Both Cat and Trent are probably some of the friendliest people I have met in a workshop. Trent explained everything he was doing and did a great job. I am very happy with the work he did. He also doesn't bullshit around or talk crap saying you need to buy this or you need to buy that. Chassis Dyno is awesome! it's weird it is very quiet compared to the rollers.

I have gear oil smell in my 32. I think it is the boot on top of the gearbox that is either gone or ripped. The one in the car where the stick is is fine, will rip it off one day to see the lower boot. If it's gone it's a $25 part from Nissan from memory

I would come but finish work at 7pm and then off to Status tuning by 8 to get ECU tuned

The Boulevard in Ivanhoe is the oldest, but fark trying to drive down it at night, they make it one way only and it is bumper to bumper hardly moving. Heaps of people walking on the road too. You would use a half a tank to drive the length I reckon. It is sponsored by the electricity company and the houses that do lights get discounted for doing it. I hear there are better ones round now though as most the people who live on the boulevard are too old now to do lights. On the cruise side of things though, people on the road + lots of cars = lots of cops and possible yellow Christmas windscreen decorations!

Maybe if you all had one of these they would have been like "awww what a cute hello kitty... DAMN!! Forgot number plate!!!!" Seriously though, that sux balls

There's the problem right there... The Sunroof. I am 188cm and my head sits out of the sunroof in my mates S15 so I have to bob down a little. I am fine in the 32 though, plenty of room and no sunroof to be had

One of the old blokes at my work had an E46 M3 and has a new Full stainless exhaust and coilovers he wants to get rid of. Might be able to get them on the real cheap. If you still keen I will ask him tomorrow how much he wants for them. He is thinking of getting him and his son 34 GTR's so was talking to me about my 32. PM me if you want me to ask him for you. Synthetic oil can shrink seals, they have known this since the 70's when they started to make synthetics. I wouldn't worry about it though as many people run synthetic oils and never see problems. I wouldn't run synthetics in a rotary though as it doesn't burn off like a mineral will. If you have the time and want to know some more info on oils and their additives etc. check out these links Motor Oil Bible Bob is The Oil Guy Motor Oil Myths and Facts The first one is in PDF format and around 170 pages but it is the most comprehensive and full of good info.

Not wrong there! I sent my ECU up on a thursday to my father in-law to remove my Mines Chip, we got it the Friday. Took the day to remove all the epoxy and still had to cut the chip out! Gave it to Pete (half of PLMS) who works on the desk next to him, Pete checked out the Mines map which was leaned out in the higher revs, speed cut removed and had 4deg of timing added across the whole map (yes that is all Mines did) then he fit the NIStune board and sent it all back to me very well packaged on the Tuesday. I got it on the Wednesday. Overnight delivery Via registered post from SA to VIC = AWESOME! Get mine tuned on Friday at Status Tuning, can't wait. Have the cable and software on my spare laptop too, it's very cool stuff.

Daily driver?? Go sprung centre for a start IMO, your left leg will thank you for it and so will your gearbox. Also go organic not ceramic, so in other words I rekon you go with the heavy duty or an exedy sports tough organic. Pucks are great for the track but a bitch in stop start

Gearbox/ Clutch Nightmare
BeEnAr replied to Aggroman's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
take it somewhere else, the warranty should cover you to any licensed workshop, but read your booklet and the fine print T's & C's
