  1. I had a similar problem to this on my mrs r31 N/A skyline if you put foot down to hard it would hesitae very badly then take off it turned out to be a faulty Throttle Position Sensor may not be related to your problem but maybe worth a look if all else fails.
  2. Thanx for the response what i would like to know is would either set up make more totoal power obviously the twins would be more responsive i understand that part big turbo=lag but can it be compensated by having to smaller turbo's with the same flow rate make the same total power output
  3. Ok i'll admit im a n00b with turbos i understand the basic principal of turbocharging but i get lost when we start talking compressor maps, efficiencies and air flow ratings the thing i want to ask is. For arguments sake lets say i had a rb26 running a single 700hp turbo would it produce as much or more Kw than the same engine with 2x 350hp turbo's on it all other things being equal. If the twins produced the same amount of power would it do it quicker than the single, due to having smaller area and wheels to turn. On paper the way i look at it they both should put out the same amount being both able to flow 700hp or does it not work the way.
  4. oh no there multiplying
  5. LOL that was the first thing my old man said when i told him i bought a stagea he siad what the f%#k is that. I explained to him it looked like a volvo and went twice as good then i showed him pictures of it and he fell in love with it.
  6. LOL chef i was wondering how long it would take you to find this thread
  7. Yeah thanx for the welcome and it is largely due to this community (as small as it may be) that i actually purchased a stagea would have loved a manual or a 260rs but the minister would not part company with any more $$'s than what i already spent (something about curtains). The info available on these forums is truly amazing this will be my first import of any kind and first turbo vehicle so once it gets here be prepared to bombarded with questions. I like all the sticky threads some great info in there my biggest hesitation b4 buying any import was with parts availability and interchangeability but after trolling through these forums my concerns were put to rest. Evan my old man loved the look of the stagea he's been a hot rodder for 40 years and is now into restoring old cars such as mini's and A and T model fords (nearly got him convinced to put a jap turbo motor in the model A) stock engine made 40 horse power in 1928 and had a top speed of 80km/h on wooden spoked rims
  8. While i was shopping around and believe me i did shop i looked everywhere i would see heaps of bog stock white ones with no mods and more km's than mine go for 15-18 grand so i think i got a bargain say 19000 on road with all the gear it has if i bought a stock one and put the $5000 or more worth of parts on it it would have cost me closer to 23000 so im happy with my purchase thats all that matters in the end anyway
  9. I wanted something uniqe and couldnt find anything i liked already hear this car just jumped out and appealed to me so each to thier own i suppose Yeah soz about the name only thing i could think of at the time, thanx for the tip on the bodykit as for taking moulds of the parts that could be done if you wanted to take the time and pay the money to have it done and they didnt need the car for to long i could let it happen of course they moulder would have to be in melbourne somewhere.
  10. Only just got the call today so as for price auction price of 845000 yen or there abouts. Sunroof yes, leather unknown. Compliance will be going to melbourne kamikaze or maybe someone else if some one can point me in the right direction there i would appreciate it. Car is being shipped to melbourne so would prefere a local compliancer instead of going interstate. Car will be going out for a photo session in the next day or two so i'll post up some more pics when i get them.
  11. Thanx for the replies guys i have just bought a car from japan thru Iron Chef Imports pictures and story here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/St...ic-t219260.html
  12. Hey guys/gals been a member here for a short time and after trolling through every part of this fine forum i decided our family needed a stagea. So talks began with the minister of war and she agreed to let me buy a stag so i jumped on the phone to Iron Chef Imports told him what i was after and let him do his thing. Every couple of days he would email me with the next lot of cars to go to auction and id let him know if i liked any of them. The one i ended up buying took me two goes to get it, first time we won the auction but the owner passed it in so i was spewin but two weeks later it came up again and i bought it for not much more than it was passed in for the first time .So i'll give you's some details and post up some photo's for you to have a look at and get some opinions on it. Ok here's what i know about it for sure. 1999 nissan stagea rs four v 53000 km's Grade 4 Colour Bayside Blue Full aero package (looks like rs260 but not sure someone maybe able to shed some light on it for me) HKS pod filter HkS FMIC and hard piping HKS exhuast 18" rims of some make Self closing and opening boot Floormats Other than that i cant tell you much more about until i get more photo's or it gets landed here i will keep u posted on the devolopments as it gets nearer to our shore's.
  13. Hi all im about to import myself a stagea im on a tight budget and looking around has given me an indication that vehicles with close to or over 100,00km's are much cheaper than those with under 100,000km. I was wondering if someone could shed some light on this obviously the 100,000km service would be due but is there anything else that would need to be done on top of this service to warrant the price difference ie turbo rebuilds and stuff like that or any other parts that are prone to failure at these km's. I want to buy the vehicle and still have a little bit of change left to do some mods or would i be better off buying a bog stock low km and saving up to do mods later on?
  14. Hey all been following SAU for a long time and finally the cash has come available to buy my first import. Having a family makes it difficult but i have finally decided to go with a stagea mainly due to the info available on this site. However ive ran into some weird things while searching around the net for a vehicle for example the same car available from 2 different importers at 2 extremely different prices is this very common? Anyway my names Andrew i come from central vic and am 30 yo.
