  1. R33 series2 80K's stock airfilter, cat back jap exhust, boost solenoid by-passed (boost limited by pipe restrictor to 7psi). Stock air filter, no apparent air leaks. Had car a couple of weeks, idled at about 550rpm, runs dead smooth idles smooth, accelerates well, no misfiring, running on shell V-power 98RON - but randomly stops at idle. Increased idle by turning screw on AAC valve 1/2 turn, now idles at around 700rpm - bugger! still cuts out usually waiting at lights (live in Adelaide - so car spends most of it's time waiting at traffic lights!) starts again straight away though and returns to 700rpm, so don't know whats going on. Anyone got any ideas why? Thought I'd strip the AAC valve and clean it with carb cleaner to see if that does any good. Might be good idea to check the plugs also what do ya reckon? Has anyone else had this problem?
  2. Hopefully here's a couple of photo's
  3. I plan to fit a TT boost controller in my '96 R33 series 2. But before I fit it, having read the boost controller install guide posted here, (excellent it is too!) I thought I'd try removing the factory restrictor from the red banded hose. When I went to do this I notice my car is configured differently. The solenoid is blanked off (length of hose joining the two pipes), the red banded hose connects one side of the tee to the wastegate, plain hose joins the other side of the tee to the intercooler pipe from the turbo and the third hose connects the tee to a smaller diameter pipe under the intercooler pipes?. The car runs fine but seems underpowered. Apologies if this sound dumb, but I've only had the car a couple of weeks. Why would you bypass the solenoid? Fitting the TT looks easy but I'd like to know why my car is plumbed the way it is before I change it? All help appreciated, cheers Mal.
