Hi All, Over the xmas break I hit a blow up kiddy's pool and managed to rip the front bar and all of the under car engine bay covers off. Kind of thought the car would hold up better than the pool but alas the pool is still standing and my car is rooted! All mounting brackets have either snapped or ripped off. I need to source a new front bar and also both LH and RH side wheel guards (not sure what they are called) the flimsy plastic inner guards and also the under engine bay cover. Does anyone know the easiest and most cost effective way of getting these items or does anyone have an idea of where to get some used ones locally? Its a series 1 sedan. I am happy to put a claim through insurance but am getting married soon and need all the cash I can. Cheers Lee

Iain, If you torrent the ISO can you let us know. That would be great. I had one but somehow ended up sitting on it! I always liked it when my Japanese friend cracked it at me and started telling me off. Always freaks out your passengers too. Cheers Lee

Personally I think the Coupes are great and if I wanted another 2 door car I would have got one however I wanted a bigger car and opted for the Sedan which I love. For the money you get quite a luxurious car which with the right aesthetic mods can look very agressive and sporty. Yes yes I know sometimes its commonly mistaken for a Maxima but thas only by people who dont know their ass from their head! This is a favourite jab by my friends. Put a maxima against a v35 Sedan and their is no comparison. "I can't believe that they are badged as a skyline..." What should they be badged, they are a 4 door skyline as with previous model skylines??? I dont get it! Just depends what you are after!

Hi Guys, Firstly, HUGE thanks to Andy for sticking at this when I am sure I would have given up ages ago. I cant wait to get the conversion. Secondly, with the above Diagnostics has anyone ever had this translated or does anyone know what diagnostics these are? Cheers Lee

Hi Guys, I purchased a Pop Charger from the states and have installed it with no dramas. Only one thing though, on the back of my original air box (behind the panel filter) there was a thin black rubber tube (5mm wide) that connected to some sort of sensor or electrical component in front of the engine. I could not see anywhere to place this in the pop charger assembly. Does anyone know what this is or what I should do with this? I am not a mechanic so therefore have NFI! By the way, awesome sound at about 4000 revs.... Cheers Lee

Hi Guys, This reset worked a charm: "Turn the key to the on position and watch the airbag light. It should stay solid for 5-7 secs, and then turn off, and then start to flash. To reset the light, you must turn the key to on, watch the airbag light stay solid for 5-7 secs and as soon as the airbag light turns off, turn the key to the off position (you have to turn the key to off before the airbag light starts to flash, or you must start over). You need to repeat this 5 times. Try to start the car, and hopefully the light will be reset" No more Air Bag flashing light or Nav screen warning!! Cheers Lee

I'll give it a whirl today and let you know. Thanks for your help!

Anybody Had Dealings Nagoya Motors ?
Leev_35 replied to The Factor's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
This is a bit of a grey area as the car is supposedly a 5sp Auto but when I picked the car up from the mechanic directly, he showed me the part and said it was the magnetic cluth in the CVT. YES he said it was CVT so I am confused. Anyway its all good now, a spring had gone in the magnetic clutch and it just made an annoying tapping sound from about 1500 - 2000 revvs. Cars perfect now and smooth as to drive. Cheers Lee -
Anybody Had Dealings Nagoya Motors ?
Leev_35 replied to The Factor's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Hi Guys, Yeah got my sedan from Alex, very helpful and friendly. Had a transmission prblem which took it off my hands for a week but they paid the $3k to fix it. I would definately by another car from them. Cheers -
Cvt8 Or Regular 5 Speed Auto?
Leev_35 replied to dacoyne's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I have a series 1, 300GT, I think they are 192 KW (not 171 - thats the maxima), I tested both 300 and 350 and honestly in the sedan could not tell much of a difference. I had an issue straigh away with my CVT (yes even the mechanic advised it has CVT). The magnetic clutch had a loose spring which didnt effect the performance or anything but it did make a very annoying clicking sound from about 1500-2200 revvs. The part + labour was $3300, luckily it was under statuatory warranty so all it cost me was 2 weeks without my car. -
Hi All, Is anyone sure the 350GT-8 is the only model with CVT? About a week after I picked up my 300GT Sedan I had to take it back and get the Magnetic Clutch of the CVT replaced under warranty as a spring had broken inside it and I was getting a bloody annoying tapping at about 1500-2000 revs. By the way is cost $3300 to replace this part. Mine is a series 1. Cheers Lee

Translation Of Japanese Button In Manual
Leev_35 replied to Aj007's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Thats cool AJ. Does your manual say anything about how to change the time on the LCD display, or does anyone know how to do this? Mines exactly 1 hour off and it bugs me!! Cheers Lee -
Hi Guys, I bought mine from Nagoya Motors in Caringbah (NSW) and found them a pleasure to deal with. I drove the car for a week and heard a clicking from the front end under mid range revs. Nagoya Motors honoured their stauatory warranty and spend thousand replacing the CVT which had a loose spring. I didnt have the car for 2 weeks but I didnt have to foot the bill so was happy with that .

Hi Warren I thought compliance required an immobilser but I kind of dont want to take any chances. I think I will go and get an alarm installed, I am just a bit warey of people who don't know what they are doing. P.S. I am trying the clear plastic polish today on my headlights. Just got my car back as it was at the dealer for 2 weeks getting the VTC replaced. Glad I didnt have to foot the $3300 bill! Thanks for your help Lee
-
Hi All, Does anyone know if there is a stock immobiliser in the V35's? My Audi had an immobiliser in the ignition which was de-activated by the stock key (had a little transmitter in the key body). If they dont have one as stock can anyone suggest a good one to install? Cheers Lee

The V Series Spotted Thread
Leev_35 replied to funkymonkey's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Hi Guys, Spotted a white 350GT Coupe with Infiniti badges on Christie Street (near St Leonards Tavern) at St Leonards on Friday night. very nice! -
Yeah that would be good to source some sort of protection for the lights. The dealer that I got the csr off said the "misting" was from a chemical they put on them in Japan to protect it from the snow. Not sure if it BS but I knew there would be something I could do to get them right and I had been able to polish most of it off so I let it slide!!
-
Warren, Your a legend. Thanks for the quick response. I have gone to Ebay and bought a bottle. Certainly a lot cheaper than the option of replacement. Cheers for your help! Lee
