  1. Hot - nicely done man
  2. Thanks for sharing Jay - I'm glad I didn't take photos in those days, I'm too impatient! I really like the last photo of the train too. A few photos from today at 12pm... no clouds
  3. Haha. Ugg boots are a tad odd looking... and big lol. Nice shots again guys. Whats up with the "I need to poo" face in the last shot?
  4. Awesome shot there Sidd! A couple of shots from the weekend of Chris and Renee at Simpsons Falls within Mt Cootha. It's a hike about 2km in from a little park at the bottom of the mountain. Lots of awesome forest to treck.
  5. Dan those shots are amazing. lol, sorry have to bring up something old matt... but shooting into the sun again! how dare you!

Rae has gotten back to me with a few more photos she wanted... I really liked the colour on her face. I felt she was looking up at something which words couldn't describe. So I wanted to show that more... The above image, cropped: And finally... something a little more feminine All the photos we decided on + the blog article can be found on my website: http://richardgrainger.com.au/story/portraits--rae-johnston/11

The fog one - it's awesome mate. You will need to hit up matt and sidd to help out with their model shoots. Sydney is quite a distance away haha.

The goal was to use only 1 strip soft box - which also fired on capture... so it was strobe and constant. In the first and the last photo, the light is directly above her. Slightly behind her as well. The second photo is to her left of course, bottom of the strip was around her waste almost looking down (Center of the box is the most bright). Also had a white board on her right side for that touch of bounce. F9 at low power settings and all shots were taken at 1/125 iso100.

Haha Nick - I can understand why, she is very pretty. Very fun too. She was awesome to work with. Sidd - she is constantly on the move with her line of work, which is pretty awesome for her. The strip light is definitely supposed to be in the photo. Without the light, it has a completely different feel to the photo. I wanted the 'shes crazy ass killer so put her in some special high tech FBI jail' look

I love the sigma mate. It's razor sharp (check out above photo). That was at F4 and around 10m away (Sorry dont have exact specs anymore). AF in low light is quite decent, accurate and quick. The IQ is amazing, BUT when I first got it, it was pretty horrible. I sent it back on day 1 and they recalibrated it. It was fairly soft and was about +20 out. When it came back I couldn't believe the quality. I purchased it new at $900 but it was discounted $400 as it was the 2nd last one available in QLD. The v2 is supposed to be softer but has IS/OS. It's around $1400 off the top of my head.

Haha, I'm glad you said that actually. The first thing I said was "I love it so much, because the first thing you think is, 'why is a model in a shed with crab pots and old fencing?'". We took quite a few photos and in different spots... That was my favourite Something like this might be more to your taste (These types of shots isn't really my taste though):

Some awesome photos in there Jay. It's a shame there are people in the world out there who would do that to you. Life isn't always like that mate... next time I'm sure you won't let that happen! On a side note, the first photo I have been able to take of my wife since she has been pregnant.

That first photo of the bride is amazing man. What clarity... Words like that Sidd are big confidence raisers man! cheers Hope everyone had an awesome Easter break. I went on a bit of a water sports trip with my mates. Took the camera Most of the time, the camera would bounce above my head when the best shots were available, so I was taking photos hoping for the best haha.
