  1. Erik think back to when I explained, over about 10 PM's, the difference between the front, dump and cat back pipes.
  2. *shrug* maybe some aftermarket cams or a HKS/aftermarket turbo perhaps. But 230hp on the same dyno I was making 245hp with an ebc set to 12psi and you only had 9psi doesnt seem right must be something in there, but the car is definately running very rich and the safc2 will sort that out.
  3. Yeah runs real rich you can see the AFR dropping off below 10.5 Hmmm, very interesting power, thats damn good. I would like to see the boost, when I drop into SST next I might ask steve what boost the car was making. Well, it all depends on how much power you want to make. If you think the extra 30-40hp will satisfy you then for the money spent on the safc and bleed valve you cant go wrong. If you want more power, ie: going to run a bigger turbo. I'd buy an aftermarket ecu that has some sort of boost control built in, like the powerfc or the wolf3d, rather than buy a bleeder and safc2. The best we have seen on a r33 gtst with a jap remapped ecu was mrgtst with around 285hp. Basically all he had was a HKS fmic, apexi avcr with the boost up around 12psi. Also keep in mind if you want to run a bigger turbo you will also need a fmic, if you are staying with the stock dont bother with a fmic, just back off on really hot days when you hear the engine pinging or if you do any track work.
  4. I dont believe everything I read on here. I just find the stock boost gauge pointless for the non stock turbo I'm running, as it doesnt read over 13.2psi. But as its goes from -7 to 0 to +7 with no other figures inbetween only marks I find it annoying and hard to read and I dont tend to look at the tacho constantly when I'm dring hard, I tend to look at the road and my other boost gauge which is mounted on a pillar gauge at around eye level to the road. *shrug* do whatever you feel suits you? Would you jump off a cliff if I told you to? This forum is full of "opinions" and my opinion is the stock boost gauge is shit.
  5. Its screwed because its in a bad spot and hard to read, the measurements on it dont seem to be linear or accurate and it reads in mmHG I think (from memory) instead of bar or PSI. The majority of boost gauges are just simply a vacumm gauge, so they dont have to be expensive to be good.
  6. 230hp with a 3" turbo back exhaust? Thats pretty damn good, are you sure its got a stock ecu? Would be interesting to see the AFR's. To get 245hp @ wheels I was running an ebc set at 12psi, turbo back exhaust and a fmic.
  7. $1000 wont get you an aftermarket ecu. Cheapest ones start around $1300-$1400 plus fitting and tuning, so probabaly around the $2000 mark drive in and out. Basically its hard to say how much peak power you will pickup as it depends on what other mods you have done. But the std nissan ecu runs very rich and you will gain a huge amount of mid-range to top end power. To give you an idea I'm getting about 322hp @ 12psi currently with my setup (I put in a bigger fuel pump and it richened the fuel back up as the stock fuel pump was getting too lean for my liking) when I put in my wolf3d and get it tuned I hope to make around 360-370hp with 1 bar or less of boost. But the biggest thing will be the much improved midrange through advancing the timing and running the fuel a bit leaner. I'm also hoping for a bit better spoolup from my td06-20g turbo, I plan to fit an adjustable cam gear to the exhaust cam at the same time too.
  8. the VIN is what tells them apart, ie: BCR33 is a r33 gts25t and BNCR33 is a r33 gtr.
  9. mine starts with rb25a and its a 1994 r33 gts25t.
  10. Quite simply work out how much money you have to spend and then go buy whatever you can get.
  11. Guys I think all this banter could be taken to another thread or PM's, lets focus on selling the car @ $16,000.
  12. Evening people
  13. The speed guns are extremely accurate and they take off 3km/hr on your reading as an acceptable variance. As usual your posts make no sense and are full of shit.
  14. I lost a string of points and got down to 8 points about 4 years ago. Then I got them all back and was sitting on 12 points till one morning on the way to work on a double demerit long weekend I got pulled over for doing 70 in a 60 zone. So currently I'm on 10, never lost my license. There's a time and a place to be stupid and thats called the track and the drag strip.
  15. Yeah its hard to tell its me... I look so stock Cant wait to pack 370hp instead of 320hp btw: I know of someone running the td06-25g and making a reasonable bit over 300kw @ rear wheels on stock internals, not sure how long they have been running this for and not sure how much longer its going to last.
  16. Morning. Hey paul you pulled into the BP as I pulled out yesterday morning
  17. denver
  18. I agree ken, the deal was done. Unfortunately people swap and change on here as they can hide behind the internet and their computers.
  19. not me
  20. http://www.r33skyline.com/Gallery/Gallery_...01/Image_06.jpg They look like the enkei rims... gonna look good on the car paul
  21. time for bed guys... 'night.
  22. Some people say boost kills the engine, some people say HP kills the engine. surely if you run enough boost to make xxxHP and the engine can only handle xxxHP then it shouldnt matter if its 1bar or 1.3bar should it?
  23. Talking to steve yesterday he seems to think pistons will be fine. Just if you get anxious and wind the boost up to make 400+ then it's going to do some damage within a week.
  24. Hope I'm right about what paul?
  25. Doesnt mention anything about internals and its making 440hp @ rear wheels... whats the limits on the stock internals?
