  1. I agree this section, forced induction performance, seems to be the best read and most information packed. The state sections tend to be filled with whore crap. Its good to see so many r33's been taken beyond the stock turbo, the more people who do it and then post their findings the more information we have and the easier it becomes for others to decide which way to go. Went for a blat this evening to get some petrol and milk and shit to keep the preggers wife happy and shit my car scares me sometimes... so much power and so little traction Although gtst-vspec has less traction than me, we went fishtailing down the road yesterday on the way to picking my car up from the panel beater after some truck driver wacked my car outside work. I am hanging out for my ecu now, then I can scare myself some more
  2. It is a very old turbo. Where did it come from, what vehicle did it come off?
  3. I think paul's is making full boost by 4000rpm.
  4. Mate I'm still running the stock manifold, so it wont be an issue. I reckon get a GT30 with a wastegate attached to the exhaust housing like mine bolt it onto the stock manifold. It will be laggier than paul's cos of the manifold but it will cut your costs by about $1200-$1400 dollars. Mine makes max boost by 4600rpm, it isnt a lag monster, but it aint like a stock turbo either
  5. Oh if you want 350hp at the wheels I'd go the same way as paul with the tubular manifold and the GT30. His exhaust housing is tiny compared to mine, but it makes good HP on 13-14psi... you dont want to run high amounts of boost on the stock internals, best if you can keep it under 1 bar or 15psi.
  6. Its running about 322 at the moment, as soon as we put the bosch 910 pump in it richened up the top end of the fuel map again So far the turbo's been on for 3 weeks, maybe 4 weeks now... havent had any issues, pulls like an ox, until the feel the stock ecu pulling the timing out and retarding and then dumping in a heap of fuel. I cant wait to get the wolf3d in, it will make such a difference, go for a ride in paul's car thats a monster, breaks traction so easily and pulls nice and hard. Steve at sst reckons 350hp @ treads is fine for the stock internals, just make sure you service it regularly... but with that sort of power you can be living on borrowed time, its not like our engines are spring chickens... mine is 8-9 years old now and coming up to 85,000km's.
  7. Yeah it was you gus, I thought you got more power than 255 *shrug* Nice curve though Holds boost damn well for a bleeder
  8. If I changed the exhaust housing to a smaller one I wouldnt make as much HP would I, on such low boost? I think I will change the manifold, but I'll go for the same design as gtst-vspec, a tubular one with steam pipe and then ceramic coated. This way I can keep it low mount and looking relatively stock to the untrained eye As for me saying its a lagmonster, I was poking fun, I dont think 4600rpm for full boost is that bad, it would be nicer quicker and I think its achievable if I do the ecu and the manifold... as I said give me about 5 weeks and the ecu should be in
  9. Well before I do my tune, I'm gonna pull my injectors out get them cleaned and flow tested. Then do a leakdown/compression test on the engine to see if there are any problems, then we'll tune it
  10. I heard your engine died due to tuning issues killert.
  11. I bought my turbo because it was cheap, cheaper than a smaller internal wastegate turbo.
  12. Mate last time you posted on here your compression was way down on 1 of your cyclinders wasnt it? I'd say its due to that and its farked.
  13. I'm gonna run day in and day out with 370hp, see what happens I guess.
  14. morning, just
  15. Isnt the JMS red r33 running 300kw+ at the treads on stock internals? Plus its not like they drive it like a grandma
  16. I think the basic moral of the story is anyone thats looking for a turbo upgrade, but still wants full boost quick like the stock turbo the hks gt3037 is the way to go Unlike my lag monster td06-20g with 16cm exhaust housing I cant wait to drop in the ecu and see if we can get the turbo spooling quicker.
  17. Anyway, bedtime.
  18. Heh, you are pretty unlucky macka I can have a look for you on sunday if you want.
  19. So whats wrong with the printer?
  20. Heh, whats wrong now with the printer? hehe, with a tubular manifold I'm sure the turbo will spool quicker, thats a given.
  21. Yeah, the female truck driver was backing into the loading dock at work with the tailgate down and it scraped the rear spoiler, took a bit of paint off and some chunks out of it.
  22. His is quicker, I think they will be simular once my ecu is done. His will probably spool at least 300rpm quicker. But if I change my manifold over I'm sure the gap would be very small. It will be better comparision when my ecu is done.
  23. Big mack... my cars back heh, all shiney again.... stupid woman truck driver. Just need an ecu now, went for a drive with paul today... man his car is scarey, but it goes sooo hard, gonna be hard for him not to bin it now
  24. Evening
  25. Well after looking at paul's turbo the exhaust housing is tiny compared to my td06-20g with the 16cm2 housing. Makes good boost quickly though, it really hammers
