  1. I bolted on a cusco strut brace and noticed no difference in the way the car handled... maybe I dont push it hard enough around corners?
  2. Ken, any pics or details of mods at all?
  3. Looking at my options, obviously I'd have to sell my r33. But My house has just been valued by the bank at $110,000 up from the $85,000 I paid, so I have a fair bit of equity on tap to use. So I could buy it now, and then sit on my car till I got the right price for it. Just doing the sums, lets not beat around the bush the GTR is the ultimate skyline to have I just get disappointed when I spend $1000's on my GTS-t and its still slower than a stock GTR
  4. Ken, you got details on the 1992 gtr pics etc?
  5. You've got to take tax out of that, plus expenses etc etc etc. I'd say he's done well, but he certainly isnt 1/2 a million dollar's richer
  6. http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/au/st...asp?StockID=736 thats the link have a look, I think it looks quite straight and clean for a 14 year old car, granted its only 3 photo's, but short of flying over there and looking you wont do much better.
  7. Its such bargain dont you reckon Ken?
  8. Yeah, but look at that r34 GTR thats what 2 years old and its shat itself... granted he drives it far too hard. Even if you had to rebuild the engine it'd still be relatively cheap.
  9. Anyone own a 89 GTR here? Just wondering how bad the interior is on it seeing as its 14 years old?
  10. damn another r32 GTR on prestige... I think I *want* one now
  11. It is quite a long process mrsnrub and can cause a few nervous moments, but when the vehicle rocks up and its straight as and drives well it as worth the while. I know a few people that have imported themselves through prestige and they've been pretty happy and then I know people who have bought through yards and are happy as well. Damn, there's another 89 gun grey GTR on prestige's website, its fairly stock so you could bring it in now for an extra $3k or wait and save $3k if the laws stay the same... either way its a friggen bargain at $21k if you bring it in now.
  12. Damn straight I want that 13, the cars more than capable of it... the question is am I, and so far thats a no
  13. I'm thinking of going down, anyone else ineterested in coming?
  14. The way importing works, rough guide. (this is how it happened for me). Buy compliance plate, pay "service fee" (i didnt use prestige but someone else whose fee was $500), find vehicle, vehicle price is FOB (free on board, in other words I paid a buying fee, which is to cover all paperwork, de-rego, travel to and from dock and loading onto ship, plus commission to the sales person. This can vary from 50,000yen to 100,000yen so I'm told), vehicle turns up at freo dock, goes through customs + quarantine (use a customs agent costs a bit more but easier for you), pay custom's fee's, inspection fee's, import duty, gst, shipping fee's. Car then goes to compliancing etc etc etc. I doubt geoff would make any money on the sale, I would say his income is basically the service fee. There is a lot involved with importing, yes you save money, but you dont see the car till it gets here, except for photo's, and you dont get to drive it so its a lottery. Havent seen too many bad examples though.
  15. This is true, my kit which I think is the same as that guy whose just run a 12.9 1/4, took about 2 hrs to fit once the bar was off. The beauty about the jap stuff, its literately bolt on shit, bolts straight up to the existing mounts, pipes fit exactly, just the front bar needs trimming and depending on how aggressive you want to go, as with mine about 95% of the core is exposed, good for flow bad for bent fins and getting bugs stuck in it. The R-SPL HG kit has a 28C core and 32/33 end tanks which means its uses the original holes so the return pipe travels behind/under the cooler. All I need is a better ecu and maybe I can run some 12's
  16. That'd be right spoiling our fun
  17. Yeah, I wouldnt expect I'd have much if any oil in mine... its only done 5000km's but I'll be putting the catch can on asap
  18. yeah, just a light coating. The new cooler's only been on a few months, so hopefully it isnt full of oil. How do you flush an intercooler?
  19. Things are cheap in singapore too... I picked up an apexi twin chamber bov for around $300AUD, most places here wanted between $450-$500 for it.
  20. Cam cool... I ordered the sard one off taka, after seeing the oil in my intake manifold I figure it'd be a good idea
  21. Evening all. Cam what catch can did you get? For those people I met on friday night at the cruise it was good to finally put a face to the name, but I'll probably forget it
  22. When I have a working scanner I'll scan my dyno sheet. At 4800rpm my boost drops off from 12.5psi to 10psi immediately, within probably 50-100revs and then slowly tapers off from 10psi to about 9.5psi by 6630rpm at which peak power is reached. Its quite odd and has something to do with the NVCS, hopefully once I remove the ECU and fit something else up it'll get rid of the problem.
  23. I dont know if this car is gone yet or if anyone has put dibs on it, but its pretty depressing. In 2004 my car will be 10 years old, this one will be 15 years old, but from the photo's it looks reasonably straight. Even if you paid $17k for it still has to be the BEST bargain I've seen in a long time. Now I'm all depressed about my car http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/au/st...asp?StockID=730
  24. On the same dyno my car only has about 190hp at 4700rpm to make 245hp peak power by 6630rpm. I figure once sorted dave should be making around 280hp
