I mean seriously if you wanted to spend that much on this car (and it wont be a road based car) why would you bother finding such a nice example to start with? I would have searched around and bought a bunky 15 year old r32 GTR and saved the money upfront to spend down the track. Also seeing as this car will hardly be driven on the road and only on the track I still cant see the point of it all. Mate you must have more money than a bull can shit. Spare me some?

I did. I found a peak output of 10hp more as well as a midrange improvement and the stock turbo spooled from 2500rpm instead of 3500rpm... worth doing if you plan on keeping the stock turbo. I was until I came across the td06 at a reasonable price

My engine died at somewhere between 340-380hp. I'm not sure as it wasnt dyno'd fully before the compression went on cyclinder 6 and 3 when the ringlands failed. Boost was around the 1.1-1.2bar (probably spiked to 1.3bar early on in the rpm limit and then settled down to 1.1-1.2) Pulling apart the engine we found that all the engine components were in excellent condition it was just a couple of weak ringlands that spoilt the fun. Just goes to show that you should always service the engine with good quality synthetic oil and regularly

Fubar turbo no, no compression on cylinder #6 and #3 yes Thats what you get for running 1.2bar on a td06-20g on a stock engine I should have played with my boost controller Ah well... being rebuilt with forgies now.

As far as I am aware the car has also been in a accident of some sorts recently. I dont know the full details but I would speak to bambam privately about it. Before anyone flames me for it I think its only fair as manual did ask for the history on this vehicle.

Simon @ sst has a mate who does it. Whilst my engine is in pieces I am getting the rocker cover and cam cover painted up.

When my car got here from japan it had a very bad vibration at over 80km/hr. they aligned/balanced the wheels during compliance but it was still playing up. in the end it was the tailshaft, we pulled it out and had all 3 uni-joints in it machined out and replaced and all was fine again. But it does sound like an alignment problem, get that done first as its cheaper than pulling the tailshaft off and getting that fixed, to give you an idea it was $120/joint and there was 3 joints... not to mention the time taken to remove the tailshaft.

the stock one is good at low spoolup, even faster if you fit; 1. lightweight flywheel 2. exhaust cam wheel (retard 4 degrees) 3. 3" dump pipe straight off the turbo to a decat or 3" cat pipe 4. hks exhaust camshaft 5. learn how to use the search tool tool.

My series 1 afm is sitting out in the shed along with my stock ecu. let me know if you want to borrow it mate.

How do I know if its stuffed? I think the car needs a checkup, just feels toey with all the power.
