    Look out

    If I was you I'd be ringing up canberra (the number is on the forms you filled out for import approval) and chase them up, it takes ~3 weeks during non-peak times, so I'd expect 4-5weeks max... just remember for every day it sits on the wharf it costs you money in wharf charges.
  2. another one;
  3. Pics of exhaust;
  4. Get a jash pipe they really are quality items @ reasonable prices. I love the look at noise they make.
  5. Thats what I have on mine, if you want a listen let me know.
  6. Paul, lets go to SST on wednesday next week around 7:30pm after I get the fmic fitted, that ok steve?
  7. Ok, find out how much the exhaust places charge for a custom made unit and then compare it to the unit Jash @ c-red sells. $1k, stainless steel quality, 3.25" cat back (no resonator so maximum flow, tad loud but not the loudest I've heard) and it can be fitted in 10 minutes as it bolts straight on and into the existing mounts (just make sure the old exhaust is cold before you touch it ) Its been proven on the dyno to give a good increase in HP, looks good with large barrel and angle at back (I'll attach some photo's if interested when I get home). So up to you, most places with custom exhausts will require the car for a day to make the exhaust up for you.
  8. Sweet FREE dyno!!! Coolo, what are your trading hours steve? I went with the Trust unit as I feel if you are planning on making some serious HP you need to use the best parts. I still havent decided on how high I want to go and there is no point wacking on a cheap australian made fmic and saving a grand or so and then deciding I want more power. Also japanese know their shit, they've been modifying cars far longer than us and it bolts straight into the car easily and matches up to the existing pipes in the engine bay so for ease of fitting its great. I'm not bagging australian products, we make some of the best ECU's (motec is used by some serious 9 second GTR's etc), but I just think the japanese bolt on stuff is top shelf.
  9. Yeah take it to a mech, you may have done a valve or something, either way its not good to be doing 240 and the car detonating.
  10. Anyone done their own cut&polish? What products did you use? Good/bad feedback? Or should I just pay someone to do it? I've been using turtlewax colour finish (I think), the one thats meant to restore it and its okish but it needs a good cut&polish I think.
  11. Yeah its just a pop, not a huge backfire... yeah its cool, there is one corner on the way home if I get the green light I can wind it down from 80km/hr to around 40km/hr and drop it into 2nd and I got a nice pop out the back... I suppose if I had a dump+front pipe and no cat I'd get flamage
  12. Nothing beats the genuine nissan skyline floor mats, look shmick with the genuine nissan skyline metal badges I think a dash mat would make it look like a granny's car
  13. how much for dyno run?
  14. nah, mines a black r33, but we did a before and after dyno at SST. Then roy @ c-red fitted it up and we did the dyno again, 15kw gain with exhaust and then you adjusted the timing via the CAS and we got another 5-7kw. I've upped the boost via an blitz EBC and run 2 settings 0.6bar (95% of the time) and 0.8bar and now I've got a trust fmic to go in.
  15. Steve that was probably my car *grin* We got 15kw with exhaust and another 7kw from the CAS.
  16. I have a japanese unit made to look and flow like an apexi n1, see jash @ c-red and tell him rob with the black r33 sent you and he'll look after you. Great exhaust note and I gained 15 rear wheel kilowatts from it alone.
  17. An atmo bov will increase the backfires as its venting air to the atmo instead of back into the air intake making the afm compensate with more fuel, which means car runs richer and backfires. It used to happen on 90% of my gear changes so I got rid of the atmo bov and went back to the std one, though when I downchange at 3000rpm or more it backfires too. Need to get an SAFC to lean it out a bit.
  18. Yes, but its quite large... so unless you are going to run a huge turbo, hks gt3037 or something like that it seems an overkill.
  19. I'd rather not have my own name on a shirt I wear I think lets just keep it simple, black with the skylineaustralia.com logo (with rear lights) on one side of the chest. Put too much stuff on it and it'll look stupid and ricey.
  20. Yeah, will do. Looking forward to getting it in, I wont be running 0.8bar all the time but it'll sure help when I am. You gotta remember though this will be around $3k fitted all up, you gotta be thinking about whether jap stuff is really worth that much when you'd probably get a good aussie job fitted for $2k. Should be more than enough for 450-500hp, which I'll never get to... rather buy a GTR
  21. I've got a trust kit going in, 600x244x76mm... I'll let you know how it goes with the stock turbo and running 0.8bar of boost.
  22. Nah, thats speedworks floor Although I have had parts shipped to work so the mrs doesnt find out
  23. pic 2
  24. Ok, here are some pre-install pics of the trust cooler. Its a 600x244x76mm core (tube and fin core) as you can see from the photo's its designed to use the standard intercooler pipes in the engine bay (which I think I'll replace at some stage with trust polished aluminum ones anyway). The pipe below the cooler flows from the left side to the right side and up into the engine bay, however if you went for the trust plenum I'm sure you could adapt the piping up the left side of the engine bay. Its going in next wednesday (and the cars getting a much needed service). I'll try and get some pics of it being installed (just walk down to speedworks in my lunch break) and then some more pics once its installed, looks like we'll have to trim some of the stock front spoiler to give more airflow to the cooler. Anyway... enjoy
