  1. out the box GTR Nissan quoted a 13.2 I think, so you would say around a low 13. vspec slightly heavier but then you have an exhaust which should give you more torque and power (a little anyway) so that may counter the extra weight of the v-spec. Obviously this would have been with a gun jap driver. i think you could safely say with fliter and exhaust and no tune, you should hit a low to mid 13 without too much drama. Any faster and you will need to look at a tune to get things working properly and then flat 13's, high 12's would be attainable. Then add dollars to take off time, one you get to low 12's, high 11's, talk big dollars for each 10th of a second you want to shave
  2. mate I too am experiencing the delays this process can take: thus far: 1. pay hunting money fee on 19 June 2. car of interest comes up on 28 June 2008 and won at auction for 1,000 yen over authorised FOB price (meh) what's 100 bucks. 3. 30 June 2008 - payfor car, compliance plate deposit and some other crap. 4. 27 July receive email advising car will be shipped from Japan on 29 July 2008 and arrival in approx 2 weeks (mid Aug). 5. I email on 4 August 2008 at about 8.30 am to ascertain/confirm date I need to pay more money (shipping, customs etc) so not to incur unnecessary interest costs by drawing money too soon. 5a no reply that day so on morning of 5 August I call up and ask for confirmation date, get told, sorry car missed boat, trying to find out why, will call you back. 6. 6 hours later I call up and ask WTF happened?? get told he will call you back in 5 mins. 7. 1.5 hours later I call up again and say thanks for the call back, oh sorry, guy is busy, ill put you thought: story is apparently the stevendores at the port in japan thought the car was too low and did not want the to damage it, but there is another ship leaving tomorrow which we are trying to get the car on, will call you tomorrow am and let you know. 8. Wait until 10am the next day (and send email asking for good news?? 9. At 3.00 pm still no reply or call so I all up again, no car did definately not make the boat DOHHHH, so what now??? get told next boat leaves on 25 August. Container ship leaves earlier, but more risk of damage, more cost and it actually arrives 2 days after the 25 august RIRO. I ask what will be different next time, get told, agent is going to the port today to jack up Tein adjustable suspension and if still too low, will remove front lip and side skirts....
  3. i can eat a peach for 4 hours straight???
  4. that's rubbish, pay the extra 1,000 yen on Nengun for special packaging instructions and have them write on the item 'warranty replacement items to customer'. import/customs duty free. Alternatively, shoot Henry at RMS a line, tell him the delivered price you have and ask him if he can beat or match - takes the risk out of it!
  5. depends mate entirely on what kind of job you want done and how much you want to spend. For a truly show car finish, back to metal will be required but this is going to cost mate, not sure on exact price per litre of paint but labour and paint back to metal (on the assumption no dents.rust) you will not have much change from $7,000

  7. v nice ride dood
  8. well I might take that on board, load the boot up with all my crap and go driving around to the various places to get a quote in the flesh to install and tune.... problem is I just found out my car which I thought was booked on the 29 July boat, for some reason did not make the boat and is STILL in japan.....auction was 28 June
  9. it is a standard line for ending a letter and protecting your position as far as costs go, and that letter was not written by Nissan but by their solicitors
  10. ^^^ $5k to assemble an engine and install in a car is cheap mate! I am getting quoted over that to fit cams, cam cover baffle kit, cam cup stud kit, evc, pfc, water pump, timing belt etc, manifolds, dumps, turbos, fuel pump and injectors on a 33 GTR and change fluids.... oh that includes a tune of course. Speak to people over east and they are talking $3k tops... Would be cheaper for me to put the car on a truck tranporter to Sydney and back but thhe risk of damage in transit aint worth it I reckon. At this stage I am looking at going with x-speed who are pricey but I know the job will be done right the first time. UNLESS anyone here has other ideas??
  11. nahhe said that he will send you a black one that you have to cut yourself for the same price....?? scroll down to the bottom of this link mate http://www.uniqueautosports.com/pricelists...t_gtrturbos.htm

  17. well indirectly yes, but, smart ass, I meant legally and I thought that was fairly obvious from the context of my post where I offer to draft up a letter but meh
  18. check your coolant for oil...... could be a HG
  19. haha gold, I snorted coffee over my keyboard when I read that
  20. any workshop that receives the 'letter' from Nissan SHOULD definitely send a legally informed reply particularly given they are attempting to set you up for an indemnity costs order by the 'reserve the right to rely on this letter'. That needs to be formally replied to. If anyone does get one of those letter, feel free to PM and I can draft up a reply to go out on your company letterhead. Yes I am qualified!
  21. well firstly can I start off by saying unfortunately I am a lawyer, take this or leave it, it is up to you. Firstly, yes a defect notice means you are suspected of having a defective vehicle. Secondly, if you now have evidence (which you seemingly do) that your vehicle was not in anyway defective, then you should copy that evidence and write to the fines adjudication officer in your state and ask that they consider withdrawing the complaint against you without the need for a court appearance as the your vehicle has been inspected in its current state by the relevant licensing department who confirm the vehicle is not defective. At the end of the letter you should write, 'you reserve your right to rely on this letter and any response in support of a claim for costs'. If they continue to press the complaint against you, then you go to court, you request the magistrate's permission to hand up the evidence you had sent to the Police adjudication officer in your defence to the complaint. In all likelihood, unless I am missing something, you will be found not guilty. You then request permission to be heard on the issue of costs and hand up the letter that you wrote to the fines adjudication officer. Say that you seek to rely on that letter in support of an order that the Police pay your costs fixed at (insert figure calculated on total costs of time off work and cost of the vehicle inspection). when you say eg 'fixed at $400'. You continue and say, the basis for the $400 sir is as follows....... end of matter
  22. series 3 R33 GTR
  23. old news mate: A script for "Top Gun 2" was completed shortly after the release of the first film, but it broke down in pre-production because 1) the military's technology had become updated and they didn't want camera crew anywhere near their new aircraft and 2) Cruise did not want a sequel and finally agreed to star in one for a very high amount that was deemed "unaffordable." The script followed the further adventures of Maverick as an instructor at the Top Gun academy, the twist being a cocky female reminiscent of himself joining the team.
