Mind me asking what alarms/etc it had? 20 Min is pretty quick (in the sense of it wasn't planned), ie they just happened to be waiting at the shops and jumped on it the second u were out of sight? Though if they were waiting for the chance, perhaps they had a towtruck a few min away?

I was under the impresion that if you received a more serious charge from the police, you would not be covered. Ive just looked through my policy, nothing to say 'if you're being a dick..." *but*, theres a clause listing "if your car is being used in a race, trial, test or contest" you wont be covered. Another section says the same for any "circuit" (ie race track), so they differentiate the 2.

I enjoy these sorts of photos. Makes me smile seeing some hero write off his car I'd suspect his insurance company is also going to say "NO CAR FOR YOU!"

Its nothing personal, though at 18 you have only had so much experience. And since the insurance companies take this view also, ure insurance will be high.

I was there 5 minutes not even after it happened, police had only just started to direct traffic. Took me a good 4-5 minutes to figure out what sort of car it was. Was utterly FKD, and I use to own a R32! Tough times for all the familys involved.

Don't bother with insurance. Youve got a much higher chance of smashing ure car into a pole and dying than u do of having it stolen. Keep the money so you can leave it to your family.

Raising an old thread here... Whats everyones views on the tint job now that theyve had it for abit? Could someone also PM me his contact details so I can arrange to get a car done (provided ure happy with ure job )

Ok, but what Im saying, is that if you list tints for example, thats fine. But what if your tints are 5% above the legal limit, in that case, they would be entitled to refuse payout, because its a defect? It'd be a complete arsehole act, but its doable....?

Has anyone had problems with dark tints and insurance payouts? EG more than 35% or there abouts is deemed a defect. If your car has a defected mod, or unlisted mod, when it comes time for the insurance company to pay you out because you just wrote off your car, is or could, this be a problem?

Other than the sick feeling many of us are sharing, im speechless. I'm sure it will make many of us slow and not push it to the limit as much...for the next few weeks at least.
