  1. HI ALL,

I will be the owner of a GTR '33 v-spec soon and I would like some further help with HICAS from knowledgable peeps with past experience.I have read most of the topic post from the past but most were 2003/4 posts and i'm sure things are different now with the aftermarket products and easy fixes available.

Firstly what are the porblems HICAS can cause?

and what are the advantages/ disadvantages with or without it ?

Secondly what eliminator kits are available now and cost roughly?

who can fit them or easy to do yourself?

I live on brisy northside and will be looking for a tuner/mechanic with extensive knowledge of RB engines and GTR's preferably that aint guna rip ya off if anyone can help with that also?

I have been quoted roughly $1200 for a HICAS eliminator kit, which i thought "shit that must be the best of the best" considering i had seen the tomei ones in past posts for $295,

but are the tomei ones a lifetime fix or a get by till ya can afford the best of the best lifetime fix?

also unplugging the electronic motor behind the diff, is this a quickfix or a permanent solution?

and does this create dramas with a straight driveline on the rear tyres with regards to toe in/out?

Please help one confused mutha#%&$er!!!! Thank you in advance!!

  2. hi peeps havent been on here for ages but lookin at gettin a skyline again, r33 gts-s with a fair bit of mods to engine, suspension, exhaust, turbo, seats, body kit etc. buying car from victoria and registering it in queensland where i am living. just wondering to keep the coppers happy and off my case with defect notices and crap like that if and when pulled over. what are the legit ways to beat the harrasment and fines for "illegal mods" in their eyes??

i have heard getting mod plates? like engineers certificate? and rego and insurance obviously. are mod plates a good thing to get done and does anyone recommend anyone good to do this in brisy if so?

    appreciate any useful input!!! cheers

ps. it does have a stainless custom screamer pipe which from reading another post from the past, these are illegal and wont be mod plated?

  6. Oh sorry, didn't realize I had to get your approval before posting a comment. It's a discussion forum so there's a discussion relating to thefts, get it ? Your opening post is still up there and no one's gonna miss it, if anything further comments only ensure it stay near the top and doesn't get buried in a day or so.

    So chill the f**k out.

a lite hard to chill at the moment dennis if you didn't think about that comment once again! you really are bored aren't you posting all this negative arguementative gargbage.......pleeease quit it.

  7. Oh well, if you've done everything you can and it still gets stolen, what the f**k can you do ?? That's what insurance is for.

I don't have contempt for the victims I'm not sure what gave that impression. I've just seen too many instances of skylines being stolen and then posts on SAU like this one and when asked about alarm / insurance its usually "oh I was about to do it soon".

In the end, what the f**k is anyone here going to do about it ? It's a matter for the police and even they have close to no chances of finding it if it's gone straight to a chop shop.

On a related note .. GPS tracking isn't so expensive anymore. I paid about $500 extra for a simcard module that sends me an sms if alarm is triggered plus I can track it to within 50m of its location. Something for everyone to consider if their car is irreplacable. Look I'm not trying to be unsympathetic but I'm not sure what purpose threads like this serve .. are we all supposed to be on the look out for the 20 odd skylines stolen every month ?? Unless its a joyride theft, chances are it will never been seen by anyone again and your only recourse is to go through the insurance company and hope they pay out. And then consider additional security such as gps tracking before getting another one..

I hope the OP finds his car but I'd say chances are slim.

the purpose of this thread is if someone happens to try to get offered spare parts from my car and they may by chance have read my thread and think twice and inform me so the f**ks that stole can be caught up with!!!!!! thats why there is engine and vin numbers smart asre!!! yes the chances are slim of finding anything but if you do nothing, nothing happens!!! now please stop causing argumentative comments and waist everyones time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
