  1. SK - Since I have an Rb30 block I don't have one of these, but the pipe coming out of the two bolt flange on the exhaust side of the RB25 (near the first head bolt), does this just join to the crankcase with no valves etc? Is it just for pressure equalisation of the top and bottom like on the old cosworth motors? It looks that way from the one I had a glimpse at.
  2. www.calaisturbo.com.au. Been covered HEAPS of times.
  3. Thanks for the replies, haven't been on for ages. Yeah the car was cheap as because it had a cactus motor (or so I was told) but I know it drove alright and all that. Had oil through the air flow meters etc etc so it ran like a dog. But it was horny-as! (Like all R32 GTRs. I love them to death) Yeah I found out how much I could have got it for and almost died. Wanted to kill my contact for not telling me he was ready to sell it. Put it this way, to put a new (wrecker) RB26 in it with turbos and airflow meters would have cost more than the car. And the killer..... It was Australian delievered.
  4. I am seriously pissed off because I was meant to be informed when I could buy this car, but the dude was too slack to tell me. Now I find out that someone in Toowoomba has bought it. It is painted in the falken race colours and was at Haulmark trailers/Falken in Oxley. If anyone knows him, I would like to contact him. Thanks.
  5. Easy Dave. Yeah they are for Al. But your mate can't get GTR heads for a while now so I have to see what the deal is. Thanks dnb. I'll get back to you
  6. As the topic says.
  7. Hey Alex will you take direct deposit if I get you to build me a 1100hp RB26? 80 or 90k should cover it yes? I will deposit the money this afternoon if you PM me your details. I need the motor to race at saturday test'n'tune at willowbank. Thanks mate you're a legend.
  8. Standard 26 inlet including throttle bodies.
  9. Thanks SK. I didn't have Greddy plenum to measure so that helped me a lot. Good job once again
  10. Att: SK! I want one because it makes my eyes hurt looking at the standard Rb25 inlet! Honestly its that bad I'm considering switching over to a GTR head because I have a GTR inlet. If I run the Greddy plenum I will have like a metre less inlet length won't I? My main preference with the car is to have minimal lag. You mentioned using a U-turn right in front of the throttle body. it look kinda rough, what are your experiences with that? What about that fugly throttle body relocation to the front of the plenum?
  11. Yeah I would be keen along with another guy I know
  12. Man this sh1t is good for a laugh.
  13. The R32 and early R33 models run the 8-point star drive and the half moon that comes out from that locates the CAS in the right position. Like Predator said Late R33s and R34 cams run what looks like a single strip of metal deep down inside the cam which I think is offset to prevent 180 degree mis-alignment. Also R32s are hydraulic cams and R34s are mechanical. I know early R33s are hydraulic cams but I would not be surprised if the late R33s are mechanical cams. Unsure. But I'm guessing you're getting no zap zap at all out fo your motor
  14. The cams are a good choice. I don't see anything wrong with them although I would use more lift. But with more lift you will need to machine the head. I have 9.9 mm of lift on STD base circle and the head needs machining to fit the lobes in Paul - Do you have the @ 0.050" figures?
  15. Even if the base circle is the same that doesn't mean the clearances should be the same. The profile determines what clearances to run and what shims to use. Plus when you measure the base circle you are measuring part of the ramps so you can't tell what the base circle is. Perhaps Tomei copied Nissan ramps perfectly. maybe... But its still hard to get a consistant enough finish to justify no ramps. Also with mechanical cammed motors, over time the cam doesnt' wear, instead it pulls the valves back through the cylinder head and the clearance grows which makes the valves seat harder and the process doesn't stop. Thats why clearances must be checked regularly. I would check them to make sure if I were you. All the compenents we are talking about aren't as consistant in machining and setup as you may think.
  16. If you're paying anywhere near $1800 for a Greddy plenum you better slap your salesman. Also you're right - you will pay $450 for a GTR plenum. But try and find throttle bodies and and the manifold as well with linkages as a complete package. Obviously you have never tried to find any of this stuff
  17. Did they say not to modify the shims? I take it you checked them and they were all within spec?
  18. Depends if you are putting it on an RB30 block and its in a VL commodore...
  19. Was going to put the Gtr plenum/trottle bodies/manifold on my 30/25 but once I put the spacer in it sits too close to the brake booster. Wondering if anyone has an R33 Gts-t Greddy plenum they want to swap for the GTR setup.
  20. Hey people. I need to have a look at the lower runners off an RB20 inlet manifold. I figured there would have to be heaps lying around and if someone in Brisbane has one I would really appreciate it if I could have a quick 2 min inspection of one. Thanks Luke
  21. Okay I think I need to see one. Off hunting I go...
  22. Oh crap so the RB20 and RB25 mating surfaces are different? Not good at all. Anyone have any idea if the runners are parallel in the RB20 anyway?
  23. I'm going to have a red face I can tell but... what is that? Some sort of wild mods to the 5th and 6th cylinder?
  24. Someone has to have some RB20 runners lying around???
  25. You will come across the problem that cylinders 3&4 dip down on the RB25 lower runners to make them equal length. This to me seems like the biggest problem. ***Does anyone have an RB20 lower runner section that they can look at for me!!!****
