  1. Gee whiz, thats a big turbo! Bolt that on your car!
  2. Oh I hate them. Yeah doesn't it amaze you how it seems like you learn more in a good week than four years at Uni? Must be all that boozing and sleeping....
  3. INASNT: Don't you hate telling people? Everyone thinks you're a nerd and can't do shit. Which is actually a good asumption cause 95% the guys at Uni are exactly like that. Being a minority sucks eh?
  4. Rb25 (as compared to the Rb20) looks like you've got the RB20 gearbox and inflated it like a balloon. Can't help you much more than that, I'm sure someone can tell you splines, measurements etc. But yeah the 25 case is quite visibly bulky to hold more shit.
  5. Cool. I heard you've got that automated grinding thingo where you walk away from the machine and it dresses the wheel and does the phase changes and everything. Sounds pretty good. Bit of an electrics whiz eh?
  6. REV210 - I make Adj. Cam gears to delete the VVT if you're interested. Otherwise, yes we do cams for RBs with VVT. Just a different profile and lobe centres to suit.
  7. INASNT - We can do any camshaft. We are the only camshaft manufacturers in Australia. Our facilities are the most impressive in Australia (Cause they're new and neat). And from a true engineering point of view - Yes ours are the best quality. TRUE ground finish, with an ultra-light series of cams on the market too. I have a bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and the boss (Dean Tighe) has an A.D. in Mechanical Engineering. Ivan Tighe makes valves now and co-designed the Repco/Brabham F1 V8, AND he still races his BDA powered open wheeled Kadicha Hill Climb race car. The thing is nuts - and he's 73!! Crane Cams is American. Sorry about the blurb. OK READY? In a bucket actuation such as the RB series motors, the camshafts need to be made from Iron. Problem is, you can't make Iron billet camshafts in the RBs length and diameter (Too slender- hard to machine) The way around this is we can make billets from our steel, then the buckets would need to be chrome plated and journals and lobes would need oil holes drilled. JEEBUS they look good but. Doing some 7MGTEs for Toyota in Canada, same style of cam and they look sweeeet. Cost - Not sure call Dean Or we can do what we do to almost every other set of RB cams (including mine) and build them up then grind them down, which does not require lash caps or spacing as the base circle is kept intact. Cost for this is $1200. Now don't go nuts cause there is HEAPS involved. If you saw how long it takes to set up, then grind, then build up, then grind and repeat and crack test and straighten, you'd shit yourself. Call anyway and ask. (07) 3271 6001
  8. Head work? HEll yeah! I had to relieve my cylinder head cause the cams fouled the casting with the new lift. Normally increase the duration by about 15-20 degrees or so at 6 thou, and wack on a bit of extra lift in the order of some 100 thou plus. Work great for the application you described.
  9. Listen, if you tell us what power you want from your engine and at what RPM you want to do it, we can make cams to do it. MAX HP GTR, Street GTR, drag GTS, ANYTHING. (As long as your power claims don't exceed your bolt ons) As for DE cams in DET, havent' done it. Bit of a baind-aid approach.
  10. Non turbo cams have more duration and overlap, which gives more performance than the standard turbo cams. We do ALL TYPES of camshafts, from 1930s staem engine cams to 2 meter long Diesels to even RB25. I have a set of RB25 cams waiting to be bolted to my cylinder head. We have the best quality camshafts in Australia. Luke Ivan Tighe Engineering
  11. thats 75 ftlbs or 90 degrees (1/4 turn) Thanks for the info
  12. Thanks. Is that the genuine Nissan settings or just what they reckon? They're probably good at what they do, but you can't trust anyone these days. (Except NIssan) Luke
  13. Does anyone know the NISSAN specified torque settings and procedure for the RB25DET? Thanks Luke
  14. YES you can! We watched that, and my good mate is working in Autobarn back home (Mount Isa) and he called me and told me he could get them. I think they're around the $200 mark but DO NOT quote me. Call Mt Isa Autobarn, ask for Daniel and tell him Luke said he could get them. He'll know. Make sure you ask for DANIEL - he knows what you're talking about.
  15. just in case anyone missed it...
  16. Yeah sorry man, its not really worth our time (or your money) for us to make a girdle. We don't have a CNC mill at work, which is really what you need for this product. Anything round, let me know! Luke Tighe Cams
