  1. Wicked as, so from the sounds of it, wiring loom or ignitor box, or cas if im unlucky. im not mech savy so unforunatley so wont be able to checkthis for myself, sounds like ass stratching FTL :-( I guess itwas a bit noob to think that going splitfires woud the ducks nuts and just magcally fix it
  2. this isn't the Maroon coloured GTR 33 is it? Nah mate mnp, black personalised plates
  3. ah at the rears, c-red have only got a rwd dyno. Haha jerk as in missfire, bout a split second of nothing then it picks up again and keeps goin good right up to 8k with no probs. i have yet to have any problems below or above 5k, seems to be very specific. i get the spark plugs changed every service, 5-10k's so i can cross them off. i just read another thread similar to this (gotta love the search functon) where they were mentionin the wiring loom. I might give the mechs a ring tomoz and see what they think, but i think a loom might be the next on the hit list. Ta for the quick reply
  4. Hey guys and gals, About 9 months i got my baby, 1 of 2 dream cars, an r33 gtr (others a ford gt40... yeah i kow i can dream) anywho after a couple of months i found that she'd misfire at around 5k under max boost at stock, so after savng abit i took her to c-red and forked out abit for a haltech cpu and tune and it seemed to fix it, turns out it was missing the air filter plug thing and only one of my 02 sensors was working... Feeling confident i was fixed they bumped it up to 14psi on stock turbos and a remap. Dyno'd at 340 atrw:) Noticed around a couple of months later that she was doing it agan, 5k under boost, mainly 2/3rd gear, nice jerk:( did a bit of study and found that the coilpacks can be a good cause of the problem, so i bit the bullet and got the mighty splitfres, cant go cheap on these beasts:D Anyway today after the install drivin down row, changed from first to second, hit 5k again and to my dismay she jerked... WTF could it be, and it always seems to be at the 5k mark... Things runnin through my mind: - spark plug gaps - too much boost on stock turbos - too much exhaust gas for the stock exhaust... Does anyone have any experience in fixing this and co0uld possibly point me in the right direction??
  5. hey mate, just wonderin what nick the stocko knob is in. Ta

  8. hey guys and gals, Got a midnight purple 95 R33gtr. had a bit of a dingle a while back and put a good dent in my front bar. My dads go a R33 gtr as well but his has a 400R front bar, which i reckon looks better. Does anyone know where i can pick these or would i have to buy a fibreglass one and have painted. Cheers Geoff
  9. Very IMPRESSIVE car. *dives out window*
  10. +1 exedy had mine for 9 months and still got that bite
  11. Well i picked her up today and she sounded awesome. you were right bubba, they were 6" on the rears so stuart said if i trade in my 6x9's for ones that fit and bring em back, they can be done... or i can go with the 6x9's and they can cut the back and find a replacement grill for the kenwood ones. Unfortunately for me i went big on the amps and they dont fit under the seats so they screwed them to the floor of the boot, but when i take her back to have the rears done they will make a custom panel for the amps to free up boot space. This was the first skyline that stuart had done and i have to say i was quite impressed, everything looks neat and tidy and nothing is out of place except one item, the flashing red light for the immobilizer has disapppeared into the dash so i will ask them about that next time i take it back. But that'll be in a weeek or so coz im off to melbourne thursday Cheers A very satisfied Geoff
  12. Cheers mate that is exactly what i wante to know. Thanks for your help mate
  13. Yeah rang stuart and he said as the install is more of a labour then product cost, he wont be able to do the discount. ive had a few mates get installs done by this guy and hasnt disappointed yet so i might go with him. Thanks for the advice but ill go with the 6x9's, personal preference. So decision finalized, 545 for the install of all components and booked for tomorrow. Thanks for the help guys and ill let you klnow after the install how it looks and sounds Cheers Geoff
  14. It already has the 6x9's in, im just going better quality. it was an import and it looks like the dude had a better setup but removed with the sale of the car. Also another question, subs in the boot, do they move around alot whilst driving or do you guys bolt down, and if so how does it go with the thin plywood over the space saver. Also mosoto, does that discount apply for alberts midland coz i was referred to a guy named stuart there?
  15. Hey guys and gals, Got a r33 gtr and a lot of car audio bits and bods ready to be put into my baby. A full pioneer gig with single din dvd flip out hu, 2 amps (4chan and mono) 6x9's for the rear and 6" splits for the front. Oh and of course the doof doof speaker for the boot, prob just in a box. Anywho i was just wondering what stores people have gone through and the workmanship and who you would recommend, preferably south of the river. Cheers in advance Geoff
  16. Nah he hasnt, i think he wants to put michelin's on it in the near future, or continentals... he's only using it as a family car, its been a thing he's always wanted to buy. He wants to keep it stock, bar putting on a a gtr steering wheel, changing the worn leather gear knob and also put ball-bearing turbo's instead of ceramic's...
  17. Haha you know whats funny, my dad bought that white r33 gtr vspec shown in thsi test from fabcar... its a bloody sweet car
