  1. I will be getting my car back tomorrow so I'm in for sure. The 29th of which month are we talking about again ??
  2. Thanks Miz, got some L shape brackets tonight from Bunnings ... inflation is a bitch $1.20 each !!! Here's the info I have received on offset mounting for anyone interested. It isn't an ADR restriction. There are angles of visibility requirements (cop writing parking ticket needs to be able to read the front plate, cameras need to read rear plate) and the rear one has to be lit (with complying lights) but they are allowed to be centred, left or right so long as they are properly upright (fairly close to vertical) and visible at the appropriate angles. As long as it's not recessed, it should be fine. Oh, and in response to things such as the Alfa's with offset mounts, they have a specific ADR apparantly to do so, which is why I wanted to investigate this further. Apparantly the plate must be level and not follow the contour of the bar, however I believe in the case of the 156 it actually follows the bar which is why it required the ADR.
  3. This may sound stupid, but what does the kit include ? Got pics ?
  4. Maybe if I make my own Cusco sticker to go with the Bunnings Hardware House brackets, I can live a lie
  5. Let me know how you go, what you end up getting done and how much it cost .... I'd love to know as I'll soon be looking around for somewhere to take my pride and joy for a bit of a service.
  6. Sweet, I look forward to seing pics of the different brackets that you guys are using ... the $0.70 job sounds like the plan, got a bunnings just down from my place on Parra Road. Just gotta figure out where to secure the brackets. Tony, as far as defects go, I was under the impression that when it came to mounting, the plate must be visable front the front of the vehicle and could not be obstructed by glass (so not behind the windscreen) but it didn't have to be in the perfect center, just visable from the front of the vehicle. Were you advised of any particular reason as to why having your number plate mounted on the side is deemed a defect ? Does anyone have the ADR in regards to this ?
  7. Does anyone know how it works with cabs as to who insures the vehicle ? Does the cab driver insure it personally or is it under a fleet policy of some sort ?
  8. np .. thnx
  9. Cab drivers are the bane of our existance I was waiting for the bus the other day on George St when a guy in a 318i was crusing down the left hand lane towards a red light, with no-one infront of him doing about 30-40 kmph .... Cabby was in the lane to the right of him, up a little further and with a car front and back ..... Just as the guy drives past the cabby, the cabby tries to make a break for the left hand lane whilst the front of the BMW is already up to his passenger side door ... guy slams on his breaks, goes to go into the lane to his left (a bus lane) cept it has a bus in it .. all he could do was hope. Luckily no damage to any vehicle, then the cabby starts yelling abuse at the guy ... it's fu_cking ridiculous.
  10. I should be getting a *.pdf copy of all relevant ADR's from Steve (ajc13b) shortly ..... After this I will be compiling them into one complete large *.pdf which will be the "complete" guide, and also a "cutdown guide". The complete will obviously have each ADR in it's entirety, the cutdown will only have the relevant sections on testing. The cutdown can be used for those pesky pulled over on the side of a street times, and if needed the complete can be produced for further reading material ..... Each will have a contents so you know exactly where to find the information you need quick and easy ..... This is the plan anyway

  12. Hey all, Stupied question ... I've been seeing these mounts on a lot of cars in VIC, and I want to mount mine on the right hand side of the front bar, outta the way of the intercooler and the cold air intake on the left of the bar ... Where do you get these mounts from ? Cheers, James.
  13. I'd assume that the person he was attempting to pick up would be a good witness no ? They would have been right where the action was ... I'd definately be in contact with the cab company also ...

    Why Blow Fire?

    WTF is werribee ??
  16. You'll know .... last time I had a low fuel incident was doing Putty Road, went about 40-50 km after the low fuel light came on (running on vapour) .... I just turned my boost way down and drove a little friendlier ... doesn't help when your car is running rich as it is
  17. hehe, I tried telling Tony that last night ... heavy rain + many skylines = Hope all goes well today guys
  18. Ronin, quit making petty excuses for him hehehe ..... Tony, just about to give you a call mate, sorry I didn't make it sooner, been out fixing up the gadren in the little sun we had today
  19. Franks why arn't you coming !?
  20. but but but .. they have an R34 in Faster and Furiouser ...
  21. Lemme re-phrase Who has a spare passenger seat Unfortunately I don't fit well in the back of Skylines (even worse in 200sx') hehehe ... my car is almost fixed , seriously, I'm not scrubbing outta want .. more outta need
  22. Who sells reverse indiglow for Skylines ??? I'll be sticking away from the EL as I've been warned that they kill your eyes over long trips ....
  23. The only bad point about Putty Road has to be the number of dead animals on the road for a dawn run .... they breed em wambats big as houses out there, and certainly make short work of a nice car I think as long as communication is kept up (lead car with a passenger and CB to advise of any upcoming traffic, animals, crazy motorcycles, etc) it's great ... Just gotta make sure I got some good insect removal cleaning shit before hand ... can you buy car bra's for Skylines ??
  24. Who has a spare passenger seat ?? Puhleeeaseeee
