  1. I am coming to the track day on Saturday, but I haven't got my Skylines Australia membership yet even though I posted it about 4 weeks ago. Does this matter? I'm really looking forward to it now, rain or shine.
  2. I came over a crest in a 100 zone and wiped out a whole family of ducks that were crossing the road. I felt quite bad about it actually. My mate following behind me thought it was quite funny 'cause there were feathers everywhere.

  5. I would definately get your AF ratios checked on a dyno with the Veilside chip. It is obviously going to be tuned more aggresively than the standard chip, ie more advance and probably leaner mixtures. Having said that, the difference in airflow between the standard turbo and the R33 would not be huge, so you may get away with the ecu setup that you have. Better safe than sorry anyway. Your injectors should still be fine with the mods that you have listed. Your fuel pump should also be able to keep up as long as it is in good condition, but again this is something that you should probably check. An adjustable fuel pressure reg is a bit of a band aid solution in my opinion, and should not be needed if it is tuned correctly. The only time they are useful is when your injectors start to run out of flow, which I don't think will be an issue for you yet. Other people on here will have a much better idea on this than I do. As for how it drives, with 10psi boost it feels pretty soft through the mid range, coming on boost a little bit later than the stock turbo, and then starts to go better than stock when it hits 5000rpm. At 14 psi it is much better, pulling much harder than the stock turbo from about 4500 all the way to redline. It is definately worth doing.
  6. Sorry it took me a while to get back to you. I have been running 12psi with the occasional run at 14psi. It has been on there for nearly a year and so far no problems. Series 1 R33 turbos have a ceramic turbine wheel with a steel compressor wheel, series 2 have the same as an R34 ie. ceramic turbine, plastic compressor. As for how much boost they can run, everybody seems to have a different opinion on this, and since I have never broken one I can't really say. Apparently the R34 and R33 S2 turbos can not run as much boost as the S1 R33 because of the plastic wheel. On my car I would not run more than 15 psi on a S1 R33 turbo or more than 13psi on an R34 or R33 S2 turbo. I have not yet remapped my ECU, but this is probably not a good idea. I would definately recomend putting it on a dyno to check your air/fuel ratios, in which case you may as well get it remapped and get the extra power.
  7. I have a series 1 R33 turbo on mine and it is quite good. Comes on only a little bit later than standard, but makes power all the way to redline. From memory the stocker used to run out of puff at about 5500. A friend has an r34 turbo on his, and it feels very similar to mine, but as well as the ceramic turbine wheel, they also have a plastic compressor wheel, which means no more than about 12psi apparantly. Both of these were a straight bolt up.

  14. Do you still have the motor for sale? If so I would be interested as long as it has all of the coils and ignitor. How much do you want for it? $250? Anyone have any idea how much to freight to Newcastle?
