  1. did you block the p/s thing off? because its got a sneaky vac hardline that runs behind the cam covers to the intake plenum
  2. whats running to your p/s pump if your using that as a boost source? is the p/s side blocked off? did you use new hose for your boost to wastegate feed? one of the factory lines has restrictors in it
  3. so whats new with the new highflows? i think thats the route i will take when i finally get my act together/i stop getting hassle from my other half
  4. plug the plug back in, start car and your in awd again
  5. yeah i played around a bit yesterday drilled them out, filled them back up with solder and drilled them smaller all in all, not much of a change (drilling them out means that the bleed solenoid can't bleed off enough air, lol) with smaller holes i was able to get about 8psi maybe i will install my jaycar ebc after all
  6. after you've given it a bit of stick, turn it off and pop open the oil filler a little bit of oil vapour is ok, but if there a moderate amount in there its a heavy breather = worn bottom end i doubt there would be much, my tractor doesn't have much in there after a good flog so your renault motors should be just as good
  7. yeah, known issue with stageas (could also be gtrs too) that stock they don't have enough caster i'll get that done someday
  8. pump 10-20psi into the wastegate and see what happens? what dump pipe?
  9. thanks for you help mate just to point you in the right direction with the fuel cut stuff more boost = more air flow, if you max out the AFM or what the ecu sees as acceptable it will put you into the R&R section of the map (rich and retard) if you go high enough you will hit fuel cut, this is still done by the ecu and it just turns the injectors off the fuel regulator just keeps the pressure difference between the fuel rail and plenum the same (add 7psi of boost to the plenum, the regulator adds 7psi to the fuel rail) mines ecu's are also tuned for jap fuels (about 100 ron normally), they are also uber rich but you get the goodness of speed limiter removed and usually good for much more boost they are also normally done to individual cars so its pretty hit and miss, you obviously got one for a car with similar mods to yours thanks for the info, don't take my rant the wrong way, i just hate seeing wrong infos on the interwebs Cheers, Tom
  10. does this allignment look ok to you guys? all they seemed to have done is adjust my awesome toe (changed tie rod ends) but all the others are the same as before, all are within spec but right on the limit
  11. it seems to be copping it at the moment, the two rears are a few mm off the tread indicators and the front passenger side is pretty screwed (bumped a curb and drove for ages without getting an alignment) but the front drivers side is great! so if someone has something thats pretty worn too it should be fine
  12. the tyres are wider than the rims as it is, can't go wider (235 on 17x7 lol) and would have to be all 4 if I went to a different tyre, dam AWD
  13. Hey Guys Just wondering which line the supposed restictor is for the stock boost system? I remember reading someone soldered something up and re-drilled it to a larger size so it bleeds off more air I had a look and was suspecting it to be in the brass F shaped connector but it wasn't, and i couldn't feel any lumps and bumps in the other lines if i can bleed some more air off i'll be able to keep 5psi low boost and move the 7 psi high boost towards 10
  14. info is in the stagea section too but i'll chuck it up here as well it was a protex - TE926-14 14 means 14mm tie rod, so just measure and if its 14mm ish then this is probably the one for you they also have a grease nipple on them too, so should last well if they are greased up every so often
  15. im gonna get some new wheels and tyres over summer so its only to get me to qld the current ones will do it, but they are pretty borderline atm
  16. anyone got any cheap 235/45/r17's? pref a matching pair or 1 maxrun ingens a1
  17. new tie rod ends in, and aligned just a small +54.2mm of toe after i changed the tie rod ends :-O lucky beaurepairs is only like 3 kms away
  18. a hypergear rebuild is in the pipeline, just don't want to stress the turbo too much until i can afford to rebuild and tune which could be a while unfortunately i was thinking that a boost-t in the solenoid feed line would let me up the base pressure and then flicking the switch would bleed off some more pressure too but then i'll only get the same rise as before i've got a jaycar ebc, i just don't like that if the solenoid fails, it fails shut which = infinite boost
  19. hypergear highflow, $900 + $80ish for the oil lines to suit he'll do it to whatever specs you want (tiny and zippy like stock or upto about 250awkw)
  20. rs4s (rsFOURs) tie rod end protex - TE926-14 just bolted it on and its all good, even has a grease nipple underneath
  21. look down the passenger side of the engine and see if the wastegate is hooked up the rear housing did she hear it make any "funny" noises? check for turbo bits if the wastegate is ok
  22. new tie rod end for me, will get the other one tmrw (only had 1 in stock) the ball actaully popped out when i was taking the old one off! glad i chose today to change them
