  1. Playstation Store to return online May 24th - Report Each PSN user will be able to get two PS3 titles and two PSP titles at no charge from a limited list of first-party games. In North America, the PS3 list consists of Dead Nation, Infamous, Little Big Planet, Super Stardust HD, Wipeout HD + Fury. The PSP selection is Little Big Planet (PSP), ModNation Racers, Pursuit Force, and Killzone Liberation. So back to a previous question I had. Would this mean each user gets two games or only each PS3? And btw, MGS had the best storyline EVER! Though the best game I've played is Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. It was perfectly balanced (i.e. hidden aspects, level difficulty, rage quits) Getting to 102% was a pain in the arse; it also didn't help when your younger brother kept deleting the f**king files. EDIT - After this story was published, US Sony reps offered the following statement: "We've not announced a specific date other than to say we expect to have the service fully restored by end of the month. Anything other than that is purely speculative."
  2. And Zelda: ocarina if time.
  3. yeah they fd that bit up.
  4. PlayStation Network password-reset system compromised And the 360 yet has to replace more customers' consoles. It seems as though the simplest machine is still the most durable and safest. You can actually play your games without worrying about disc read errors or RROD, and you don't have to worry about your identity being stolen. Yes, I'm referring to the Wii.
  5. Lmao. Germany doesn't get dead nation, infamous or killzone:liberation. They do however get super stardust, which is an awesome game.
  6. Not sure about the return of the store. Just that it's supposed to be before the 31st. What I wanna know, is if you have another accountbon your psn, will you be able to download another 2 games? And also, what if that extra account is a US account??
  7. I played online last night. The lag is fkn shiiiit horrendous. I got into one local game and of course, kicked major ASS. Played mostly 2 player Tag matches with my brother. We're an unbeatable force - even with the big lag conditions, we still managed to get the other players in danger most of the time. Problem is, normal reactions to blocking and dodging special moves becomes difficult because the ping literally gives you no chance. You have to just block after anything you do in the event the opponent MAY have thrown a fireball at you. Other than the lag, it's actually quite fun. BUT I think it may be a premium service, which is total fkn BS. Even for ps3. I had to activate my 48 hour online trial......... 48 hours of online gameplay - not 48 hours since activating the trial. Excuse the language, but things like this really grind my fkn gears. /end rant
  8. Hnds-on preview by gamespot. Sorry guys, there's no video. But the article and pics give a good idea of the features within the game. Dead Island Hands On Preview
  9. I'll be getting Dead Nation and maybe Little Big Planet or Infamous. Selection out of 5 games is pretty shiiiit though.
  10. They need to do a trailer like Battlefield 3. Unfortunately, MW3 isn't even made by the original guys who developed MW1 and 2. Activision is just promoting the Infinity Ward name. Most of this game will be developed by Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software - single player campaign and multiplayer, respectively. Some good/bad news (depending on how you look at it) though is that they'll be using a tweaked engine of MW2 rather than the shit blOps engine. I think I may have mentioned this in another thread before.
  11. Just jumped on the ps3 and was required to download the new update. It's installing now. I'll update this post to inform whether the actual psn is back up. EDIT - it's still down...
  12. Krapfish, that's you playing, isn't it?? You're really a dude, aren't you? I haven't heard of this one. Does remind me of initial D. Must be big in Asia if they've made a fourth sequel.
  13. So get those skills going and make me a sammich!!! Whilst I play mk If it's a good sandwich, I might give you a go
  14. I'd smash mileena. No thanks on head. And why arent you learning to cook?? That should be a perfected art for your kind. I guess when the man's away, the woman comes out to play................... some mortal kombat. Mates gf put us to shame with mk vs dc. She just button bashed and somehow kept pwning everyone; until she versed me of course
  15. Ah yes, touché.
  16. So they say. Don't forget they had originally said it'll be back online within a week................. 3 weeks later and still no actual confirmation. Just a whole lot of maybe.
  17. Just heard it on the news. Does this mean they'll be incorporating it into their products i.e. Windows and xbox? Can really go one way or the other.
  18. http://au.gamespot.com/news/6312333.html?tag=updates%3Beditor%3Ball%3Btitle%3B2 Computer security expert Dr Spafford testifies against Sony - ACTUAL TESTIMONY, "On a few of the security mailing lists that I read, there were discussions that individuals who work in security and participate in the Sony Network had discovered several months ago, while they were examining the protocols on the Sony Network to examine how the games worked, they had discovered that the [PlayStation] Network servers were hosted on Apache Web servers--that's that form of software. But they were running on very old versions of Apache software that were unpatched and had no firewall installed, and so these were potentially vulnerable. They had reported these in an open forum that was monitored by Sony employees, but had seen no response and no change or update to the software. … [And] that was two to three months from when the break-ins occurred." "If Dr. Spafford's assessment is accurate, it's inexcusable that Sony not only ran obsolete software on servers containing confidential data, but also that the company continued to do so after this information was publicly disclosed," said Consumer Reports technology editor Jeff Fox. There is also a video of the testimony released as well. Turns out Sony were too busy worrying about other things than the security of their customers - and now, their reputation.
  19. Complete account of PlayStation Network outage offered; info stolen from all 77 million PSN accounts; no fraudulent credit card transactions reported; Anonymous possible culprit. http://au.gamespot.c...topslot;thumb;4 It's a FULL breakdown of what caused the shutdown oft he PSN network - No details as to how, but more a timeline of when things occurred.
  20. The first gen ps3s actually had the ps2 gpu and emotion engine. These could play all ps2 game but cost a fkng crapload to buy. 2nd gen got a little cheaper by keeping the ps2 gpu but removing the emotion engine thus having to emulate it; this played most but not all ps2 games. 3rd gen got ecen cheaper by removing the ps2 gpu - resulting incapable of playing any ps2 games. that's the model I have. 4th gen are the slims.
  21. I can't wait for online play. Some characters are so difficult to string combos together. Others flow nicely. Scorpion is easy to use, whereas kratos requires a bit of practice.
  22. I'm up to the Smoke chapter. The actual story is interesting too. X-ray moves are brutal though. So far I think Cyrax has the most "ooowww" to it.
  23. That's what I thought too but it's not the case. If you do story mode, you can easily notice when it swaps from awesome graphics at the end of a fight to shitty looking cut scenes. Even though the game engine is used, the cut scenes have a fuzzy, blurry look to them. I'm thinking maybe it's the compression method used in the videos. God of war 3 had video files obtained from the ingame engine, although it was nowhere near as noticeable as mk. I'm just saying. Doesn't change the fact that it's still an EPIC game.
  24. [quote name=ClutchBurndout-' timestamp='1304391521' post='5791780] how about you all go get an xbox and stfu Yeah, but then we'll be complaining about having to pay just to play online. I don't care if it's only $12 or whatever; it's the principle. Online play should be free. And as for PC - Sure, no argument it's the best platform, but I prefer buying a game and not having to worry whether or not it will run properly on my machine. For the record, I'll buy an xbox.................................. when my shit turns purple and smells like rainbow sherbet.
  25. Tag team is quite fun too. Brother and I teamed up and smahed it... on medium... looking forward to playing online - whenever that may be. So much shit to unlock. even 2nd and stage fatalities have to be unlocked. Story mode is really cool - destroys the old konquest mode. For some reason though, the graphics look average during cutscenes but awesome during actual play...
