According to Wikipedia, Mexico, Central America, South America, Oceania all share region 4. So if you could grab a copy from one of these countries, it should work. Or grab this one. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW-XBOX-360-MORTAL-KOMBAT-9-2011-UNCUT-REGION-FREE-/170630552644?pt=AU_PC_Video_Games_Games&hash=item27ba5f9c44 I'm waiting for mine to arrive. Either the game or a $300 fine should rock up any day now.

Chuck some extra large sunnies on it. Should do the trick...

You're the 2nd person on these forums to call me that I snuck out of work early. Secret is to leave your desk a bit messy so as make it seem as if you're still there.

Car forum's "World and Other Things" section is the perfect place to ask about these things. All I can think to try, is: - turn off at the back - hold eject button and turn on from the back ---The fan will spin crazy and get rid of heaps of the dust inside - Let the PS3 operate until the light in front starts flashing red - turn off from the back - then turn on again, this time whilst NOT holding the eject button. - Try play a game, If that doesn't work, try a full reset, - turn off from back - hold front Power-on button and turn on from back --- this will cause all your settings to reset. Games and data won't be deleted or affected, but themes and video/audio settings will have reset. If that fails, get it checked out. I don't understand why it wouldn't be reading. Let me know how it goes.

As many of you may remember, there was a short live action trailer of what seemed to be a new MK movie. Turns out it was a 12 part series. Episode one came out last week. I haven't watched it yet since I'm at work, so I can't say if it's any good. Seems a LOT better than the show they had many years ago and not as cheesy. I started a new thread since the other one is dedicated for MK9.

Are you looking at a particular song to separate?? I know that as from guitar hero 4 onwards, the game uses master recordings. Loooong shot but If the song you're looking at is in any of these games, you could possibly grab a rip of the separate tracks. Not much help but it can be possible to grab master recordings. Even torrents have them.

A side-step from the main topic but related none the less. http://au.gamespot.com/features/6308543/index.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=picks&tag=picks%3Btitle%3B3 A brief summary, Context plays a very BIG part in how games create headlines and debate. Duke Nukem for example, is "sexist and violent". He treats women without respect and kills anyone who gets in his way. To a young person, who doesn't fully understand satire and irony, the actions of Duke could possibly lead him/her to believe that it is normal... To an adult, we understand that it's all basically a big "joke", so to speak; we know in reality, this isn't how normal men act in society (although I wouldn't mind it, haha). The article doesn't mention anything about introducing the R18+ in Oz, but I think they make a VERY good point in the reasoning behind classification and why the media and closed-minded people take everything out of context.

I hear you mate. Dedicated servers are the way to go. Despite this, I'll still be getting modern warfare 3. Sure, it won't be infinity ward, but they'll be using the same engine as MW2... which ran waaaaaaaay better on the ps3 than blops does. Actually most of the original IW developers have gone to EA. So I'm making the assumption that upcoming EA FPS games will be quite awesome; BF3 anyone?? And also, they're finally releasing PC mod tools so gamers can make their own mods to blops. Free trials for next month as well. http://au.gamespot.com/news/6308735.html?tag=latestheadlines%3Btitle%3B3

The 280s. If I knew they hurt the head after a while I would have gone another model bit after listening to the quality I decided to keep them. I love quality and am very picky when it comes to home entrainment/gaming.

Senheisers are awesome. They produce fantastic sound quality minus the large pricetag. As madaz said, they block out heaps of noise so you hear every enemy and each bullet shell as it hits the ground. Downside is they are pretty tight and after a while it feels as though your head will implode.

"At last year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, Sony announced Portal 2 was coming to the PlayStation 3. More surprising was the revelation by the game's developer, Valve Software, that it would be bringing Steam online functionality to the PlayStation Network. " http://au.gamespot.c...nes%3Btitle%3B4 This could be either totally awesome or a complete fk up.

Game giant and George "GeoHot" Hotz reach settlement that sees the latter agree to a permanent injunction to not post PS3 security information. http://au.gamespot.com/news/6307711.html?tag=latestheadlines%3Btitle%3B1 Worked out quite nicely I say... -
Bought this today. Will see how it goes. Looking forward to see how it'll run on my new nvidia gtx570. Yes, I finally bought a new graphics card. Should be sweeeeeeeeeetaa.

Release for Europe is 22nd I think. A couple more weeks to go...

I'm the same, except the other way around... MK ftw.

100k fine if you bring multiple copies assuming that they will all be sold. $300 fine for individuals. If they get it from overseas, just have them wrap it in gift paper. The scanners will show that it's a DVD. And to be honest, customs won't be as strict as everyone thinks. They have other things to worry about. AND to get technical, its not allowed to be sold in Australia. If your family brings it in, they've already bought it.
-
Just tell them to package it in such a way that doesn't mention the words "mortal kombat" and to declare it as digital entertainment or as a dvd/bluray. That's what my guy is doing.

Following statement from PS3 maker, hacker group Anonymous says it will cease efforts to bring down PSN due to impact on consumers. http://au.gamespot.com/news/6307284.html?tag=latestheadlines%3Btitle%3B1 I guess this "Anonymous" hacker has caused more problems than help... -
I'm not a complete expert but did you're problem start after you filled up?? If so, it could possibly be a shit batch of fuel...

True, the dlc on the us psn store kicks arse plus I too have an account for my us games. The only problem is that the movie and music dlc is region specific. The us version of god of war 3 ultimate pack didn't come with physical media (soundtrack and such) and so had to be downloaded. Only problem was my ISP is aus. and so it would not allow me to download even with a us account. best bit about having a us account is being able to download games that are banned . MK9 anyone??

This guy makes a very good point. Despite the record breaking numbers, all of this debate may be for nothing. Especially seeing as the government is run by a bunch of irrational fools. I for one, will keep pushing for an R18+ rating. As long as the numbers stay strong we still have s chance.
-
This was the case with the ps3. Many reviewers compared the graphical performance with that of the nvidia 7800-7900 gt/gtx. Despite the old tech, games still look pretty good on the ol' consoles.
