Nintendo have showcased a few games but their main push is of the Wii U, which came out end of last year (I think). No other console is on the cards.

I agree; system-wise, there is little difference, but the restrictions Microsoft has allowed for developers to impose on users has caused quite a stir. Check out everyone's reactions when the Sony guy mentions that used games are supported and 24 hour online check is not required (opposite to MS) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxtVd5BGDt8

So for those who have been listening to the live conferences at E3, you'll know that Microsoft have indeed dug their grave even deeper since their announcement of the XboxONE (especially regarding the unavailability of purchasing used games); and Sony are capitalising on this...

It's your call really. Ghosts has a release date of Nov 5th so If you can get black ops 2 for cheap then there's no harm. I wouldn't pay top dollar for it now though. Usually the previous cod will still have plenty of players, however you'll also tend to get more hackers since they're not as regulated as the new ones.

Sony explains why Gran Turismo 6 is debuting on PS3, not PS4SCEE CEO Jim Ryan says PlayStation 3 still has "a lot of potential," would rather launch on platform that has 70 million units sold already. Sony has spoken out to explain why upcoming racing simulator Gran Turismo 6 will debut on the PlayStation 3 and not the company's next-generation PlayStation 4. Speaking with the PlayStation Blog, SCEE CEO Jim Ryan said Sony is confident that the PS3 "has a lot of potential" that developer Polyphony Digital can make use of. "You had GT1 and GT2 on PS One; GT3 and GT4 on PS2; then there's GT5 on PS3 and a space next to it. The difference between Gran Turismo and GT2 is unbelievable, but they're both on the same platform," Ryan said. "The difference between GT3 and GT4 is huge. We're absolutely confident when GT6 comes, you'll see a big step change up from GT5 too. There's still a lot of potential on PS3 that a developer like Polyphony can really exploit." Sony added that if it were to release Gran Turismo 6 on the PS4, it would be doing so with a day-one install base of zero, compared to the more than 70 million PS3 units already sold. "And the other factor is that on PS3 we have an install base of 70 million units. On PS4 on launch day we'll have an install base of zero units," Ryan said. "There'll be plenty of games to help drive PS4--not least DriveClub in the racing genre from Evolution Studios, a studio with a fantastic pedigree." Though Gran Turismo 6 has been announced only for the PS3, Polyphony Digital president Kazunori Yamauchi said last week, "We have a PS4 version in mind for the future."

The one thing that shots me about the aim assist is if I'm about to shoot a guy in the distance who's shooting at me and another dude runs past, the aim will automatically turn towards the running dude, whilst the distance guy kills me especially when it's a buzz kill against me. I play with no perks and attachments. It's brings a challenge but still gives wins. A sensitivity option should probably be had for the aim assist. That being said, I probably won't play it on the next gen anyway.

LMAO @ video It does occur on the rare occasion. Dead Space 2 and Max Payne 3 delivered to my super hyped standards. Although there are way more games that don't. GTAV, let's hope it does.

As excited as you are, don't build your hopes up too much. There is still that really, really small chance the game may not live up to your expectations.

The following link is a wiki of the references people have been finding throughout the game; and it has HEAPS ! http://m.au.ign.com/wikis/far-cry-3-blood-dragon/Stupid_References

The size of the map is rumoured to be 256 sqkm VS San Andreas, which was 36 sqkm.

I'm most interested in playing as Michael. The game looks completely different to gta4. It seems to be massively detailed and with the general quality that rockstar put into their games, I know this one will not disappoint.

Although everything Marc says is correct, with our dollar being as strong as it is, we're still getting ripped off. A hearing has been organized for early March regarding the ridiculous prices. http://m.technobuffalo.com//2013/02/11/apple-microsoft-adobe-pricing-lawsuit-australia/ There is an inconsistency. When our dollar was worth half a US dollar (late last century from memory), everything increased accordingly. The issue now is that since our dollar became more powerful than the US, consumer products, for some reason, have not decreased in the same fashion as they increased. Take digital downloads for example - a song on iTunes is $0.99 in the US; here it's $2.19. There's no handling or import duties, yet it's more than double even with the strong dollar.

I like the bit about the RAM. With unified DDR5 and the fact that there's 8GB of it, whilst keeping in mind that it doesn't require the overheads that's involved with PCs, there's potential for a pretty wicked system. I also hoped for some more technical details on the CPU - in due time, I guess. The new controller has still got that old school resemblance, which is pretty sweet too.

It's rumoured to be backwards compatible. Either way, buying a new console just for GTAV is a good enough reason and death should be brought to anyone who opposes this!

Aliens: Colonial Marines. Whos Getting It ?
EeLeYe replied to Tyranus's topic in PC & Games Discussion
So, er… turns out this game is getting similar reviews to that of Duke Nukem: Forever. It just shows, if you're going to take on a project from another studio, it's best to start from scratch, as oppose to "updating" the previous work that's been completed. That's two similar scenarios, in just as many years, where Gearbox Software have acquired a big, fat FAIL. -
Mortal Kombat Being Reconsidered for R18+ Following the birth of the new R18+ rating for video games in Australia Warner Bros. has revealed plans to seek classification for Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition. “Warner Bros Entertainment Australia will be submitting the Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition for classification under the new R18+ classification category,” read a statement.

Australia's First R18+ Game Classified The future is now — Australia is finally set to receive its first R18+ rating, and the upcoming Wii U title Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge is set to be the first one to receive the sticker. The game has already been released and classified as MA15+ in Australia, but this re-release includes additional content and fixes specifically for the Wii U as well as incorporating DLC released for other platforms.

That's done good work! Since most of the detail had been completed, hopefully it's an easy conversion into GTA 5. How's the damage effect on custom cars? Does it use a generic method or do you need to play around with that as well?

It's the map from the original zombies game put of world at war. From memory, there's a turn off within the cornfields that you can take. Look out for the burning truck in the road. I think you come across the cornfields after you leave the third area. Just make sure you buy the Bowie knife or Galva knuckles to take out the gremlin things with one melee hit.

So, Jan 1st 2013 marks the first day of R18+ in Australia… yay. http://m.au.gamespot.com/features/r18-what-happens-next-6401809/

TranZit is the zombie game mode you want to choose. It includes the story, easter eggs and what not. It's also a tad more team based compared to previous zombies games in that playing by yourself would make it extremely difficult to even pack-a-punch your weapons, let alone progress through the "story". It's also the first zombies to work off the multiplayer engine, as oppose to a modified single player engine. This means you can now do 4way split-screen and unfortunately more zombies at once

Gamer plays Black Ops II for nearly 136 straight hours Call of Duty: Black Ops II set a sales record for publisher Activision, but it also helped one gamer set a new world record. News.com.au reports that 28-year-old Australian man Okan Kaya played Black Ops II multiplayer for 135 hours and 50 minutes straight, rocketing past the previous Guinness World Record for a video game marathon. That mark was held by two Canadian gamers, who clocked 120 hours and seven minutes, the site writes. New Guinness stipulations allow for 10-minute breaks every hour, Kaya said, adding that they can be taken together if desired.
