Hey guys, i have a strange question. My ECU keeps carking it and i have no idea what could be causing it. The car wouldnt start at all the first time, and i replaced the ECU and it was fine, drove it around for a week. In that week i have also replaced the turbo (although i cant see how this could be related to the ecu stuffing up). The new ECU is now causing the car to run rough? Co-incidence? Or could something else be causing it? Any help would me MUCH appreciated! On a side note, anyone in perth selling an r32 ECU , please let me know. Ryan

Hey, My laserline alarm keeps going off for no apparent reason. Usually seems to happen in the middle of the night I have no idea why. Thought there might of been a bug inside setting off the sensor but thats not it. Its been happening for a while. Any ideas??

hey anyone know wheres a good cheap place to get these gaskets? Or do you have to go to nissan. Anyone selling em by any chance?

hey i got it going! that computer decided to work for some reason. Anyways now i just need someone to put a new turbo in!

yeah well thats what i wanna do, i mean obviously i cant drive the car. So im hoping to find someone who knows what there doing i can pay to get it going. So if anyone can reccomend someone or an auto electrician that knows these engines that'd be great by the way, would the Air flow meter stop it from starting? How bout O2 sensor? maybe i could test these things.

well im not getting any voltage from the ignitor going into the engine. so yeah, sounds like a wiring problem to me too. Just cant seem to find it...

hey guys, I'm looking for an auto electrician who knows rb20's to help me out. What i have is an RB20DET in a vl calais, that wont start. It also has a problem with the turbo, but we'll deal with that once we get it going! I've tested the CAS, ignitor, and the 2 relays by the ECU on another car, and they all work. Tested the ECU itself, and the car i connected it to wouldnt start . So replaced the ECU with another one... STILL wont start! I dont appear to be getting any voltage at the ignitor. Can anyone reccomend someone who can come out and get this thing going?? It must be something simple , i have tested so many components i cant think of what else it could be. Ryan

thats my problem exactly. i've tested ignitor, CAS, and the 2 relays near the ECU on another car and they were fine. Tested my ECU on another car, and it didnt start. Replaced the ECU... still wont start!!

is it stock? $100 ?

hey, in addition to my problems with my turbo not working, my car will now not start. I have a feeling it may be the ignitor. Has anyone got one i could borrow just to test if that is the problem? Give ya a couple of beers or something to make it worth ya while? And if it is the problem obviously ill need a new one. South of the river, winthrop cheers Ryan

hey guys, trying to work out why my cousins RB20 vl wont start. theres no spark at the plugs. How do you test if the ignitor is bad? What else do you think it could be? Ryan

Hey guys, I just sold my VL Turbo, with an rb20det in it, to my cousin. He (stupidly) took it to k-mart tyre and auto to get a mechanical inspection before he brought it. A couple of days later it wasnt boosting at all... I went over there and checked for boost leaks, couldnt find any. Couldnt hear the turbo spooling up when driving either. I also noticed the heatshield was off... obviously the ppl at k-mart forgot to put it back on... and why they took it off, who knows. So he drove it back there to tell them to fix whatever they have done to it... and after parking it there it wont start anymore. Apparently the problem is there's no spark. I am thinking of telling him to get it towed home cos i dont trust these people at all! Any ideas what the problem/problems could be?? I really appreciate your help guys, i feel like a prick because my car is just giving him problems a few days after he brought it. Ryan
