Looking For A 260rs To Buy In Melbourne
kccortez replied to kccortez's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Well i was born in perth and do have a perth license but without seeing the car especially being a transplant donor car and reading all the previous threads i'd be a bit hesitant. I'm sure its a fantastic car though! -
Looking at selling my rs stagea to upgrade to a 260rs. Just putting the feelers out to see if anyone knows anyone selling one or seen any around in melbourne. A bit to busy to travel interstate to look but if their are any in melb, please let me know!!!!

Just got my nistune on my s2 rs auto stagea redone yesterday. Had some misfiring issues due to plugs but now its bloody amazing!!!!!!!!! Before my tune with stock turbo and safc neo( which is now for sale )i managed 185rwkw at 12psi with all usual mods and stock afm, injectors. Now with hypergear turbo and nistune i'm pushing 230 rwkw at 16 psi!!! The nistune transformed the engine completely. No where near as laggy, cold starts are perfect and changes on the stock auto are really snappy at the top end with no flaring. Funny thing is before the nistune my auto would flare for a second before changing to second, now it just clicks in really quick!! Hope that lasts! On an rs rwd stagea this setup is so much fun! I'm getting to the limit of my rear tyre traction, and best of all i'm managing 450km + to a tank enen with a heavy foot and city driving! Go the nistune definately, had mine done at status tuning by trent and he is fantastic!!

glad all looks ok! May i recommend status tuning for your car. Had the atr28/g3 from hypergear tuned with a nistune. All obvious mods and stock afm AND injectors on rb25 neo and i'm making almost 230rwkw at 16psi in an auto, so in a manual u might get close to your mark without the need for z32 and injectors. My hypergear turbo was quite laggy before my tune too but after the tune it was much much better.

Arrrgh, you made the same mistake that i did! Now before stao says anything yes hypergear turbos are fantastic and stao is a great guy. He also arranged for the turbo to be installed by the next door workshop. I would DEFINATELY NOT get them to install the turbo. I had numerous problems with them including major oil leaks due to a dodgy home made banjo fitting etc. The didn't have any copper washers for the fitting(and no adapter plate) which was fair enough but after sending it to an Experienced peformance place they even asked if one of my mates done the job as it was very dodgy! The best thing i did was not go their again and take it to someone that does peformance modifications for a living, not just car servicing. I wasted an extra $300 dollars taking it somewhere else but they did a great job. Stao your turbos and service are great but please dont send people to that particular place. Please!!!

Nistune Done! Gotta Love Hypergear Turbos!
kccortez replied to kccortez's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I think stao at hypergear mentioned it should be good for up to 270rwkw though i think around 250rwkw in an auto would be realistic. Yeah i think an ebc would be the go... -

What do you guys think of the boost curve? Trent recommends the gizmo ebc as a good one for the price($300), would it help keep the boost up in the top end or is the turbo starting to run out off puff? cheers -

good on ya! I took the photo on my mac in photo booth. I guess it gives a mirror image of any picture taken... Gave the stag a few good runs today. tyres are getting to the limit of their traction but their gripping fine. uneven roads has the tyres chirping all though first! I'm a bogan at heart and am loving having rwd fun in a big fat wagon! -

He said the standard injectors i have still have room to move as their not near maxing out yet. Probably another 20kw or so before they get above 80% duty cycle. As for the afm i asked him and he said with the nistune and my power objectives i wouldn't need to upgrade. Its good to know that the hypergear highflow still has a bit of headroom to support future mods!!! Get the nistune and get it done with status tuning... -

Not sure what port is used for the tune, i'll ask trent next time i see him. He said the turbo can pump 20psi plus no worries but dont know about the engine. He has some auto r34 neos that he has tuned recently, one pushing 270rwkw though i believe he is running into a few auto trans issues. boost kits peak at 2500rpm but drops off as it revs. Was thinking maybe installing the gizmo ebc. Would that help keep boost around 16psi to redline? But yes very happy with the power its making! -
Just got back from status tuning after gettiing the nistune board installed and tuned by trent. These are my mods so far... 2000 s2 rs rwd stagea Hypergear atr28/g3 hiflow turbo- The best value for money turbo upgrade i think!!! fmic 3"turbo back exhaust t-bar boost controller apexi panel filter walbro 550hp fuel pump nistune board Before the nistune i was running 186 rwkw at 10 psi with my safc neo. After nistune i currently have 225rwkw at 16psi!!! The car pulls soooo much stronger and feels like a new engine altogether. I must say trent really knows his stuff in regards to tuning and is a top bloke to deal with. As good as the figure is i'm going in again in a week or so as we both forgot one crucial thing to do to the stagea before the tune. Trent mentioned the car should be making 15 or so more kw but he was finding it hard to tune at the top end. This is when we both realised... We forgot to take out the neo!!! woops. I did mention it to him though probably shouldnt have left the neo stashed behind the dash but hanging out somewhere in view. Trent said straight away to book it in again for a remap without the neo free of charge and we should hopefully get up to 235rkw with hope!! But regardless the engine is running so smooth and the turbo is ohh so good, and trent reckons that the turbo could easily get to 20psi no worries with supporting mods!!! So all in all +1 for nistune and status tuning!! +1 for hypergear!!!

i too can highly recommend stao and his highflow service. I have the g3 profile on my neo. Getting it tuned tommorow at status tuning so will be great to see what it can do. Hey stao what rwkw do you think i should get maxing out the standard injectors? being an auto im hoping around 220rwkw...

Review Of My $800 Hypergear Hi-flow Atr28/g3
kccortez replied to kccortez's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Well iv'e booked in my nistune with trent on the 8th of april. Hes going to change the plugs as well. I mentioned about the fpr and he believed that it wouldnt make that much of a difference with the tune and seeing as though i might get some new injectors in the future i might hold off for now. As for the 186rwkw at 10 psi, i was a bit dissapointed with this figure myself as i had 185rkw with the stock at 12psi. I think with a quality tuner i would have a better figure but i was always was going to get the nistune. Regardless of the figure though the car feels so much stronger in the midrange and doesn't drop boost like the stock turbo did on mine. I love the whistle as its spooling up as well!!! i'm researching a valve body upgrade as well. its either going to be through rvo or maybe i'll get one sent over from mv autos and get someone to install it. -
Mate thats great news!! ive been waiting to see how it was going to go. How does it feel with normal slower driving? How much power did they say it would safely hold? And when you say $1330, is that everything drive in drive out INCLUDING the valvebody upgrade or without? if not how much would it be all up at rvo. Am very keen to get it done before i get serious with power. currently have 186kw...

Review Of My $800 Hypergear Hi-flow Atr28/g3
kccortez replied to kccortez's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Yeah i was thinking of getting a FPR. How many more kw would it achieve do you think? Or is it worth not getting one and eventually changing to bigger injectors?
