  1. it's difficult to change to white. i have white wheels on my line and they look great but are hard to keep clean. they give it that circuit racer look.
  2. i just got my r33 gtst box rebuilt because i couldn't get a good second hand box for under $1500 and it seemed crappy. some people wanted up to $2100 for a second hand box. my rebuild cost $1900 alone (including fitting & removal). a word of warning to those wanting to rebuild a box out of an r33 gtst there are some parts that take forever to get. i had to wait over 3 weeks for two of the cluster bearings eventually giving up waiting and using the second hand ones that were in there before (these bearings were still ok but not new, it was other parts that were broken).
  3. I do remeber seeing them race around bathurst and the crowd having a go at jim richards and mark skaife on the podium... in the early 90'si thought it was unfair that they raced with the v8's after they beat them. i always new the skyline was a formidable racing machine after that. it was a long time before i got one though and everyone told me i was crazy importing a second hand car i had never seen. It is the tail lights though and always will be for me. i love the round taillights.
  4. i had my insurance cancelled because i failed to disclose my driving history at one stage as well as my racing harness when i had my commodore. luckily i wasn't at fault in the accident but it was still a rude shock for me. my driving history is ridiculous but i have got better with age. i have paid (wasted) thousands in fines for the way i drive and it makes me a target of the police to this day. i have been on a hit list for some time. the last cop that wrote me a ticket for excessive noise did so because he saw i had so many other fines for excessive noise already. i am not saying that i haven't deserved 90% of the tickets i have been issued cause i did. it just makes you a target. my driving history is a few pages long. (this is what i can remember maybe not quite accurate numbers - except for excess noise) multiple excessive noise fines. a few speeding fines. no seatbelt at schoolies (drunk-passenger-doing 20kph down the road at the gold coast) a couple of defect notices. a dangerous driving fine incurring loss of license. (high speed chase 190 in 100 zone) there is more and stories behind each case. (i have been through multiple licenses) i am not proud of my history and it isn't cool when you can't drive your car for months at a time and have to face a magistrate. i always seem to learn my lessons the hard way. it has basically made comprehensive insurance something i can't afford and only one or two company's would insure me anyway. i find it difficult not to get enthused and give the line a squirt here and there but there are consequences for this unfortunately. sorry for the rant my 2c..... i don't need a lecture from anyone here on there thoughts on my driving either.
  5. cheers for the clear indicators blaknite the look trick.

  8. get it pressure and flow tested. or buy a new one and hope it was welded properly.
  9. i bought a hybrid kit with the 600x300x76 for my r33 and it works great. it is a tiny bit laggier than the stock cooler (with stock turbo) but it cools the inlet air alot better. i have had a problem with the kit though, the top pipe returning the cooled air to the factory inlet piping runs infront of the radiator and gets very hot. this was wasting the good work that the cooler was doing and as a solution to this i bought some thermo-tec exhaust wrapand wrapped the intercooler piping in the engine bay and the piping from the turbo to where it goes into the front gaurd and i have found this to make the car seem more powerful (seat of my pants meter used) the car feels more consistantly powerful as before it was a little ordinary. i believe getting the heat away from this has given me a definite power boost. the pipe temp is noticeably different as now you can put your hand on the piping and leave it there after you have been driving whereas before you couldn't. i intend to wrap the dump pipe until it is under the car too with the remaining wrap i still have. se this link for pics of the cooler install... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/photopost...500&ppuser=5132 back to the subject the cooler itself works great!
  10. why would you want to remove the blow off valve altogether?? it serves the purpose of reducing wear on your turbo to start with.. how big is the dint in the sump? that could be starving the engine of oil if the pickup is damaged...
  11. yes well i'm not quite in the financial position to make that option viable. i have a car loan which is the only way i could get the car i wanted when i wanted it and i have paid back 69% in thirteen months and will own it in another 7 months at which point i will have a party like i do every time i pay a car off. :bananaman
  12. i want to know the same thing basically as i want to chop out the middle of my bar for better intercooler cooling and the bottom is a little cracked and i want to strengthen it. i think they have kits from supercheap but i don't know how well it works?? :Paranoid:
  13. i haven't encountered this problem yet.. but i would imagine that if you were looking at this for a long term fix that a gasket silcone or maybe areldite would work best at lasting the test of time. just a thought
  14. try the cooler yourself this will save $$$. i was able to fit my cooler and piping myself and i saved hundreds. it was a hybrid kit but it only took about 6-7 hours to fit by myself. it could be done quicker with 2 people. get that cooler in there before summer time as you notice the difference in summer.
  15. TEKNOMAN - quite possibly i was cruising through there.. i can't remeber where i saw it though... last nite was a skyline extravaganza!!! :headspin: i saw a white r34 pulling out of a driveway on trouts rd at aspley and then a little after on my way to the gym i saw the white "driftking" r33 and r32 from jamboree cruising along becketts rd at bridgeman downs and i gave them a wave. there were skyline bogans everywhere...
  16. i saw a couple of skylines over the weekend... i saw a silver four door on friday maybe, looked pretty stocko i think... geez i can't even remeber where, damn.. i have to slow my weekends down a little...
  17. yeah i saw you garry, that is a big ass wing on the back of your line.... i live in that area there where i was turning off..
  18. yeah i saw you racing cam, that gtr sure looks sweet on the track.
  19. yeah i bought the fitting for $4 or so, drilled a hole a little smaller than i needed then got the right size tap and tapped the hole then screwed in the fiting with a little plumbers tape. it works a treat and has done for almost 10 months now. i have played a little also and found that a restrictor in this pipe as in the factory one shown makes the power seem to come on better when used with a manual boost controller as before it would spike and cause the ignition timing to retard. just an idea, seemed to work on my car anyway?
  20. hey i have installed this kit on my skyline and i went to autobarn and got a screw in brass fitting. once you screw it in it has the nipple on it like the factory piping to put the pipe onto. see images also see my gallery for install pics.
  21. yeah thanks. i was 19 at the time (as in 5 yeears ago) and it was a magna. when i looked across initially i saw no computer inside or anything else to look like a cop car. this happened before all the new hooning laws came in so it was very strange to see an unmarked cop car especially a magna in my area. like i said an expensive lesson to learn.
