Noice. Some questions: Which rotor diameter did you get (365mm?) What wheel rim diameter are you running? What sort of piston area are those things running at the front & rear?
-
Yes you should get one.
-
These ones? Mono4_28mm_disc_Model__1_.pdf
-
Well, yes actually. Problem is that you get to the point where there are so many car parts on the table that you have nowhere to eat your dinner. Fortunately for me this was resolved by the fact that, having spent all my money on car parts, I could no longer afford dinner.
-
Well I just sold mine. In WA too. It took about a month & I didn't have a huge number of enquiries. Maybe half a dozen. More people wanted it than could either afford it or justify it. Only one bloke came & looked at it, he was the first & he bought it. My opinion is that if it is clean, stock(ish), well looked after & reasonable priced you should be able to sell it without a huge amount of drama. It won't be gone in a week & will probably take a few. The down side is that you will get a raft of time wasters & tossers who will pound you with bizarre questions & expect you to give it away (to them) without them even bothering their arse to come & look at the car. Oddly enough the cheaper the car, the more of these types the ad appears to attract. Best tip is clean it up & put a coat of polish on it. Make sure it drives well. Most importantly, never, ever underestimate the value of a pretty photo. I used here & carsales & ended up selling it through car sales. I checked the numbers & approx the same number of people looked at the SAU ad as the carsales ad. Approx 800 of each. Also ask your mates if they know anyone who wants one.

Can you please explain? Intent was to team it up with a 343mm rotor. p12004.pdf

Never forget that at the core of this is a Ferrari employee getting fkd over badly by Ferrari.... Anyway, read the transcipt of the evidence. Not only didn't McLaren use the information they variously demonstrated that: 1. Much of it was wrong. 2. Much of it was either obsolete or irrelevent. 3. All of it was sourced from legitimate means as well as being discussed in the emails. 4. Other than one engineer, no one in the engineering arm was aware of it. I need to explain #3. Take the weight distribution as an example. De la Rosa talked about it in an email to Stepney. Turns out that all the teams routinely calculate the weight distributions of the cars - they calculate it by using the footage of the cars when they are hoisted on the cranes after an off track excursion. So this supposedly valuable bit of info was therefore available to everyone. Turns out de la Rosa, for all the talk of using in the simulator, never did simply because it was well outside of McLarens parameters. And so it goes - there was categorically no smoking gun. Just a disgruntled Ferrari employeee & a complicit FIA (Particlarly Max Mosely). The best bit of the whole thing was that Ferrari tried to demonstrate that McLaren did something wrong when they found out & ratted on Ferrari using illegal floor designs. To anyone who thinks it is not common practice for all teams to do everything they can to find out what everyone else is doing, well that is so naive words fail me. Teams analyse others designs and basically monitor everything they can. Paddock gossip is always about what everyone else is doing. Read de la Rosa testimony - he was flabbergasted that the Ferrari beak could argue otherwise.

Wow, there is a market for under bonnet linings? I have one at home. Not sure how good the condition is, will have to check. Some of the clips went missing, however. Send us a PM if you are interested....

If you have some time on your hands the transcripts of the proceedings make for interesting reading. It shows how insubstantial the allegations really were & also that the FIA didn't care whether or not McLaren made use of any information. The way the whole thing was conducted was bordering on the shambollic. I guess not penalising the drivers (Hamilton knew nothing about any of it & Alonso didn't even have the guts to turn up!) allows the FIA to try & present themselves as being reasonable.

Hmm for motorsport & premium street performance, so says the product description. So maybe they really mean for driving to the track to watch other people.... http://www.dba.com.au/2006/products_4000.asp But no, they disclaim all warranty once you venture near a track.

Check their company profile. Australian made all over it.

Well it is a lot of trouble to go to if it is only at the engine. Even so it is alot of trouble to go to if it is at the treads. An RB26 can spit out 500rwhp easilly.

Which fiasco? There have been so many.... There was some mention in the telecast commentary that Alonso is keeping much of his info to himself. But who knows who starts these things. I don't think Ron Dennis would put his teams hard work at risk by short changing anyone in terms of the number of engineers etc.
-
Alonso can drive, of that there is no doubt. But I can't remember a more poisonous relationship between a team manager & his supposedly number 1 driver. Maybe Villeneuve & Sauber? In his defence there was a short period when he had a proper haircut....
-
Roy, I realise you are a card carrying member of the David Coulthard fan club, but I was pretty much the same about Mika. Crosses we have to bear. Anyway, there is a big difference between the press (Pommie press pro Hamilton, Spanish press pro Alonso) & the team. To be honest I haven't seen anything from the team that indicates favouritism one way or the other.
-
I think the difference is that, at Renault, Alonso didn't have a team mate as quick if not quicker than him. As much as I like Fisi, he is not Lewis Hamilton. None the less Alonso did occassionally have a go at Renault through the press (eg they are more concerned about the constructors championship than the drivers carry on). The other alternate explanation is that he has been made bitter and twisted by the FIA's favouritism towards Ferrari last year & the bullshit at Monza (He "held up" a Ferrari in qualifying by driving 100 yards ahead of them & was penalised) & by the mass damper debacle (A system Renault had been running for many races was suddenly declared illegal after Ferrari convinced the FIA). Bottom line is I don't think he is comfortable with McLarens even handed approach to both drivers. He believes he deserves favoured treatment & in the absense of that coming forth from the team he is conducting himself in such a way as to gain every competitive advantage - to his & the teams detriment.
-
Well I was prepared to give Alonso the doubt. Until the last week, that is: This is an extract from a Mike Doodson article in this weeks Auto Fiction titled "Who ratted on Ron" ...The man who phoned the FIA president Max Mosley to inform him that two McLaren drivers (de la Rosa & Alonso) and a senior McLaren engineer (Coughlan) had been circulating technical secrets...was none other than Ron Dennis... As Dennis explained last weekend, his own driver Fernando Alonso "suggested" to him on the morning of last month's Hungarian GP that he possessed information..... Alonso... ...said he would keep the information to himself if Dennis promised him favourable treatment... Now to be clear I don't believe that any of the information that Alonso or de la Rosa had was anything more substantive than the usual run of the mill paddock gossip. But I do have issues with the way Alonso tried to use his behaviour to further leverage a competitive advantage. So go Lewis. Hope he brings it home.

Well you could always email Nengun/Greenline for a rotor & bolt price. Either that or sell the rotors you have whilst they are still good. I am a bit bitter & twisted about DBA rotors because out of eight I have 2 cracked & the remainder not looking too sharp. For the $330 approx price for a 4000 series rotor & the awful slotting patterns & the lack of cooling....

Read post number 59 in the following thread. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...40&start=40

Spot on. Just get out there & have a go. Most of what you learn is not specific to any one car.
-
Good to see Cruikshank Racing making some progress. But how the hell do you injure your shoulder getting out of a car?
-
Hmm, I had a quick look at Nengun's site. A pair of project mu hatted, slotted rotors, for your car (ie 324x30) are $961.08 delivered. Surely not much different to the price for the DBA rubbish? Worth looking up are Stoptech. They do a 324x30 hatted rotor also. Brembo also do one, but that will be a fair amount of coin. Try Tony & V-sport. He knows his shit & will steer you in the right direction particularly with regard to seals etc. www.vsport.com.au

Rb26 Stock Engine Components For Sale

Cams, intercooler & fuel pump still to be sold. -
Well if you are using DOT 5 fluid then that is your answer to why your pedal is spongy. GET RID OF IT. Replace it with Motul RBF600 which has a higher boiling point & gives you a better pedal feel. Cheaper too. Basically all things to all people.
