  1. That is the same car. Nice isn't it? Here is another oddball. Those that know their cars will love the number plate and the swing axle......
  2. Use dot 4 fluid.
  3. Good to see the local media have a good handle on what is happening in the world of F1. Headline in the SMH. McLaren's Melbourne F1 win 'illegal' Maybe my memory is faulty, but who won in Melbourne?
  4. Well there are a couple of different ways of looking at it. Poor journalism. Poor policework. Now obviously the police were going to do something high profile with the media in tow. I guess labelling as hoons those responsible enough to do the right thing & go to an organised, legal event is the quickest/easiest & cheapest thing to do. Part of the problem is the media who know how much mileage they get out of "hoon" stories. So you will see rubbish like that in the Daily Telegraph not to mention some of the more grown up papers. Part of the problem is the lack of resources on the police side forcing them to do what is expedient instead of what is right. But mostly it is laziness on behalf of all those involved which means they have neither the intellect nor the imagination to understand that you can be a car enthusiast without wanting to drive like an idiot on public roads.
  5. Um I think you got the weight distibution for the driver back to front - or atleast it should be closer to 50 - 50. Which makes it a bit worse than 61/39! This on top of the fact that I have had some work done to try & make things a little better.
  6. Sorry man, be everyone has moved on to speculating on the Hungarian GP winner. My money is on Lewis.
  7. C'mon Baron. Linkorban. Oh, a moderator you say. Um, ok then. Obviously that one is from your personal collection...
  8. Whatever else you may say about Nelson Piquet, his missuses (& there have been a few) have always been stove hot.
  9. They have a feew rims in stock & you can order from their catalogues.
  10. One other point people may like to note is that the RE55's (Bridgies) make an absolute bucket load of noise on the road. The Toyo's (RA1's & perhaps the 888's) are, by contrast, civilised.
  11. Hey, Damon is ok.
  12. Sorry my link didn't work. Try this. http://www.dse.com.au/cgi-bin/dse.storefro...duct/View/Q1585 It is a digitor automotive multi meter with goodies for all of $60. I have one at home & they are really good. The cat number is Q1585.
  13. Try one of these. http://www.dse.com.au/cgi-bin/dse.storefro...duct/View/Q1585
  14. Do these qualify? So French, so sh!te.
  15. Well now that I have grown old & cynical I am in a postion to pass on the distillation of my years of learning. Every non specialist magazine article/news story/press release ever published will be aimed at the lowest common denominator of our society. It is the LCD's that, by sheer wieght of numbers, dictate the sludge you are forced to consume in life. Everything from bad movies, to bad cars, bad coffee, bad music & bad politicians. It's the LCD's fault. All of it. At this point I would like to quote Shaun Rhyder: "I'm not your role model, be your own kids f**king role model" (Grape Tapes, 1998) It is your only hope...
  16. Your first mistake was to expect one of ACP's magazines to contain quality journalism. Your second was to expect police spokemen to spout anything other than simple minded prejudice against anyone who has more than a passing interest in cars.
  17. Well fair enough. The Poms hate him, though. Mostly because he wasn't Nigel Mansell from what I can gather.
  18. Never used to be like this. Oh, hang on. http://theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,2...34-1702,00.html Love the last line in the story. Wasn't there another driver from around there?
  19. To answer your second question first, I drive for three hours to get to Wanneroo. Having few facilities near where you live is completely normal for those of us who live in rural/regional parts of Australia. How does laziness (track too far away) constitute a valid reason for killing someone by doing something stupid? So the money the governments tip into building facilities like Eastern Creek, Phillip Island, Queensland Raceway etc etc counts for nothing? Inspite of the ineptitude & incompetence of road safety "authorities" & the police, the road toll is going down. Everybody should thank the engineers that work at all the car companies for the multitudes of improvements that new cars have compared to those built 20 years ago. According to the statistics the four most prevalent causes are: Not wearing a seatbelt. Drinking. Fatigue. Our old revenue raising favourite, speeding. Ofcourse the fact that the fourth makes the consequences of the first three worse doesn't stop the whole of the focus being on the latter. It is already ridiculously easy to get your car to a track. As the sticker says: Street racing is not drag racing. Driving like a dickhead on the roads is already frowned upon. Or has nobody noticed?
  20. Chasing the following: Clock + the trim panel it sits in (see photo). Diffuser vent for windscreen demisting (See photo). Centre console lid. Rear side window trim surrounds (They vinyl ones that go inside the car) Horn relay (Sits under the relay panel box in the engine bay.) Please PM me if you have any of these parts & you want rid of them! Cheers Richard (djr81)
  21. Please don't wish that on anyone. The kind of clowns who engage in"street racing" have absolutely no place behind the wheel of a car, let alone in a motor sport event.
  22. Are there any results posted anywhere?
  23. This being what exactly? If you mean do you need to do anything other than bolt up the aftermarket (Rollmaster or any other) cam adjusters to your car? Answer is no. They just go straight on in the same manner as the stock pulleys. If you want to make your own you need to machine the standard cam pulleys. Much like the ones in the photo.
