Well he is no Takuma Sato. I guess my opinion is formed by the thought that winning in Champcar these days doesn't prove alot. But he has done a few test days & Berger is not a fool by any means. So maybe. I just doubt it, is all. Is he better than the current line up probably comes down to the size of the cheque he can write. I don't reckon the current drivers are too bad. Compared to the pair of twits at Jordan, um Spyker anyway.

Sebastian sucks wang. You heard the reality here first.

Just get a Nismo pump.

Apexi make a nice pod filter set up that bolts to the Z32 AFM's. It includes the plugs you need to splice into the loom. I have that kit + two Bosch AFMs, which with a cover work nicely. If you know just about anyone in a trade they should be able to source the Bosch gear at a discount or trade rate. They are a direct equivalent for the Nissan items, just cheaper. Cheapest upgrade uption is still some Nismo AFM's however.

Dimensions Of Brackets For Radial Mount Calipers
djr81 replied to djr81's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks for the info. What I was chasing were the locations of the bolts on the other end, ie as they bolt up to the hub. The outside biut is ok as most manufacturers publish this data, but the Nissan end of it I don't have any info on & don't believe I can measure it up accurately enough. -
Well sorry about the title. What I am after is the PCD, spacing, & offset from the rotor centreline(in plan view) for the two bolts that hold the stock caliper onto the hub, or in the case of an aftermarket caliper hold the mounting bracket to the hub. The two are shown in this photo (Pinched from this very forum) just in front of the drive shaft.

Well the wash up is as follows. From my workshop: "They (Supplier of intercooler) are still arguing that your car is in fact fitted with an R33 GTR cooler and bumper support...bla bla bla." To be clear the car is a stock standard R32 R sitting in a RAWS workshop some four weeks after being complied & registered. So for anyone looking to buy this brand of cooler for this particular car please be aware that it probably won't fit. Sorry if this post contravenes any rules, but it is about as even tempered as I can manage.

So out of interest can you offer any insights with regard to RB rod lengths?

Greatest F1 Driver Of All Time?
djr81 replied to Kozeyekan's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Wasn't there some bloke from South America called Fangio or something? In another random assault on those who think that domination was only invented in the eigthies. Introducing the 1965 season. Specifically the German GP (At the Nurburgring). Round 7. Jim Clark won it. It was his sixth victory of the year. Ahh I hear you say - but what happened to the other race. Well he didn't win the Monaco GP. Why? Because he didn't enter it. Why? Apparently he was busy that weekend winning something called the Indy 500. The only GP's he didn't win (There were 10 that year) he either didn't enter (Monaco) or suffered mechanical failure. In the championship his score was perfect - only the drivers best six races counted & he had six wins. It illustrates that counting points as a measure of greatness is basically worthless. I would reckon whomever comes third this year will eaarn more points than Clark did. -
So how do you sign up for this track day? It is a practice day at Wanneroo. You need to be a member or to make other arrangements. Just turn up at Barbagello race way? Ring them up & talk to them. They are nice people. At minimum you need to do some preliminary safety inductions etc. Collie is a better bet for those without paperwork or preparation. Although it will probably be pissing down & there will be drift people there. You get your car scrutineered in the morning & do as many laps as you can be bothered.

What sort of shock do you have? There is no point, for example taking your Bilsteins to WA Suspensions as they don't deal with them. Cost? Don't know. What do you get? A graph. Which will be useless to you if you don't know how to read it or what you want.

Greatest F1 Driver Of All Time?

Yep, good point. No world championship but a buttload of cash & a supermodel for a missus. If only I wasn't a chinless wonder. -

But Warney only cheated on his missus, which obviously isn't as bad as cheating in cricket. Besides his Mum has some good stuff. Well as far as I know Schumacher only started the road safety thing after the FIA made him do it in response to him running (or trying to) Villeneuve off the road in 1997 or whenever it was. By the way I have a Jack Brabham driver safety thingo at home that my old man once had - so this sort of thing has been around for a while. I always enjoyed seeing him do his little leap... Organised by PR men I tell yas, Pr men. You say jaw size = success. So explain David Coulthard.... -
1) What a timing light is or what that looks like?? A light that when hooked up flashes when the #1 spark plug fires. It look a bit like a pistol, so don't take one into the local Commonwealth Bank branch. 2) When you plug a consult into the stock ECU to check ignition timing does that mean what is set at the CAS is what it will show on the consult screen plugged into the ECU? Or is the only real way to see what ignition timing is sat at the crank by using a timing light? Because looking at the consult it shows 20 degrees BTDC. What is shown by the timing light should match what the ECU thinks it is. You adjust the CAS to make them the same.

Essnetially the same property that gives an I section better bending resistance (buckling resistance) about the crank axis gives it more rotational inertia. Yes it is, but I did say as far as the conrods are concerned. I understand this, but different length conrods can give markedly different results on the dyno. I just find it odd that no one bothers thinking about this one very important property. Have fun.

Will have a go at some answers... What are the complications with getting exhaust and inlet aftermarket cams in a CVT 25DE? Um, like....? What size's/lift/duration are best for street driving? Anything to enhance Mid AND high range? With regard to this motor, not sure. How much power will gain with a good tune? Depends on the cam & any other components fitted. What prices am I looking at for a good set of cams? About $1k for two. Sometimes more. Is it worth going overkill and getting massive cams? No. This will simply remove low & mid range torque & you wont be able to pick up any top end hp. What are the differences in cams? E.i How and what happens if you increase left/duration? Lift (not left) is simply the amount by which the cam lifts the inlet and or exhaust valve away from the head. Duration is the length of time (in degrees) that the cam does this for. More duration valve is open longer, more lift valve is open further. How do I tell the left/duration? It will be stated by the manufacturer. Will I have to get cam gears? Not necessarily. At what point will I need to go larger injectors? When you run out of injector flow. Broadly every cc/min in a 6 cylinder equates to a rwhp.

It stops the master cylinder from moving forward by placing a mechanical stop in front of it (tied to the shock tower) See the photo. If you want to get an idea of what is going on lift the bonnet & watch the master cylinder whilst a mate presses on the brakes...

Well if your foot was close to the floor you probably boiled your fluid in which case replacing it should make the problem go away. With regard to the pads - well some types come back after they get too hot, but others are stuffed for ever more. It depends on what they are made of. If you want an opinion I would spend the $200 or whatever on some new pads. They are after all some of the most important parts on your car.

Greatest F1 Driver Of All Time?
djr81 replied to Kozeyekan's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Well Shane Warne is the greatest exponent of leg spin bowling the world has ever seen & Muralithurin is a third rate chucker and a sook who is abbroad minded personely useless away from the subcontinent. Does that help? -
Would suggest: 1: Re-write post so that is atleast sounds coherent. 2. Invest in a brake master cylinder stopper from someone like Cusco to stop the firewall flexing. 3. Don't worry about the level of fluid - as the pads wear it will lessen. 4. Depending on how much braking you are doing it may just be fade, ie pad gets hot, pad loses friction coefficient.

Greatest F1 Driver Of All Time?
djr81 replied to Kozeyekan's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
First races I can remember of Senna was him in the JPS Lotus-Renault. Absolutely staggering throttle control & general driving. There may be some stuff on Youtube which you can compare with todays cars. Different world. He was a bit stuffed in the head by the whole Prost/J M Balestre thing in the late 80's/early 90's. -
1. Yes am doing that presently. 2. Not bitching about the product quality. Just annoyed that it doesn't fit.

Here is a pretty picture of my allegedly drop in replacement intercooler for my R32 R. Won't name brands but the more perceptive of you will be able to see the name helpfully painted on the thing. Judging from the weekends results - to paraphrase Warnie this mob can't race, can't fabricate. Good work.

Doesn't take much to get him fired up does it? Going from 45th to a lap down didn't really ruin his day. Shame he hasn't got a competitive car as he was always pretty good value. Not least on the radio.
