  1. How could you say he is not? Easy. Just include in the measure of greatness the requirement for even the slightest bit of integrity. More often than not he team mate was second rate. More often than not his team mate was contractually obliged to be second rate. Remember how close Irvine came to being world champion when Schumacher broke his leg? And how easily Mika Salo hosed Irvine?
  2. No by me he won't. Ferrari will undoubtedly outlast Schumacher. Through their whole time in F1 they have always been more important than the dirvers whom they employed. The bloke replacing him is an better driver in any case. hopefully, none. The present dominating world champion. Don't much care if the door does hit him in the arse on the way out....
  3. Welcome to my world. My rear rotors cracked on my GT-R. I was only (At the time) using Bendix Ultimates on the rears & was always careful to let the rotors cool properly. Did the cracks you have in your rotors start from the small return grooves on the outer circumference? IMHO, the best bet is not to use these rotors......
  4. Best bet is to do a search. This subject gets covered alot. GT-R's & GTS-T's are sensitive to ride height (They HATE being set up too low) & also to differences in the front & rear ride heights (rake angle). You should find what you need.
  5. Nice work, but I think you are being a bit harsh on the strut winged Brabham. No car with such wings looked pretty & they all had them for a time. Some of Gordon Murray's early creations with the wedge style front wings were pretty damn ugly too. Also the March (cant remember the model off the top of my head) with an oval front wing that looked like a tea tray...
  6. Also the airboxes from the 94 season with holes punched through them... Maybe some of the less successful ground effects cars from 1980 or there abouts. The all time winner surely must be a thing from the 1972 Indy 500 called a Parnelli-Offenhauser VPJ-1. It had these wierd dihedral wings stuck beside the driver. You porbably won't find pictures of it on the net, but there is a photo of the thing in the current Motorsport magazine (Vol 82, number 9). The one with the Can Am McLaren on the front & the write up about the 956 Porsche. Dammit I want a McLaren Eagle M6B for Christmas.
  7. How about the X wings on the Tyrrell? Reckon they might run a close second.
  8. There is a novel thought. Taste Police. Maybe Bernie & Max could get that organised. I would be concerned for the entire McLaren pit crew however. Black leather & a German connection do not a happy combination make..... Actually, on that basis the first McLaren Mercedes would have to be burned at the stake. That horrible wing on top the air box & the pointy nose. That's before they built the fat bastard version for Nigel.
  9. How about the dodgy front wing?
  10. They forgot to mention the whole dodgy Ferrari flexi wing crap in Malaysia & earlier.
  11. Yeah, I always preferred MS tightly PR scripted podium "celebrations" I thought Alonso had won as many GP's as MS this year anyway. Aside from scoring ten more points.
  12. Sorry, Baron, can't get on the MS bandwagon. Too busy hoping Cosworth go out with a proper result. By the way, aren't you the one with the fixation on Alonso's nut sack?
  13. Sounds like you need to talk to Kim Ledger....
  14. How dare you insinuate that Yamamoto is not in the same league as Sato.
  15. Shit like this happens to pretty much all the car companies from time to time. Atleast Holden did the right thing & recalled the cars. Unlike, say Mitsubishi....
  16. It is going to suck in a way becuase by freeing up testing on track on Fridays the teams will undoubtedly go to the race with more refined set ups. So the animals (aka teams) will basically be forming up on the grid two by two. Still it is better than not having anyone who's name you recognise going around on the Friday....
  17. Lindsay, This is usually one of two things: 1. Have you fitted a catch can to the oiling system? As often as not these smoke after a run on the track. 2. The oil feed or return lines to the turbo leak at the connection. Usually this is a complete bastard of a thing to find.
  18. Um, JDM imports do them. They have them listed for $1300, so you are pretty close with the estimate. I thought I saw the Mychron TG timer on the back page of the Motorsport NSW mag for $449. So the simple lap time is much cheaper. On the other hand the driftbox tells you lateral & longitudinal gees, speed, drift angle, track position & some other handy features. Unfortunately it doesn't log rpm which is a bit of a silly omission. That lot will tell you much more than just a straight lap time or even a sectored lap time.
  19. I use basically this set up. IMHO I don't think it is up to handling 470rwhp.
  20. Um, sorry Baron - how much is it?
  21. Why not get a driftbox? You can get sector timing plus other useful info from the downloads. www.driftbox.com Not sure who the local vendor is.
  22. Is anyone out there using the AP racing CP5200 caliper on their R32 GT-R? If so I have a couple of questions: How is the front/rear balance on the smaller piston size? Which rotor are you using? (I believe the caliper does not come from AP with a 30mm wide disc in mind, yet I understand many people run the R33 front discs) Physically, how wide is the caliper? I ask this because I am a little unsure if my rims will clear a fat caliper as there is not a huge amount of clearance even on the Sumitomo calipers
  23. I think he will have gotten away lightly if he only has to take one for the team... The Brazillian GP should be interesting. What I find odd is given Bernie's frothing at the mouth over the better TV figures that Bahrain got over Melbourne (because of the time zone thing) why do they let the last race of the year go to Brazil?
  24. The Gt-R, being one of the last of the Group A cars, can reasonably be expected to be one of the best. People do tend to forget how extreme most of the homolgation specials looked when released. Hell people were having seizures over the VL Walkinshaw Commode & other than the aero that had bugger all going for it.
  25. Spring/Dampers are height adjustable (via circlips). Damping rates are non adjustable.
