Long story short. Replaced the solenoids. Now have more boost.

It isn't and if you want to see how rubbish not having a differential is watch a V8 Supercar mid corner - their apex speeds are awful on corners like turn 1 at Wanneroo a hairpin of reasonable radius. They brake very deep into the corner and are on the gas early but wobble horribly in the middle of the corner. I found the difference in balance huge just by changing the oil out in my Nismo 1.5 way. Chucked some friction modifier in it to shut it up and suddenly the car turned - to the extent I am now looking for more rear grip for better balance and am unsure how much trail braking the thing will take once the balance is restored. I guess to backtrack a little what I said about the 2 way it is probably worth teasing out the different characteristic between the ramp angles and preload in the diff. A 1.5 way Nismo diff has sod all ramp angle on the over run.

The last time Alonso was at McLaren it ended badly. $100 million dollars worth of bad. People were surprised when he went back and I reckon he has been pretty dignified this year too - as he usually is. Just don't reckon anyone thought the Honda would be quite so shit to start with, although they are making progress.

The driver can ask for whatever he wants but the team on the pit wall makes the call because they have more data. Hell they can see no one out in Ferraris pit. But they thought (wrongly) they had enough time anyway. “The simple answer is we got the maths wrong,” said Toto Wolff. “We thought we had a gap which we didn’t have when the safety car came out, and Lewis was behind the safety car and the calculation was simply wrong. Something about not having GPS at Monaco.

But how long do you reckon he can keep it up for before he goes postal? After the next engine blow up/overheat/energy recovery system failure/energy storage failure/Q3 outage in Canadia?

Really? I tried to watch Indy last night. Fell asleep. Twice. Dunno I love the idea of it but the reality just puts me to sleep. Probably doesn't help that the back end of the cars look like blocks of flats.

A few random things. 1. If you had have seen the rubbish that was imported to Straya under the 15 year rule (1989 & a few 1990 model R32's) you would have a healthy scepticism for anything that is left. To be honest I don't know whether or not we got all the crap ones or just all the 89 MY 32's that were ever built. If it were me I would wait for a 1991 version as supply will increase greatly I would have thought as they were mostly not allowed to be imported into Oz. 2. Parts are pretty easy, all things considered. 3. Nostalgia is most of the reason for owning an old car. Most old cars are never restored properly - R32 being no exception. 4. Most cars ont he internet look better than they do in real life. It is only by owning something that you get to know its faults down to the tiniest missing nut, bolt or washer. This was reinforced to me when the owner of a car I thought was the business said of an oil leak "It was only the old dipstick being pushed out of the holder". Well that is ok then. May need to reconsider my position in the whole stand up shouting match I had with my ex engine builder about that very thing.

Rubbish it did. Asking about a new set of tyres is a reasonable question. At the end of the day it is the team on the pit walls call irrespective of how much of a sookie la la the driver is being. They got it wrong and bear the responsibility for the mistake. The screw up was in not knowing the gap to second when he got to the pit entrance and reacting to that rather than other concerns.

Don't put a 2 way in it. I mean not being able to turn on trailing throttle isn't much fun. There are better (quicker) options.

It is farking ridiculous. Teams going bust and massive inequality in income distribution and their way to fix it is to go back to refueling. Genius.

5 seconds isn't close and RIck Kelly cant drive.

If you are running 300rwhp just leave it alone. If you want a bit more then do the few upgrades. Wouldnt bother with E85 for that level. Maybe a Nismo style catch can although they want drug money for them. But yes get a comp/leakdown test.tl:dr. Check it, use it, dont fk with it.

I never had a problem with winding up a standard internal motor. Then I got it rebuilt as a prelude to more horsepowers. Anyway after three builds its almost as good as a stocker. From my experience I had 450rwhp on stock internals and it was fine. Just make sure it is in decent condition before you start. tl:dr. Use it. If you want advice on oil the best is: Use a Nissan pump. If you are taking the sump off put a baffle kit in it. The fat Nissan rings help stop blowby which is the cause of oil hanging up in the head. None of the 48 dozen "fixes" really help if your blowby isn't under control. Of the 48 dozen fixes the most effective is to vent the blowby out of the sump in such a way as to not have to go through the head. If you are doing head drain mods its engine out anyway. Once its out you may as well.......... tl:dr. Bandaid fixes are only bandaids. How many bandaids to you want to put on before you fix it properly?

Um, the aero of the 90's kills it.

Oil Control In Rb's For Circuit Drag Or Drift
djr81 replied to Sydneykid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Be very interested to see what is inside the thing if at all possible. If it is straight forward would be easy enough to knock one up out of aluminium and fit it in the place of the Nismo can - the inside of which is just a deflector plate, basically. -
Not sure where you got that from.

Looks nice but no idea where you are going to find the room to fit two of them. -

Build it like a cyclone. https://www.google.com.au/search?q=cyclone+oil+air+separator&safe=active&sa=X&biw=1600&bih=719&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&ei=iZNSVYb-NMi3oQTsvICYAQ&ved=0CDQQsAQ -

Suggestions. Use a fairly blunt drill bit. Different returns may need different size bits - I cant remember one of the rear ones gets awful close to the spring seat. Clean, clean and clean it afterwards. Don't bother with the Mines baffles. Put some dash fittings in the sump for breathing/oil returns. -
Pretty dull race. Other than Ferrari screwing Tool around there wasn't anything much to keep anyone awake. Sucks to be McLaren Will take more than a new paint job to get some actual speed out of that thing. As for Torro Rosso....... went well in Quali but was hopeless there after. Anyway mostly a race of screw ups rather than anything to impress. Britney will be pleased with his weekend but I cant think of anyone else who will be happy.

Good. Like Car SOS. Like Skylines. Also like Pop Will Eat Itself.

Depends on how long it is sitting around waiting for parts. As the N1 is still fine for a road driven car I would just pay the money and get on with life. But each top their own.
-
It gets hot where I live too (Western Australia). I run an N1 pump and have never had an issue with my GTR overheating in traffic or idling at the track or at any other time. The N1 works fine. Just get one and save yourself the messing about trying to find a stock one. Also - a general comment - save yourself endless frustration by ignoring keyboardists who cant differentiate between something being different and something being inadequate. Sometimes different is just different.
