R32 Gt-r Rear Swaybar D Bush Size
djr81 replied to No Crust Racing's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
A standard rear R32 GTR anti roll bar has an outside diameter of 25.4mm or 1" in old school imperial. Says so in the service manual. -
Yeah can understand why. Wouldnt an XR6 motor out of, say, an EB be better? Honestly having owned too many GTR's and RB26's they really aren't as brilliant as people make them out to be. I don't know that I would recommend one for a conversion. Not least for the reason that (From memory) the exhaust is on the wrong side for a Falcon.
-
Well to be honest I don't know if they will fit - probably with a bit of work but its one of those why bother things. Not sure that many people would have ever tried but RB25/20's & 25/30's exist so you would think you could get a 20 head to fit on a 26 if you really tried. But: The Rb26 head is a pretty good thing and given that most RB26's fail in the bottom end I would recommend you go looking for an Rb26 head. As for the flow thing, no. The car a 2 or 4 door?

Why do you want to put an RB20 head on an Rb26?

Wheel Sizes & Offsets For Skylines
djr81 replied to Sydneykid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I bought some KU36's which had a tread wear of 180. Manufacture date was late last year. From tempetyres for $205ea for 255/40/17. Cheapest I could find on the Nittos was $280ea from Ozze tyres. Treadwear is 200. -
So did the McLaren show any speed at any point before Nando passed out through boredom?
-
You have to worry a bit that they don't appear to be getting on top of much. But then again most of the runners last year had more problems than the early settlers. Doesn't look good, however. Still you be happy with Lotus' efforts?
-
You talking about the soft compound Z221 - the C7? How are they relative to the A050's?

Creaking And Clanking Bilstein Strut Tops
djr81 replied to rondofj's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
The problem with all this is you are running out of shock travel - note shock travel not spring travel. I don't care how good the shock absorber is if you don't have any stroke for it to work in it wont work. See here. http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/374385-bilstein-coilover-conversion/page-1 Part of the fix is to replace the strut tops which gets you shock travel back. As an aside replacing all that old stuff will also get rid of your squeeeeeking & clunking. -

R32 Gtr Attessa. Different Behaviour
djr81 replied to Badgaz's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Usual suspects are air in the attessa system or wear in the clutch plates of the attessa system. There are plenty of threads on this so try a search. -
Singapore itself is better than the Singapore GP. Best place to watch it from is the pool at the Marina Bay Sands hotel. Avoid the stand on the shoreline above the soccer field as you cant see shit from there. Other places are ok - best is probably turn 1/2.

Yeah well its the way ch 10 is going. Like the rugby tour last year. They showed the Wallabies versus Wales, Ireland etc but the last and most important game - vs England they didn't broadcast. Just shedkhantery on a massive scale. Fkn too cheap to do anything properly thereby preventing someone else from doing so. As much as I hate Rupert and his minions I don't see an alternative. Paying almost as much for a interweb connection and hit/miss streaming isn't exactly a winner of an idea either.

A new deal between Fox Sports and Network Ten that will see just 10 Formula 1 races shown live on free-to-air will start this season. Statements announcing the five-year agreement confirm that the subscription service will carry live coverage of practice, qualifying and races from this season. Ten of those races will also be simulcast live on Network Ten, which had exclusively hosted F1 in Australia since 2003. The free-to-air station will continue to broadcast all sessions from Albert Park’s Australian Grand Prix as part of the agreement. The 10 races that are exclusively live on Fox Sports will be seen on Ten’s sub-channel One HD in 60 minute highlights form at 9:30pm on the following Monday. So to conclude. Murdoch can go eat a d!ck. So can channel 10. Actually particularly channel 10. Don't sign contracts to not show sh!t just so you can broadcast endless repeats of mash or the home shopping channel or whatever other steaming load of crap you have dredged up from somewhere that people give no fk for. No wonder your going broke. Just hurry up and get done with it instead of fking everyone about. Nobody watches highlight packages of motor races. They are inherently sh!t. List of races channel ten will be showing - amazingly they are all the sh!t ones. Australian live broadcast schedule for 2015 Formula 1 World Championship 1. March 13-15: Melbourne, Australia (FOX & TEN) 2. March 27-29: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (FOX) 3. April 10-12: Shanghai, China (FOX) 4. April 17-19: Sakhir, Bahrain (FOX & TEN) 5. May 8-10: Catalunya, Spain (FOX) 6. May 22-24: Monte Carlo, Monaco (FOX & TEN) 7. June 5-7: Montreal, Canada (FOX) 8. June 19-21: Spielberg, Austria (FOX & TEN) 9. July 3-5: Silverstone, Great Britain (FOX) 10. July 17-19: TBA, Germany (FOX & TEN) 11. July 24-26: Budapest, Hungary (FOX) 12. August 21-23: Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium (FOX & TEN) 13. This is in all probability what has happened. Yes it should get redone - but budget that and if the numbers stack up and the car is still good why not? Link to car?
-
Think it is $50 a month for the sports package. NFI what is n it F1, V8, EPL & Union? If it covers that lot would almost be worthwhile. Couldn't see myself ever bothering to watch a practice session, however.

Some cars (Not, for example GTR's) have pads similar to the normal brake pads the handbrake works off. Pulling it on when you have hot rotors doesn't do the rotor much good. A lot of Nissans have an old school internal drum style handbrake and it really doesn't matter so much. But yeah drive a couple of hundred metres slowly to nowhere before you park up. Helps get the worst of the heat out of the rotors etc.
