  1. Well the A050's are $520 each and the KU36 were out on special from Tempe tyres at $250 each. I was going to buy them but I noticed that their special of free shipping didn't include anyone who lived outside a capital city. So I ditched that and will probably get them from the local shop as by the time you add freight and fitting there is nothing in the price. Either that or some AD08R's if I can find them on special at some point as they are $400 each. Just needing a road tyre than can do an occasional hillclimb. Basically they are for driving to the track more so than on it. 600km worth of travel to/from the track and four degrees neg camber don't make for a long lasting tyre.
  2. And so it begins. Take note of the day you laughed at the prospect of spending $20k to fix a GTR. Yeah but I just want a Wavetrac diff out of them. Which apparently they dont make from GTR's. See here for the full list of fail. http://www.wavetrac.net/application.htm Anything close to fitting the rear?
  3. Of which you speak. Speaketh not its name. http://www.holinger.com.au/pdfs/gtr.pdf
  4. If you get to this point the answer is Hollinger. As an aside Hollinger distribute Wavetrac - so how do we convince them to sell us some Wavetrac goodness for GTR's?
  5. Reckon the aero would work better if the parts were all busted?
  6. Oiling issues aren't about oil supply. They are about blowby control and oil return.
  7. Shame these aren't available. http://www.wavetrac.net/index.htm
  8. Probably been done to death but after a tyre on which I can drive 400 kms, do a hill climb and sprint then drive 400 kms home on. Seeing as the events are in Albany in the middle of winter there is a distinct chance it will be cold/raining. Not after the last word in competitive R comps (have some A050's for proper stuff) but was wondering if there was a decent S tyre tyre or similar that I could use for this trip and as a roadie thereafter. Falken RT615. Kumho KU36. Yokie AD08R. Other suggestions?
  9. Contacted ARK directly and have 20 on the way for $90. Win.

  12. Black leather Nismo is a good option. IS Nismo but doesn't stick out like dogs wotsits. http://www.thenismoshop.com/Shift-Knobs-_c_802.html http://www.thenismoshop.com/Nismo-Factory-JDM-Leather-Shift-Knob--32865-RN003_p_1110.html
  13. Don't remember. Dick Johnson was all over it as he had the Shell sponsorship at that time. If you dig around the Sierra histories there will be some info in there. You couldn't buy 98 octane in 92 I don't think.
  14. Found some BBS LM's in the preferred size so they will have to do.
  15. Shell. If I remember correctly they used the unleaded sold in Darwin as it was more stable at high temperatures. Not sure of the octane rating.
  16. Not really. It is a high strength steel. Chrome moly is what it is usually referred to as.
  17. You've lost the tool or not sure what it fits into? Usually it is either a half inch drive or into another socket 19mm long series or similar?
  18. Thing is they are STEEL nuts. The collar on them is aluminium but the nut itself is steel.
  19. Lewis Hamilton has been voted the best driver in the annual Autosport Formula 1 team principals' poll, but Nico Rosberg didn't fare well. In a secret ballot, 10 team bosses polled their drivers of the season under the 25-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1 scoring system and it is no surprise that Hamilton came out tops having won this year's Drivers' Championship. The 29-year-old claimed 194 points with Fernando Alonso slotting in behind him despite not winning a race in his final season for Ferrari while Daniel Ricciardo, who tasted success three times in his debut campaign with Red Bull, completed the top three. Williams' impressive youngster Valtteri Bottas was fourth on the back of six podiums while Hamilton's team-mate Rosberg was surprisingly only fifth despite winning five races and finishing second in the Drivers' standings. According to Autosport, Caterham were not included in the poll "due to multiple changes of management". AUTOSPORT TEAM PRINCIPALS' TOP 10 2014 Autosport Team Principals' Top 10 2014 1 Lewis Hamilton (194 points) 2 Fernando Alonso (155 points) 3 Daniel Ricciardo (135 points) 4 Valtteri Bottas (119 points) 5 Nico Rosberg (115 points) 6 Felipe Massa (55 points) 7 Sebastian Vettel (53 points) 8 Jules Bianchi (44 points) 9 Jenson Button (40 points) 10 Daniil Kvyat (28 points)
  20. Its not actually careless. For whatever reasons the jacking points are weak and you can take all the precautions you like and still collapse them.
  21. Tell that to the tyre shop nugget with the rattle gun.
  22. I used to go love picking stuff up from the plating works. Nothing like getting your home made bodge cad/zinc plated to make it look like JDM... Shame the local plater has retired and the nearest is now Perth.
  23. Trying to remember when the last French GP was?Not surprised Jenson took a pay cut. No idea where the 33 million pounds is coming from. Where are McLaren at with sponsorship. There were rumours of Spanish coin?
  24. The reason for them being "A bit tight" was because the fronts and rears are different. Fronts are a 14.3mm (0.565") knurl (ie as per Subaru) and the rears are 13mm.
