P2 results. Usual story I guess. Dan only did 3 laps - had an off I think. Apparently Verstappen did ok in P1 too for what that is worth. Sort of a photo but can someone help out with how these should be cropped? Obviously something vaguely panoramic but I keep getting told not to put the horizon near the middle which sort of screws up the symmetry.

Caterham themselves say they aint dead. Also https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/project-brabham now at 162 thousand pounds.

What substance would you use to "service" a wiring loom that would potentially contaminate the electronics that the loom plugs in to? Think hair gel is a more believable explanation.
-
No just tuned.

Well that stupid front splitter will last 5 seconds under load before it bends and finished up under the car.

Brabham crowd funding appears to be working. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/project-brabham Wonder if it would actually be interesting? Brabham-Engineer Brabham-Engineer will involve the community in the development of the team’s racing technology while providing online training on what it takes to reach the pinnacle of motorsport engineering. Project challenges will cover all aspects of aerodynamics, CFD, suspension geometry and gearboxes, where members can get involved in the development of specific parts or even a future Brabham prototype, with certification of their achievements. We are also in advanced talks with a market-leading CAD software developer to integrate their technology into our web application. You will be able to see your designs come to life as you contribute towards the development of Brabham Racing. Brabham-Engineer is more than just an e-learning platform. The race team brings everything alive, putting context to our content and a providing a practical experience that’s unlike anything else in the market.

Guess you get desperate when you are looking at being unemployed.
-
Too soon. I mean he looks to have some talent but shouldn't they put him in something a bit quicker for a year or two? Like a Sauber? Pressure must be on Team Cheater Abu Dhabi if Kimi is to lead them next year based on this years results. You would think Grosjean would still be half a chance at either McLaren or TCAD.
-
Rumour has Honda forking out to buy him out. Who to Ferrari then?
-
So who gets the advertising money - not the circuits. Actually is there a split out somewhere of roughly who gets what or is that all secret?
-
Farken crowd funding. Clearly a better business model than having actual capital to invest. Hopeless.

Bathurst 2014 Tariff 2 Super Cars Discussion
djr81 replied to evil_weevil's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Must have been 91 which has him (on Wikipedia) in a Perkins build Mobil 1 Commodore DNFing on lap 61. Found it on youtube. Wasn't a slap just Larry trying to rip his helmet off because he couldn't hear. 1.08.30 in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsYPmCN_U3U -

Shame they didn't show Larry slapping Mezera in the pits at Bathurst when he couldn't understand why/how the engine in the VN(?) had shat itself. -

Thought the Volvos were ok for fuel? Would not be unhappy if Gary Rogers pulled it off. And yes Reynolds actually has a personality, unlike most of the others. Although when Moffat channels his old mans rage he is good value in front of the camera. -
Bathurst 2014 Tariff 2 Super Cars Discussion

Hard to think anyone other than Whincup will win. In fact I think I will put the rent money on it. The odds of them having a better car set up than anyone else are unbackable. Which is not to say that I want 888 to win anything ever again. Of the other hopes it all depends if they can get their cars tuned to be quick late in the day McLaughlin, Giz and Frosty are all in the same boat. FPR may be the best chance of beating the 888 team but they have all lost their way lately. HRT have come good but Sandown isn't Bathurst although they have loads of horse powers judging from the last time out which never hurts. If Murph can keep it of the wall and Courtney not screw up maybe - but it is less likely than Tander driving well and pulling a result out of nothing. Nissan, Benz - forget it. Same for anyone else too. -
Would be shit for it to be decided at the last race because of the lame double points nonsense. Also: Ferrari have signalled approval in the past for the prospect of running a third car, and their position remains unchanged with a spokesman saying: “It’s not about the survival of Formula 1, but for the show. With all due respect, people would prefer to see three more Red Bulls, Ferraris and Mercedes than the other cars.” Well, I for one wouldn't. Would rather see the midfield get enough coin to be viable. Time for Ecclestone to sod off and sit in a retirement home somewhere.

Camber Arms - Which To Install First?
djr81 replied to AMR33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Usually the rear is done to reduce camber and therefore tyre wear. The front on the other hand is to increase camber to reduce understeer. So if for the road - the rear. If for the track the front. Or just do both at the same time and save yourself the cost of a wheel alignment. -
Hmm Kimi must be spewing. He finally finds some speed and the car fails him. Lots of anger about. Grosjean with the dummy spit, Britney the same. Good job by Dan, Massa and Homo too. Should be a cracker of a race. Wonder how long the super softs will last.
-
Be sad to miss out on the lulz when the drivers cant remember what the codes mean. "Kimi, the rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain." "WTF does that mean". But more seriously subjectivity in rule interpretation is usually where you get the biggest shit fights. eg its ok for Ferrari to install their barge boards on the piss but its not ok for anyone to drive around a hundred metres in front of them in quali lest they upset their aero. Also if they can trust a fuel flow meter to be within 1% accurate they can trust a temperature or pressure or strain gauge, surely? None of that prevents the info coming up on the steering wheel. Some of the teams are already having a whinge their displays are too small.
-
Easy. Publish a list of what is ok to transmit for safety reasons. Rest can be logged only. Can be a on/off go/no go signal so if for example the aero load goes below a certain value then the fault signal gets sent and the driver pits. Still better than Fernando is faster than you style nonsense.

So stop them sending data. Problem solved.

Why the ARP studs? Would you not be better off with the standard studs if it is a standard rebuild? -

TL DR. Valve stem seals. -
Why not just ban the telemetry? Let them log it - to an SD card and then download/dissect it afterwards. The pit wall can tell the driver anything they want. Just without the telemetry.
