R32 Gtr Purest Build
djr81 replied to Cateans05's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Do you have a copy of the workshop manual? The A/C wiring diagram is in the back of that. -
Solidarity bruvvers and sisters. F1 is sport for the couple hours they are on track on a Sunday afternoon. The rest of the time its just business. So the big teams lock in their advantages and incomes with no thought to anyone other than themselves. Best and most unforgivable example was Ferrari negotiated themselves in the position of having the right to veto rule changes. You are right there are too many snouts in the trough. It is madness that the circuits and the teams are the ones that are struggling most. I mean other than putting on the show what else do they do? Venture capitalists who give no fk about the sport are raking in the big coin.

But that is the point. There should be somewhere in the midfield that a team can survive and if they are good enough, prosper. The lack of money means a lack of development which leaves them somewhere down the back of the grid and potentially going bust. Meanwhile RedBull & Ferrari hoover up all the cash which they clearly don't really need to be viable. The last team which wasn't manufacturer or drinks company backed (So not RedBull or MB) to go from being a midfield runner to a contender was probably Jordan. And that was what, near on 20 years ago? Williams may just get back up on the plane but by god they are spending some coin to do so. Hope it pays off.

Pretty bad for Williams as they are losing money this year. From GPWeek mag. For the first six months of 2014 they lost $33.4M US against an income of $60M. Ouch. Bad because they now have an actual sponsor, a pay driver and a bunch of prize money although the tv rights from 4th in the constructors should held kick in for the next 6. But if they are losing money then god help the likes of Sauber and Lotus. Still it is Ferrari's, Redbull's etc (ie the big team but mostly those two) who hoover up all the money to the detriment of the smaller teams. Not going to be so clever when there is no one left to compete against. Basically if the business model doesn't stack up for the mid field then it is broken. Third cars suck balls. All of the teams should bring their own designs. No dodgy Benetton/Ligier hook-ups like Tom Walkinshaw managed before he went bankrupt.

The double point stupidity makes it a mess but basically 6 races, 22 points difference and 7 points differential for a 1-2. But like you say one DNF and it all changes.

Watch it from the pool at the Marina Bay Sands?

Thought Homo tried pretty hard on the podium to overcome his tardism. Britney looked to be sulking when Lewis went in for a cuddle. Dan needs to sort his Saturdays and his starts. But damn fine drive none the less. Also I like the conspiracy theories that Rosberg deliberately threw the race away. Nice work. Will be interesting in Singapore. Homo needs to keep winning to close the 22 point gap down - there are only 6 races left.

Not that I want to buy into the new Lotus being the same as the old one but Lotus to Mercedes shades of Lotus to Honda in 1987? With their hopeless aero it may be more accurate than not. Not that Grosjean is the next Senna or Nick Chester the next Gerard Ducarouge. But maybe Pastor is the next Johnnie Dumphries (Without the title or the class)
-
Lotus are going MB next year Troy don't forget. Not sure about their lube, however. Anyway another reason for MC to go Grosjean?
-
The photo is of one of the GP's when smokes sponsorship was banned - probably Silverstone or similar. So it isn't supposed to be the same.

Expected better of Williams at Spa. Cant work out when they are easy on their tyres. I think it is in low to medium downforce circuits when the track temp is 38 - 40 degrees on days beginning with a T or similar. Also, do want, is cheap enough. Wonder if the come in XXL? http://www.ompracing.it/en_gb/race-kart-mechanic-wear/suits/ayrton-senna-replica-suit.html

Couldn't understand why Williams were carrying so much wing
-
Low downforce has traditionally been a strength for Force India. Not sure to what extent they have lost that or their oddball strategies have been hiding it.

Anfanee - R32 Gtr

Isnt the Nismo interior just a hugely expensive set of vinyl seat covers? -
No pressure then. They have one remaining chance of winning a race this year and a whole pile of credibility resting on the outcome. Good luck fellas.

I wash my engine bay the same way as myself: With a rag on a stick.

"Toto Wolff, Paddy Lowe, Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton met today in the boardroom of Mercedes Amg Petronas headquarters in Brackley to discuss the events of the Belgian Grand Prix," the team said in a statement. "During this meeting, Nico acknowledged his responsibility for the contact that occurred on lap two of the Belgian Grand Prix and apologised for this error of judgment. "Suitable disciplinary measures have been taken for the incident. "Mercedes-Benz remains committed to hard, fair racing because this is the right way to win world championships. It is good for the team, for the fans and for Formula One. "Lewis and Nico understand and accept the team's number one rule: there must be no contact between the team's cars on track." Rosberg was blamed by the team following the race for causing what was an avoidable collision.

Rumour mill has ground away on Tool to McLaren. On the assumption that McClaren want someone who of the top line drivers would be unhappy enough with their current circumstance/ballsy/desperate enough to take the gamble. Alonso. You'd think no way although the current Ferrari is still rubbish. Homo. If he gets sick of his current team. Vettel. Sick of being hosed by his team mate yet? Bottas: Too inexperienced still? And not in the top line category: Grosjean: Maybe sick of the DNF's at Lotus. Hulk. If he's not too big. Button. More of the same?

Just go buy some 5W50 Mobil 1. It is cheaper than the thinner grades and far better than the SEMI SYNTHETIC oil Nissan originally specced. Get the 5 litre container and tip all of it into the motor.

Clear Indicators/lenses On White Bnr32?
djr81 replied to GTR-N1's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Well from another R32 owning Richard: No. Just no. -
Yes. And no. It depends on the event. Some such as rally sprints allow you a navigator. You are allowed an instructor at times. And on some practice/ride days passengers are allowed. But it depends on the event and on what the circuit allows the event organisers to do.

Have to be an eye watering amount of coin to have any influence. A world championship would be worth how many millions over the course of his retirement?
