  1. Go and get it inspected before you start spending money on random parts. They will tell you if it is just a wheel alignment, flogged out bushes, buggered shock absorbers etc etc etc. Just go somewhere reputable.
  2. Was the Lola a Lola-Hart or Lola Ford? On another note was reading this book last night. http://www.pitstop.net.au/products/the-v12-engine/ Anyway the section on the 3.5 litre V12's built for F1 before they reverted to 3.0 litre motors was interesting. Turns out Isuzu, HKS, and Nissan all had 3.5 litre V12's. As did Porsche (A complete dog of a thing which some would remember from the Footwork arrows days) and Ford. About the only people to make it work were Honda. And even then it was arguable that with packaging included it wasnt as good as the V10.
  3. Yes quite right.
  4. AU motor in an XG?
  5. The car is from Global Auto in Japan - who usually have very clean cars. So someone can import it - get on with it then. http://www.global-auto.ne.jp/stock/public_model_home.php?model=BNR32
  6. Well as long as his arse keeps pointing towards the ground it will better than his last time out.
  7. I just disconnect the actuators and move things about - both the doos and the actuator. Surprised you got the thing apart without destroying it. Well done. I never could.
  8. Doesnt look like the Porkers have enough pace to annoy Toyota.
  9. Have goen through three of these. Before you chuck the one you have in the bin give it some gentle persuasion as sometimes they just get stuck. Moving it by hand can unstick them and they are good to go.
  10. Yeah ok fail open makes sense otherwise a stuffed boost controller means then engine will get whatever a shut wastegate will given.
  11. Well the first question is: what do you have now? If you are just after some softer coilovers then you need to ask/find out the spring rates for your current set and compare them to what you may be looking at. OR You could go the Bilstein/Whiteline (or current equivalent) route.

  13. See photo for gory details of inside of new boost control solenoid. Pretty basic stuff. Solenoid measures 38 ohms resistance. Guessing the little vents (on the left hand side with the green paint on the end and then behind that) allow the controller to dump the air out of the waste gate lines when necessary. Oddly (or not?) you can push air through it with no voltage on. Flows from inlet to outlet. Not sure why this is possible.
  14. Force = pressure times area.
  15. No you dont. Not in a GTR on the track. Maybe for drags and maybe for rally style stuff where you cant carry all the corner speed that is available but not for the track. The thing that kills you is understeer, not lack of traction. A large F/R spring rate differential makes the car push. You've slimmed down?
  16. Will do. How far is your place from WA? Struggling to understand why the F/R rate differential. Should hook up with that soft a rear spring. Just worried youd never get on the gas because of the front rate?
  17. I have a master cylinder off my GTR - cant confirm which of the two brands it is until I get home. It has been sitting for a bit too long to guarantee it wont leak but was all good when it came off. Let me know if your interested.
  18. What cams does it have in it?
  19. Just a quick one given the anniversary this weekend. Staggering how much the car moves around and how rubbish the ride control is. http://www.speedcafe.com/2014/04/30/video-sennas-adelaide-pole-lap-1985/
  20. Not a docco but usually worth a listen. http://www.abc.net.au/news/sport/programs/all-torque/
  21. If only someone would tell us what the pharken spring rates are.
  22. Actually Renault introduced pneumatic valve springs on their turbo motor. CSB.
  23. Serisouly, its a fuel filter. Replace it now.
  24. Is written on the springs - something like 0800 250 400 for an 8" long, 2.5" ID, 400lb (7.5kg/mm) spring for example. You can see it on the photo just not high resolution enough to read.
  25. What spring rates are they Fatz?
