  1. Roy is right. Schumacher will be binned & Di Resta will be his replacement.
  2. You cant stab someone in the back unless you are behind them. Ferrari have a long, long history of knifing drivers.
  3. So how much tension? How measured on what (brand) rings?
  4. Which to me indicated that the rear drains are perhaps not as effective as soem make them out to be. Which is different from saying they are not useful.
  5. Murray Walker used to sh!t me to tears. He was in no way impartial. Passion I can live with but daft comments are all you get from Croft.
  6. The current state of the surface at Wanneroo will punish you if your car set up is not spot on. Any understeer you have will ruin your lap time.
  7. Dont use a standard sump with a high volume pump. It is a recipe for a blown motor.
  8. You have no issue with Croft carrying on like a complete muppet?
  9. So the question then is: What size oil restrictor is in the head of your motor?
  10. Some photos.
  11. Hopefully somewhat less than the amount of extra coin Williams will get from finishing in a half way decent position in the constructors championship.
  12. Who would have though a Venezuelen pay driver would have brought Williams in from the wilderness. Senna is going to have to lift his game. As are Red Bull. Just hope that fire is not going to cost Frank too much money. Anyway, looks like winning stuff is good for the share price: http://quotes.wsj.co...teractive-chart
  13. Here is a thought: DONT USE EITHER. For a motor built to use a Nissan pump a higher flow, higher pressure aftermarket pump will simply push too much oil into the head of the motor and make a mess of everything. If you have a stock sump you will run out of oil and destroy your motor. Sort out the harmonic balancer and get a machined rotor for the pump.
  14. Harshness is mainly a function of low speed compression damping. The stiffer this is the harsher the ride. Beyond a surprisingly low point the stiffer this is the less grip the car offers.
  15. Actually if you look at the old school F1 car intercoolers they are mounted (As are radiators) at and angle to the air flow. It reduces drag for a given amount of heat exchange. In a road car it is just for packaging.
  16. Yes the standard pump has a larger outer diameter (81 vesus 77mm) and more teeth. But you cannot see that unless you pull the pump off the motor & the backing plate off the pump.
  17. Well I wouldnt because I dont reckon that any cheap (ie <$2k) adjustable shocks are actually any good. They all tend to have the same issues - the adjusters dont adjust all of the damper curve, they dont do it in a very repeatable manner, they dont do it in a linear manner, they vary greatly from shock to shock etc etc. If you seach google under images for PSS9 damper curves and the shortcomings of the shocks you will dig aup a bit of chat. The Bilsteins are not alone in having issues. On the other hand a fixed damper can accomodate a good range of spring rates. The bottom line is: how many people get the damper curves with the dampers and understand enough to translate that to a better setup? Not many I would wager. Most people end up by screwing in too much damper force anyway and having a pretty horrible setup. Better off talking to proper suspension people and getting B46's re-valved if needed.
  18. I think people are (mistakenly) assuming the PSS9 valving is as good as the non adjustable Bilstein valving. It isnt.
  19. What, you were in a gifted students program too? The crux of it was that the (legitimate) protests by Gardner & many others were not in keeping with how the thing was done in Europe - which was not by the book by any means. Anyway a search dredged up this: Joe Saward, touring car writer for Autosport in Britain, found it all mildly amusing. "Hey, this isn't Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. There's a lot of money at stake here, and if Bathurst wants to lose the World Championship, it's going the right way about it." The inference was that the rules are a little more malleable in Europe. Everyone knows the score. Everyone knows how to play the game. Yet the dumb Aussies actually believe in the letter of the law. 87 was an interesting year, but I enjoyed 89 more after 88 broke my black heart.
  20. Yeah well my view point on it is that he mostly just makes sht up. I got fed up with his pet agendas long ago - back when he used to write for Motorsport News. Hell I still havent forgiven him for what he wrote about the Texaco Sierras at Bathurst in 1987. Not that I hold a grudge, you understand.
  21. False rumour #3: Joe Saward is JUST an independent journalist. Actually Joe Saward is just a muppet. If you disbelieve everything he writes you will be right pretty much all the time. Independent? Journalist? He fails massively on both counts.
  22. Hmm, not sure. Last year he couldnt win a race (until it stopped mattering) because he couldnt deal with the tyres. This year it is because the car sucks the big one. Not sure that either makes for a happy driver. Also, just because Bieber has been rubbish so far is good as far as it goes but doesnt help as much as you would hope.
  23. Dunno, lost count. Anyway as long as Williams & Ricciardo are going ok I can live with it.
  24. Lets see: Pole positions: 0 Wins: 0 Podiums: 0 Championship position: 4th So, yeah, on track.
