  1. Oh dear. Not sure where to start. What occured at Hillsborough, ie a soccer pitch in Sheffield, England twenty years ago is not even remotely like Wanneroo. The venue is set up to handle crowds much larger than the one there on Sunday. The V8's regularly exceeded the 20,000ish people who turned up. You should have tried getting in in the mid 90's before the fences went up around the circuit (ie inside the boundaries) Australia will never host the Soccer world cup. The venue is/was perfectly adequate for the event and for what it is worth the government is committed to tipping millions of dollars into it over the next few years.
  2. Because it is not just to display flashy read only things. It is because you can integrate it with a bunch of other stuff (eg GPS log) and thereby increase the functionality of the logging by orders of magnitude. Added to which whatever you may want to use is fully developed & readilly available. Hell half of it just uses your phone.
  3. There is a world of difference between the Power FC port & what is available & the mass of gear you can now buy to plug into a OBD 2. EG www.dashdaq.com or www.scantools.net
  4. Sorry for the noob question, but is there such a thing available?
  5. Ferrari will doubtless poach him to replace Massa.
  6. Harsh given that two posts ago you didn't even know what a Clubman was.
  7. You can road register clubbies. Most of them are already like that.
  8. So, to summarise: If you want quick, cheap NA (without the gheyness) then get a Westie or a clone there of. Any of the motors listed previous work. Hell I have even seen one with a CA18DET. Or a rotary. Or about 58,000 four cylinder combinations. They are light (hence cheap to run), rwd, competitive & fun. Just make sure you can fit & think long & hard about a IRS widebody version.
  9. Well Ricciardo is from WA. On that basis alone he is obviously massively talented. There is a lot on hype about him over this way. Deservedly so. Hoping they put him in a TR for next year & ditch one or other of the spankers in that team. Hence in 2011 they can get a proper driver line up at Red Bull, ie Webber & Ricciardo.

    Ferrari's

I would just like to point out that my Ferrari is an awesome limited edition. http://store.ferrari.com/en/accessories/el...ed-edition.html
  11. Maybe. But it is hard to shine in such a bucket of *^%#. Not least if you can't do any testing. I am not 100% convinced of teh Hulk. His drive at Imola was pretty ordinary, for example. There again look how Rosberg went this year. Much better than his form had suggested. Although his team mate made him look like a genious, so who knows. Williams looks to be slowly going the same way as Jordan. Lack of results = lack of sponsors = lack of results. Here is hoping they sell enough KERS systems to Porsche to fund the team off their own back.
  12. I thought the rumour was that Senna was off to Lotus. To go with the Renault motors & the new black & gold livery they are supposed to be running. So Senna in a black & gold Lotus Renault. Hmmm. Hulkenberg had a decent second half of the season. But Williams need cash as most of their sponsors are ending their contracts this year. They were after the Mexican bloke with all the Telecom money. Oh and the HRT was probably the worst of the new teams this year. Not that anyone really cared.
  13. I think you will find it is pretty common. Usually the more expensive the car is the less inclined the driver is to have a proper go. I just wish the pushie mindset of most Porker owners would extend to them pushing the car hard around the track rather than pushing in front of people only to wobble around.
  14. The intercooler is a heat exchanger. As is the radiator. The point is that the amount of heat the turbo puts into the compressed air (Which is a measure of its inefficiency) is alot less at lower throttle openings than at WOT. So there is less heat to be removed at low power levels rather than the inter cooling being less able to remove it. The point is that the amount of heat transferred to the pipe section per lb of air (or however you like to measure your air) is negligible. Hence it is not worth bothering insulating the pipe. Or in other words. No.
  15. Good sentiment. Unfortunately I reckon the finishing order will be: The Tool. The gimp in the cheaterer Ferrari. All that is good & noble in F1 ie Webber. Someone down the back behind the try hard midfielders, ie past where everyone stops caring: Hamilton. Webebr has to qualify P1 & make a decent start. Not much hope there then. But fk it I will even promise to use the Yellow Pages again if he can pull it off.
  16. I made a blue for the listing on page one with the stockers - confused a before with an after. According to the Nissan manual the exhaust closes 7 degrees before TDC. Which makes the stock cams: Intake 240 degrees 7 BTDC 53 ABDC Exhaust 236 degrees 63 BBDC 7 BTDC For me that is alot different to the 260 degree Poncams. I would be really interested to see the set ups of those making gains going larger than stock cams at about 4000rpm. As for the off idle bit I found the Poncam B's (with -5 turbos) to require a noticeable amount more throttle to drive at low rpms relative to even a type A setup.
  17. I had this in mind. I installed the Poncam B's with -5 turbos on an Rb26 with stock internals. The result sucked teh wang & the cams were replaced. Car is much better now. Doing this right is important. But even doing everything right as per your list will not magically allow an RB26 with Poncam B's make any decent horsepower at about 4000rpm. They dont cause idle issues - or shouldn't anyway. They do make the car horrible to drive off idle. A check of the compression figures for the car before & after the cam install will show you why.
  18. Not used these guys but the Stoptech rotors look cheap. Shipping will sting but it cant be any worse than ex Japan, surely? http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/project...98-p-18943.html http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/stoptec...8-p-104720.html
  19. Gees man, that is the whole purpose of this forrum these days. More seriously the problem with the type B Poncam is that it kills your torque at 4000rpm (114km/h on the dyno in 4th) without giving you a commensurate increase in top end because the cam lift is not as it could be.
  20. For my 10 cents worth the type B cams suck teh balls. If you have a proper look you get the following: Open Closed Centreline Stock cams 14 degree overlap (commonly modded to 20 degrees) Intake 240 degrees 7 BTDC 53 ABDC 113 degrees Exhaust 250 degrees 65 BBDC 7 ATDC 118 degrees Tomei Poncam A 31 degree overlap Intake 260 degrees 20 BTDC 60 ABDC 110 degrees Exhaust 252 degrees 61 BBDC 11 ATDC 115 degrees Tomei Poncam B 35 degree overlap (modded to 33 degrees) Intake 260 degrees 20 BTDC 60 ABDC 110 degrees Exhaust 260 degrees 65 BBDC 15 ATDC 115 degrees Note the only difference between type A & B is the exhaust cam. Having reverted from the type B to a smaller inlet & exhaust cam the thing goes much, much harder at 4000rpm without giving up anything worth worrying about at the top end when running approx 1 bar on 2860-5's. But for what it is worth the type B's idle fine. The most common reason the RB26 will hunt at idle with them in is you have the idle screw adjusted too far out. Lastly I wouldn't bother doing cams until you have the motor out. Only then is it worth thinking about.
  21. Do a compare & contrast between the pads on the Sumitomo calliper & those on the Brembo. You will be amused by how similar in area they are....
  22. Closer to the front is harder. Front full soft. Rear full hard. Never set mine to anything but those settings. Bucket of nails still understeers at Wanneroo. I thought you hard sorted the turbos 20 pages back??? Oh and the only way you can get E85 in WA in to buy it in a tin.
  23. If you are getting the box rebuilt it would pay you to make sure the selector forks are in good condition.
  24. There is actually someone who does F1 drive days. From memory (dodgy at best) it is in France & they use old AGS chassis.
