  1. Well Trackcorp have managed to put together a full CAMS L2S sprint weekend at Mt Panorama! It is officially the worlds most expensive club sprint but is more based upon a full racing experience than a typical day at Winton. There will be circuit orientation, driver training (headed up by Alex Davidson), non-timed practise followed by basically 1.5 days of sprints. Costs are: Pay before July 25th - $4,900.00 Pay before Oct 25th - $5,180.00 Pay before Nov 25th - $5,600.00 (As I said - worlds most expensive track day) You need to have completed at least 8 club sprint days to be eligable and even then it will be an acceptance by application and invitation only. Full details can be found at: http://www.drivebathurst.com/\ Cheers
  2. You going on Sunday Jack? I'm hoping to but I haven't heard from the boss if the car is working again yet. If so we'll see if we can both improve our efforts. I know I'm aiming for 33's at least. The thing is we were there the other week and the track just didn't seem to have the usual amount of grip so it might be hard. (Mind you I only did 2 laps so...) Apparently it was resurfaced before the recent V8 round.
  3. Yeah I'm having issues with them too. Still waiting on some pretty simple things I thought that were ordered on May 21st. No idea on the status of them either since they shipped 1 item from the order and basically then list the order as being closed with just giving me a note saying the other stuff will be shipped as soon as they can. They shouldn't take $$$ for parts they don't have especially when before you click confirm it says the order will be shipped 2 days later. But what can you do.
  4. We had a play in one recently.
  5. Nice one It sounds like the pointy end this year in Dutton W.A. should be a lot more competative. I know Gazzard and Beaumont will be there this year and they'll be tough to beat but it will be fun to see how close we can all get since I know Jeff hasn't seen anything over in W.A. before. I'm really getting excitied and can't wait to get over there next weekend for a bit of a play. It's a shame Berry/Newman won't be there as you guys would love to see that GT-R in action. It is a weapon and a half.
  6. Right - got some info for Barbagallo on Saturday. I'm getting a 1 day membership ($60) and then it's $55 for the day. So thats costing me $115 total to run. I think you can get a yearly membership as well but obviously that's not required for me. $115 is reasonable for a track day though. (well it is over here)
  7. Scotsman has been doing terrible things with his flex hasn't he. So has gaint for that matter......
  8. I know a few of us no longer have standard sumps. The engine was out so may as well play it safe. It's a Benno built 8L. I'm pretty sure the same one is on Scotsmans, Jacks and Aarons.
  9. Did you say Wolf? No one listens to you any more Troy....
  10. I couldn't afford one but it would be nice to see a Carrera GT and a McLaren SLR on the road over here.
  11. The Gallardo definitely has a wing. (abiet tiny) And the F430 and Enzo have a raised boot lip that is designed to act as a wing.
  12. Haha - Andrew you're going to get towards that 49 at 0.5s at a time. 3 more track days to go. Or you could do a Scotsman and just take 3s off in one go.
  13. I think you'll find you are wrong in your thoughts there. A couple of those cars have rear wings that raise at certain speeds. And the best example of all can be shown with the CCX. The Top Gear Tests showed considerable increase in lap times with the addition of a rear wing to the car. (Not to mention high speed stability) Koenigsegg CCX
  14. It is to help compensate for my inability to drive propperly. I have a lot of problems with trail braking and we have a couple of good stops down here where I have a habbit of looping the car around (Turn 1 Sandown for example). I used to have the problem heaps with the factory standard brake set-up but then it went totally away when I upgraded the front calipers only. (375mm rotors with AP 6 pots). Since upgrading the rears I have the problem back again so I'm trying to run a reduced friction pad in the rear to keep the cars balance. It's not working real good just yet so I might need to work on my skills rather than masking the problem.
  15. Yeah there are worse cars out there. I had a session at AHG just before last Christmas in it and by all accounts it's even better now. Should be fun.
  16. Yeah I'm hoping to get down for the afternoon session at Collie on the Sat too. You staying down at Collie for the Sat night somewhere? I have all your 06 Dutton W.A. vid's on my PC. Some nice driving there and it looks like you guys had a lot of fun. What are you guys entering in this year?
  17. How many beers had you had when you did that?.
  18. Yeah I made the mistake of running standard streets at too low pressures once in my rex and the damage done was obvious for all to see. Presures need to up around 40 or higher on the track for tyres like this. Anything in the low 30's will kill them in no time. But we live and learn. See my effort.
  19. Same. With the cracked block I was hitting 100+ water temps within a lap. As soon as I got the new block I can do lap after lap with temps down around 90.
  20. Slightly off topic but I don't suppose you have any of the 265/35/18 RE55's do you?
  21. Sorry I can't give you any more information. I had an issue once and my workshop told me it was one of the wheel sensors.
  22. I'd also love to "borrow" that meter Trent I've just invested in a set of Wing Upright Extensions for my car as I feel it should significantly increase the rear downforce but I'd like to know for sure if it has worked the way I think.
  23. Lloyd, I'm guessing you are posting here as most of the EVO's you saw down at the WRX Club event are memebers of SAUVIC. The reason being we have in our club championship provision for an EVO Class so you will be competing against other EVO's. To get your CAMS license as mentioned all you need to do is join a CAMS Club and then pay your $89pa for a CAMS license. For your car requirements my advice is to go and see Jeff at Techsport (being an EVO guy I hope you know who that is) and Jeff will hook you up with all the little car things you need. He makes some great extinguisher mounts and can sort a bonnet restraint for you. You should be able to get everything sorted well in time for the next event at Winton on July 28th.
