  1. Pretty much everyone in Vic I know with a GT-R including myself uses this too.
  2. Actually - just so you are aware - all the cabins are already booked under SAU so if you want one you still have to ring up and say you are with SAU and then take the Cabin you want. I'm already in Cabin 4
  3. They have 1 bed room with a queen and another bedroom with 4 singles (2 x bunk beds). Thats the delux. The other one has a queen in one room and a double with a single bunk above it in the other room. They all have a small seperate kitchen / lounge room as well. They aren't delux but really they are just a place to sleep! And for $25 they leave plenty of spending $$$ on margarita's.
  4. This is where you want to stay. http://www.toptouristparks.com.au/ParkDeta...&ident=vlcp It's cheap and if you get one of the big cabins it will sleep 5-6 people (6 if there is at least 1 couple). And so costs you about $25. We usually all stay there and it is a great place to stay as it's very social (i.e. all the cabins are on the lake and next to each other with big decks and out-door tables so you can sit around have a beer together before going out.) That's where most of the Vic crew will be staying - but it does sell out quickly so if you are coming and you wnat to stay here be smart and book early.
  5. Anthony - you won't need a harness. The standard 3 point set-belt is fine. The only people that are being asked to use a harness is the guys in quick cars like The Stig. And once you start getting good and going fast you'll find you'll want one anyways as they do help hold you in the seat and let you concentrate on driving rather than holding yourself in place as you tend to do at places like PI. But for now you'll just be getting a feel for driving around the track. The secondary bonnet restraint can just be a tie down rope. My advise is to just get one. It's piece of mind and will cost you <$5. Trust me on this - the last thing you want is to approach the hay shed with your bonnet wrapped over your windscreen. Although it would be the most exciting 20s of you life. And don't stress over the 75dB thing unless you know you car is farken loud or has a screamer pipe or something. You will get a warning if you are over - not kicked off straight away and if you do get a warning there are plently of us down there that can give you a hand to try and get you passed. But I would be VERY suprised if you get pinged. But 75dB @ 30m will be a much louder car than the standard 90dB EPA test. Ignore the section 6-5 bit.
  6. Harness won't be needed for passengers sessions (if there is one) as you are expected to only drive at 80% if you have a passenger. And I can tell you from personal experience if you mess with the 80% passenger rule at PI they will come down on your ass hard. At places like Winton they really don't care what you do as long as you stay on the black stuff but at PI if you set an evenly remotely competative time with a passanger (say a 1.52 ) you can expect to be packing up and going home afterwards. You will need a battery sticker and a secondary bonnet restaint. They will provide you with competition numbers on the day. And if you can pass the 90dB you will pass the 75db track test easily.
  7. These events are perfect for noobs. It's also the reason why we get so many chicks coming as well as there is no pressure to perform and also basically little chance to damage your car. Having said that if you can get good at these events you'll be fast in all forms of motorsports.
  8. Race shops such as merridian, revolution, gmp, etc have them.
  9. Nice job by everyone and a great turn out too. Thumbs up on the new key rings too - they are pretty sweet.
  10. Jeebus!
  11. It's a shame he brought one of these Audi's instead.
  12. They aren't the same. The best clutch I purchased for the R34 was the Nismo Twin. But since then I've just had Jim Berry rebuild it for me and it's even better than the original. Cheers
  13. Both around 90 around town.
  14. You CAN"T use 2530's in Targa. You have to use Nissan OEM turbo's. Hence why I'm selling them.
  15. You could be all out of luck mate - according to Biante Website it was sold out as from last week. http://www.biante.com.au/product_15536.htm
  16. I'm looking forwards to sitting down the back and heckling!
  17. If you do 1.29's at Sandown you should be able to get under 2.00m but put that down for starters as it takes "most" people all day to get their head around Phillip Island (unless you are Blaise in which case you'll manage a 1.52 on your 2nd lap which is only 1s off his best lap). As for driver training - it takes a brave man to get into the passenger seat of a relative novice at a place like PI!
  18. I'm running the AP 6 pot CP5555's with 375mm rotors with the standard rear brake set-up. I haven't altered anything else other than braided lines and a master cylinder stopper. I'm very happy with the set-up as I found the original configuration to cause me to trail brake a little too much where as for me this set-up has balanced the car out under heavy braking.
  19. grate = Great. (cruise thread title)
  20. Whats that? All looks and no go!? hehe. To quote our old friend Mines Datsun "Why is Golgo so weak" (after the Autosalon Dyno run).
  21. It's probably not registered to drive on the streets but like in the dude in Syd with the F40 just pays the fine every time he gets caught driving an unregistered veichle. If you can afford those cars you can afford the fines.
  22. FYI - when I first got mine back in 03 I had a 100% stock R34 GTR dyno'd and it made 177awkw's. With an exhaust, cam gears, boost upped to 15psi and a power fc that was increased to 255. If you want the easy way to know if the car is a genuine V Spec if that is what you are looking for / at check the central MFD. The V secs show 7 readings on the multi reading display. The non V Specs show 5 (don't show exhaust or intake temps). Have fun.
  23. I'd have come if I had a working car.
  24. How can he possibly look a Frenchman in the eye knowing he's only done a 1.58 @ PI in his life.
  25. The 19's make the brakes look silly as well. The EVO brakes are plenty big enough but when you put 19's on they look way too small.
