  1. Gary - you forget we are talking about Autosalon here. They don't care about CAMS because that's Australian. They care about what they do in Japan because they are wannabe's. So if the circuit battles in Japan have an approved tyre list then Autosalon are going to copy them. I personally had no problem with JP running the Hoosiers. I mean it was so damn funny to see him rock on up with them and see that it was raining. HilARRRRious.
  2. I've done this in the past. Nothing wrong with giving someone a bit of a buzz on their big night. Not putting my hand up though sorry - I'm now old and boring.
  3. Yeah as much as Eastern Creek was..... interesting with all it's blind corners and decent speeds I think 3 of the Vic tracks out of 4 have a lot more potential for disaster than EC does. For starters the tops speeds we reached at EC were down on the tops speeds we reach at Calder, Sandown and PI. And PI for example has 3 corners (turn 1, 3 and the hayshed) which are taken at over 200km/hr along with the last turn which I change into 5th right on exit - so about 200km/hr - and thats on semi's. (you can now imagine the speeds at PI given the length of the stright and the fact you start the straight at 200km/hr and turn 1 is a 200km/hr turn). So as Bris said slicks and cages down in Vic is about potential speeds. There have even been CAMS officials at our local track days with talks about some cars having to be fitted with cgaes even running semi's with the times they are now doing. For those that haven't seen this before check the speeds of some cars coming off at Sandown on street tyres. Imagine the speeds you be carrying through this kink on slicks and then if you got it wrong (for those that saw Gareths Blue R32 - that was this car!
  4. Thats what Friday night at the Hibernian in Goulburn will be for. (Was a pretty good pub for Goulburn!)
  5. Helping out at this one will be tops. The exclusive gift is almost as cool as a red jacket.
  6. Alright - I'm in. Were's all the fast NSW dudes (Dave, Paul, John!?) A lot of these cars are in the 1.07 and under bracket. And thats on real tyres too. It should be good.
  7. Alrighty - an opportunity too good to miss has come up so I'm going back to Wakefield for Australia Day in 2007. Basically it's a limited field of 50 cars (5 x groups of 10 cars for 10min sessions) with an entry fee of $140. The day is being run by Autosports who all seem far too serious but still the cars entered already are FAST and are coming from Syd, Canberra and QLD, and include GTR's, RX7's, EVO's, STI's and Porsches. Forget Autosalon Circuit Battle too - a lot of these cars are already running under 1.07's. This will be a real Circuit Battle. Autosports website - http://www.autosports.com.au/forum/index.php
  8. At worst my bed is now empty on Sat night Nathan.
  9. At least we now know the other reason why you guys don't run semi's now - availability and price. We needed some RE55's and simply couldn't get ANY when we were up there but the good news is the price we were quoted for them or the Dunlops was well over $100 per tyre more than we pay down here.
  10. There are some pretty serious cars in that list already. Maybe I might have to make a return trip to Wake earlier than originally planned. I'm sure Jesus isn't satisfied with his outting there.
  11. Haha - especially if you go the EVO path. When James was first driving at Wakefield he had very bad brake shudder. Then I went for a spin in his car and discovered you could just hammer up to a corner - and then turn. And the car would go around. Brakes really weren't needed. And neither was talent.
  12. It's all good - the number was right but Craig was apparerntly getting his back cracked. He needs to invest in message bank though.
  13. Phantom32 - I'm in Melbourne and I can tell you the best place to get them is through John @ UAS. (Boosted Zed) By far the cheapeast. Interesting for the Vic guys that know Blaise in that he is now running the DS2500's on the track in his new EVO and thinks they are great.
  14. Charles contacted me to find out if I was coming and told me they were banned. To quote him: "There have also been slight revisions to the regulations, mainly regarding tyres. I’ve created an “approved” tyre list (similar to the system used in D1GP), and a banned tyre list. Tyres such as the twin-band Hoosiers are now no longer allowed. "
  15. Anyone got one? I need to get in contact with Craig or Ben. Number on website is 0400 502 250 and seems to be dead?
  16. Yep - it's sold out already. I thought I was in - apparently I'm not.
  17. Don't try and take credit for my laziness James. It was me that couldn't be bothered taking your spare tyre out since I drove your car at the start whilst you did some work!
  18. I thought it was you Kam but it wasn't in your sig! I found that pic from google images.
  19. It's ok - found it.
  20. I dont use those forums. Anyways - it was a pic of a blue R34 and a titanium R34. The blue R34 had a raised wing - thats what I'm looking for the picture for.
  21. Someone has in their sig a pic from the UK I think of 2 x R34's GTR's about to drag. The pic is take from the back. Anyone know who it is or know where I can find that picture?
  22. Was good to meet you and the rest of the NSW crew that came down Paul. Hopefully next time I'll have my car there rather than driving everyone elses. If you come down for the Nationals we'll see what else we can set-up but like EC - PI is a track you'll need a day or 2 at to get your head around. So it might be better to come down for a PIARC weekend or something which runs 2 days in a row (Sat non-timed practise just like that EC day then Sunday is a full Sprint Day). Winton is open most Fridays as well and is a tops little track. Just remember you'll either need semi's or a cage down here though.
  23. Haha - John I see they have banned your Hoosiers for this one.
  24. Hahahaha - some of this is hilarious. It's funny that sarcassim is hard to get across on forums. Apparently many people here don't know about the long going joke - especially between a couple of us Vics and JP about the semi's V slicks thing. It's not serious - it's just shits and giggles. We know why NSW guys runs slicks (cost) and why we run semi's (we can't run slicks down here without a cage) but I don't think you will find anyone gives a shite whether someone ran a 1.45 in a GTR or a 2.09 in an EVO. As long as you are out there is all that matters. It's just like the Zed v GTR shits and giggles. It's just some fun peoples! I mean if we compare dicks really we have to look down and hang our heads in shame and admit that the QLD's have the biggest in the appropriately named giant who has beaten all of us - and on semi-comps. But then we could say he did that on race fuel and start another funny arguement.....
