  1. and don't forget Dan and Evan who are continuing the tradition of having the WRX Club Social Directors who are also SAU VIc Club Members.
  2. Sif he gets a Red Jacket. Well done though mate. And good to have Budge back (VP) as well.
  3. The big question is - how long before it gets stickamyfied!? We know James isn't going to be able to help himself.
  4. These have been because Advan were out of stock. He's been waiting over 3 months for them to make them.
  5. To spoil James fun these are the rims he has coming on basically the same car as he has.
  6. Actually in Vic we don't get to have all the cool little hill climb events like you guys do. We have MtBuller and Lake Mountain but they run under Tarmac Rally Specs. Our old events like the Geelong Speed Trials, Arthurs Seat Hill Climb etc are all gone now. We only only have tracks and Tarmac Rally events. (Thats not 100% true. There are some hillclimbs but it seems only historics are eligable to run from what I've seen)
  7. Sounds like a good time to move to Vic then. From the RTA "With the unfortunate (and very public) deaths of a few drivers recently whilst competing in motorsport events, the Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) have passed a rule that says that they will revoke ALL current events, and will refuse ALL future CAMS sanctioned events held on Public Roads in for which they are responsible for in NSW.." RIP Motorsport in NSW
  8. Are you sure it's not power steering fluid boiling over and then burning off. Very common with hard driven GT-R's.
  9. Basically cancelled due to the fact there is no cages or anything needed. Buller and Lake Mountain etc are all still fine. Same with the other Targa events. It's just the Race to the Pie that's been canned. And if I'm honest I kinda have to agree with the decision. There was nothing to stop Leewah and his 600awkw GT-R with NOS plumbed in running this event with no cage - which is kinda crazy.
  10. As long as there is Guiness we're in. I'd say Thursday Night is the goer.
  11. That's easy to say now that he's in QLD for a few days!
  12. I WANT ONE!
  13. If you have a crazy fast GT-R and you are doing club sprints with out a cage then you are a tool anyways. Hang on.....
  14. And now I just heard it was cancelled. Seems the NSW government has decided to cancel all events on public roads. Except Bathurst of course. What a knee jerk.
  15. No Matt - everyone from Vic (or QLD) can do it under a deal we made with management from EC. It's ok. It's supposed to be for C3 and higher only but they have given us up to 30 places for L2S guys from interstate. At this stage it looks like we will only use about 15 of them though.
  16. That's a really difficult question to answer because it depends totally on what you want to get out of it. If you want to be fast then the answer is a GT-R. You don't need to spend HUGE $$$ to be faster than most cars. Scotsman's R33 GT-R has run 1.21's around Sandown with some basic handling mods, exhaust, ecu and good tyres. However - the on-going running costs especially in things like semi-comp tyres is a factor. Initially I'd say you could easily get 6-8 track days from a set of semi's but as you get faster and harder on tyres that drops down to around 4. But if you just want to have some fun then you don't need much at all. Ant nearly won the 2005 SAU Vic club championship in a GTS-T running on street tyres and minimal modifications. And he could do lap after lap without any problems at all. Ryan is having fun in his 180 and is only now starting to look at getting some better tyres to get some faster times. So it's really a case of what you want to do. You can pick up an R32 GTR for $20K and save $10K for on-going costs which you are most likely going to need. Or else go cheaper and get something like a 180 or an R32 GTST and have Brisby coming around and sleeping in your bed.
  17. The GGG compund are the super soft ones. The GG's (which are the main ones you can buy) are a lot harder and are in-line with the RE55 SR compund in terms of tyre wear. Which is to so in a reasonable car they should last a good 6 track days. I'm giving these Toyo's a test run shortly to finally get an answer as to how they compare to the others I've used (RE55's A048's and DZ02's).
  18. As I said John - the list in the first post are the people that are OFFICIALLY coming rather than just the initial group that showed interest. Alan - I'll add you and James to the list. Bunta - you need more QLD's.
  19. knox is ghey and leewah is a legend. that is all.
  20. That's whom I have confirmation from so far that are coming. I'm only adding people to it now when I know they are in for sure. Although there are a couple of quick EVO guys from QLD keen to come as well that aren't on the list. One of them is particularly quick so that should be interesting especially at Wakefield and the other ran a mid 1.07 there on his only other visit.
  21. Thats the problem - everyone suggests it but no-one takes ownership. But then if you really want to do local regular meets there enough other ones around. NS for example.
  22. Within the next week. Hopefully sooner rather than later too.
  23. More than that - but 4 fast cars only now. Well only 4 confirmed. But I know the 3 real fast ones are out (Basically one had to pull out to due to work and the others followed). But Aaron and Jack are fast enough for you.
  24. Unfortunately the 3 mega quick cars from Vic are now out for this trip So it will be up to me, Aaron, Jack and Scotsman to uphold the Vic pride. Luckily for me those other 3 are still pretty quick!
  25. I'll update the list with who is actually coming so far. It's a much smaller list now.... If you aren't on the list but think you should be - post up AND SEND ME YOUR DISCLAIMER (if your a driver)
